Thanks a lot. However, I have another problem. Every time I create a line, it snaps to certain constrains (horizontal, vertical, parallel etc.); this becomes really irritating when the sketch is complex. How can somebody disable that snapping option?

not sure about disabling it but you can always use dimensions to change the line to exactly how you want it
