Another good one is when Jimmy is walking to Cliff's office with the commercial. The camera stops and backs up just a little a moment before Jimmy does, like Jimmy's subconscious deciding to turn around before Jimmy's conscious mind makes the decision. It's a great way to visualize that "itch" of Jimmy's that he doesn't quite have control over.
Jimmy knew that his boss wasn't going to approve his commercial. Looking at how bland the first one they made, with just words on a blue screen. So he took "initiative" lol
True, but considering Jimmy used his name in that commercial, it meant the firm was liable for ANYTHING that Jimmy said in that ad. That's why he was furious, he had no idea what Jimmy just put out there in his name. Also the ad is very manipulative, which Cliff might feel is something his firm is above doing.

🚌📼🗞Watching this reaction, I can feel how invested you two have become with this show. Glad you're enjoying it as much as I did, and I can't wait to watch new episodes with you next year!
You guys are hilarious!!! “Chuck’s going to find out, then they are going to lose the case, Kim’s going to leave, and he’s going to become Saul Goodman!”
Nikki and Steven; With Jimmy, he is an "ends justifies the means" guy. He does what he does with good intentions, regardless if what he is doing is the legal or moral thing. He truly thought that the reasons for the commercial, and the immense success, is enough to justify it. In Dungeons and Dragons (a Stranger Things correlation), players can have 1 of 9 alignments, ranging from Lawful Good to Chaotic Evil. Jimmy is Chaotic Good; he has great intentions but he follows his own moral compass, justifying it with the results. The firm is Lawful, so chaos is the antithesis. Oil and water.
Nacho on Breaking Bad: you do not see him HOWEVER, when Jesse and Walter abduct Saul the first time they meet him, he's pleading because he thinks their cartel and he says "I swear it wasn't me it was Nacho!"
I think you guys are too tough on Jimmy. Yeah, knowing where he ends up, it's easy to denigrate him. When Chuck says "Slipping Jimmy with a machine gun" everyone agrees because they know where he ends up, but maybe the reason he ended up like that was because everyone treated him like he could never be anything more than a fraud and a charlatan. Idk, I just think it's unfair
Please address the Stacey scene where she "heard gunshots, but of course, Mike was there and nothing happened in that regard. New to your channel -- found you because of BreakingBad and BCS: Late to the party. Didn't think I would enjoy a show about meth but the writing, actors are SO great!! Always has me on the edge of my seat. You guys are great! I love revisiting this show with you. BUS/VHS/NEWSPAPER [for whatever reason I can't make emojis work]. Also, Nikki I love your hair. I wish I was brave enough to cut mine but I don't think I would look good -- and you look so pretty. the switch on his office is a reference to his personality, that no matter how good of a situacion he is in, he will sooner or later will touch the switch and break the rules, because that is who he is.
It's cool seeing your reactions and predictions as you go. Also didn't know they actually made a squat cobbler video till I saw this so thanks for that 🤣 📼🚌🗞
I don't see anyone else talking about this, but I'm still not sure what to make of Stacey and her claims of hearing gunshots. On the one hand, she IS the widow of a cop, and anything that sounds like a gunshot (a newspaper falling on the sidewalk, the house settling with a big crack, etc.) is liable to sound like a gunshot; especially since she has a child in the house as well. But on the other hand, I'll admit I was extremely suspicious when first viewing this episode. Especially when Mike was secretly out there all night (and went to his job straight away after; no wonder the poor man looks tired all the time XD) and heard nothing except the newspapers, which were probably dropped off at 6 in the morning. Up to interpretation, I suppose.
There is another very important aspect to this imo. The residents of Sandpiper are small fish to the lawfirm, probably. Their video wouldn't have had even close to the outreach Jimmy's would have, since the firm wouldn't risk going overboard. So in the end, is he doing the "right" thing, since all those elders' pensions are getting drained ? And is he taking a calculated risk to make it happen or is he just doing it, because he can't help it (maybe because it is HIS case) ?
This is one episode I didn’t fully understand. Maybe someone here knows? Is Stacey using Mike’s kindness and protection to manipulate him to get her a new home? Did she make the mark in the wall herself? Or is she just on high alert and mistake the make for a genuine gunshot? I’ve never been sure on this. Nikki, Steven, you guys got a take on that?
🚍📼🗞 hahaha I loved the back and forth between you about the VHS tape. Lol. I broke so many of those rewinding my favorite movies over and over again. I broke the lion king tape, the labyrinth tape, and the Aladdin tape. Probably a few others I dont remember. When you said that you feel old as fuck, I was with you. I'll be 33 in November so I'm old lol. The other day I was even explaining the labyrinth to my 15 year old. I felt pretty old. Hahah. I also had to explain the neverending story to him as well not too long ago. Both cuz of stranger things lol. Anyway I do really like this show and your guys' reactions. Thank you for all that you do for us to let us keep watching them! :)
The way they leave ya hanging I have to binge watch 2-3 episodes, looking for a good stopping point! Excellent writing and acting. Love your reactions.
He didn't wait because he already knew the ad wouldn't get approved, so he felt like he had to make and air it first, so they would see how great it was as well as see the results it brought. Law firms have to protect themselves against lawsuits, so they don't generally approve commercials as stylish as Jimmy's -- someone could potentially misunderstand what's being promised. Even a frivolous lawsuit takes time to fend off and affects public image. This is why they prefer ads that are boring and straightforward, with all the legalese stated right on the TV. If anyone launches a suit, you can point right to the legalese, ending it right there. Jimmy doesn't think about the long-term consequences of his actions, because Chuck is kind of right: he treats the law like a game, where you outwit as many people as possible, as fast as possible. The reputations of Kim and Davis&Main just don't enter his mind as a major factor, because that's an abstract problem which interferes with short-term tangible results. I also think at this point, Jimmy's really struggling with his reasons for being a lawyer. Dude looked up to his big brother all his life, as far as we can tell, and did everything he could to support him. He turned his life around specifically because Chuck bailed him out and made him promise to do so. Now, he's found out his brother never wanted him to succeed, and has been in fact actively sabotaging his career. It's an immense betrayal, but it also means that Chuck's approval -- a major reason for his ability to confidently pursue a legitimate law career -- is now gone. Chuck's glare in the meeting is kind of like, "I know you're lying. You don't belong here, at the big table with the real lawyers. You're not a real lawyer." It's getting in his head, digging at his deepest insecurities in a way that it never has before, because he always believed that Chuck believed in him. So he's reckless with this commercial, because he's struggling with his self-image. He doesn't want to believe he's Slippin' Jimmy, but he kind of does. If you tell someone they're a bad person long enough, and treat them accordingly, they will eventually give up and act that way. It's just easier to find a niche in which you thrive. I think this is why Season 2's posters of Better Call Saul show him walking on a road that's tilted at a very steep slope. It even shows traffic lights where green is pointed down the slope. Basically saying that falling would be so much easier, and that Jimmy is fighting his deepest calling as Slippin' Jimmy, eventually known as Saul. This whole series is an incredibly sad story.
Partner track. Law firms are partnerships so when you get hired your an associate and you just get a large salary and bonus. The partner track means you are on you way to becoming one of the Partners, that is a part owner. Meaning you share in the firms profits. So instead of making $300k a year as an associate as a partner sharing in profits you'll make over a million a year especially senior partners. So Jimmy if he did good and was approved would have a chance to become a partner or part owner where the big big money is.
Jimmy cannot stand people telling him what he can or can't do. He feels like a special snowflake and goes against the grain. When he cons someone who follows the rule, it gives him that moral validation that he was right. The moment that he was told to wait the weekend, it's the moment he decided to air it. All good common sense tells him not to do it, considering Kim is also liable to get some collateral damage from any stunts he pulls. Yet just like the scorpion stinging the frog in the middle of the pond, Jimmy just can't help himself.
@Drake Lang I disagree. I don't know if you have finished watching the series, but summarising his character as not being able to control himself and not being able to do what people tell him just isn't accurate.
I noticed that you reacted to some Marvel shows in the past. So I strongly suggest that you react to Daredevil. Not only is it the best Marvel show on Netflix, but also was on that show that the Punisher was introduced. I hope you consider my suggestion because I like your reactions. Thank you!
I really enjoyed you guys freaking out. I understand. Hey - my opinion Mike's daughter in law is a little passive aggressive and kind of sort of takes advantage of Mike. She knows he'll do anything for his family. What did you think of Kim and Jimmy watching The Thing and the great comments. Kim to Jimmy "Golden Boy" and then Jimmy's "Did anything blow up yet?" I pretty sure we did not see Nacho at all in BB. Just Saul mentioning him in the first SG episode with Walt and Jessie. Anyway. Love the emoji's ... Keep working on the southern accent Steve. Thanks.
Chuck is an asshole but he's not being an asshole by pressing Jimmy. Chuck is actually protecting his firm's business rep. For the average person should get is that what Jimmy did is grossly unethical and against "Rules of Professional Responsibility." There is basically a law that makes it a violation to chase ambulances. That's what they mean when they say there couldn't be a hint of "solicitation." 'Solicitation" is an ethics law that says a lawyer violates the rules if they "solicit employment by face to face contact." Basically, it's permitted to put up an ad or talk to people you have prior business relationships with. But you can't go chase down people and put your card in their pocket. That's what Jimmy did. He made their bus break down and then met face to face. Its rule 7 in most states and in the Federal rules. Again, it can get you disbarred. And the entire firm gets tarnished. And Chuck understands the right way to get clients. Second, and the commercial is done without firm permission and in their name. Not to mention the commercial looks low budget and cheesy. Law firms don't normally put commercials on tv. Notice you rarely see any major law firm ads on tv. Cause they sometimes think it makes them look less "classy." Its a bit of an elitist attitude but big law firms are pretty elitist.
The thing you have to realize about this show is it's about Jimmy's internal battle over what he wants to be vs what everyone wants him to be. It's going to lead to Jimmy making very questionable decisions and fucking up a lot. Jimmy didn't trust his law firm's opinion after seeing the last commercial they made. That's why he didn't want to risk his commercial being shot down. The commercial should have no adverse effect on the case, there's nothing legally improper about it. It's just that his law firm didn't approve of it. I'm like Nikki, I don't like cringy movies where everything goes wrong and the protagonist keeps fucking up. Nacho never appears in Breaking Bad. This is the first time we've ever seen him. His relationship with Mike is going to bring Mike ever closer to where he needs to be.
Vince Gillian(the writer) had the actor who squat cobbled..do an actual video of him doing it. It's hilarious, y'all should react to it..its names "Peaches n beaches."
I'm not a big Chuck fan, but it's a little ridiculous to pin every bad thing Jimmy does on Chuck's shoulders. Yes, Chuck may influence Jimmy's actions in some way and I'm not denying Chuck's hand in all this, but at the end of the day, Jimmy's a grown-ass man who is responsible for his own actions and choices. Every scheme and con that Jimmy has pulled, Jimmy did on his own accord. Chuck didn't force him to do any of it.
@@ChrisPBacon-xn9up I agree, but it doesn't change the fact that Chuck is right about Jimmy. Jimmy's the kid who keeps touching the stove even after it burns him numerous times.
well. the future episode already says it all on why he is an ass to jimmy. chuck is a certified manipulator and self righteous. he is preaching that law is sacred yet he picks up a newspaper and thinks that paying $5 is a compensation to what he did. he snatched up a client from kim which she worked so hard for. he secretly recorded his conversation with jimmy. he didn't force jimmy directly but he controls him inadvertently. cock blocking your own brother's success just because you think he should earn it the way you did? that just screams insecurity. he also manipulated kim into thinking that jimmy is not good for her. chuck is a certified villain which only motivation is that their mother didn't ask for him on her death bed. it's petty.

James shouts out to the audience: "you can tell he's really from there 'cause he doesn't know how to pronounce it!"

“On edge the entire time, just waiting for Jimmy to fuck-“
Ad plays.
I know Cliff is mad, but Jimmy's commercial was way better than his.
📼🚐🗞
True, but considering Jimmy used his name in that commercial, it meant the firm was liable for ANYTHING that Jimmy said in that ad. That's why he was furious, he had no idea what Jimmy just put out there in his name.
Also the ad is very manipulative, which Cliff might feel is something his firm is above doing.
This shows is so awesome. Each episode and season keeps getting better and better.
omg, the video JUST started and im here to stan nikki in a giant ass sweatshirt!
ok, vid is over....as many have said, it is pure JOY for those of us who have seen the series to watch you two react. there is so much more to come!
Amarillo means 'yellow' in Spanish
"Was it Yellow?" "It's *Canary* yellow"
Also amarillo also stands for yellow in spanish. Which represends cowardice. All the titles have multiple meanings just like breaking bad
Also when all the first letters from episodes in this season are put together they say something. But that's all I'm saying
That University of American Samoa hoodie is awesome! Nice touch hahaha.
📼🚌🗞
I love that you are so into this show & that you appreciate it. Some people are frustrated by the slow pace.
Nacho is not seen in BrBa but he is mentioned in Saul’s first episode when Saul is kidnapped by Walt & Jesse (“It was Ignacio. Did Lalo send you?”)
"Amarillo" is not only a city in Texas, it also means "yellow" in Spanish. We didn't see Nacho in Breaking Bad. 🚌📼🗞️
But nacho sauce is amarillo.
Der Red More of a naranjo.
I've been binging your guys' old reactions, in between the new Season 6 episodes, and 6:37 Steve got it SPOT ON!! I mean I dont think anyone couldve seen it coming what would actually happen, but you were right on the money!
That pig animatronic that Mike gave to his niece is the same one he put on the door of his house to trick the assassin in Breaking Bad!
Livia from the sopranos had this same chair like that old lady
@Drake Lang I dont like that kind of talk now stop it . It upsets me
Then kill me now. Go on now, go into the ham, and take the carving knife and stab me, here, here, now, please!
Just realised, isn’t that piggy toy Mike gives Kaylee the same one he uses to distract the hitman at Chows in BB. He puts it on the door in front of the peephole
Am I only one who notices the sandpiper bus in the beginning is a 2014 model ford when its suppose to take time in early 2000?? Its driving me crazy
Nacho is just mentioned once in BB, but he doesn't appear
Yay for the hoodie!! So cool
We never see Nacho, we just hear about him from Saul
Nikki and Steven;
With Jimmy, he is an "ends justifies the means" guy.
Notice how an episode without a single gunshot or violence created that much tension
15:27 That camera guy is my favourite character.
Yo Steven and Nikki, you both are awesome! :D
you both are the cutest couple on the internet, god bless yall
I haven't seen this show in a while, so this is a good recap.
i love that you're getting so emotionally invested into this now. this is where the show really starts to get good.
22:30 because he's a lawyer
Please address the Stacey scene where she "heard gunshots, but of course, Mike was there and nothing happened in that regard.
New to your channel -- found you because of BreakingBad and BCS: Late to the party. Didn't think I would enjoy a show about meth but the writing, actors are SO great!! Always has me on the edge of my seat. You guys are great! I love revisiting this show with you. As much as I liked Breaking Bad, I almost like this show better because I LOVE Mike and I Love Kim and her interaction with Jimmy/Saul. BUS/VHS/NEWSPAPER [for whatever reason I can't make emojis work]. Also, Nikki I love your hair. I wish I was brave enough to cut mine but I don't think I would look good -- and you look so pretty. No, I did not notice a sunburn at all.
📼🚌🗞 It was fun rewatching BB with you and S1 of BCS. Looking forward to follow along as you catch up to BCS and really looking forward to following the series live for Season 5 with you. Just like I did with GOT season 8. Keep up the great work and congrats on your channel’s success!
Wasn't really a BCS fan until I started watching it on your guys channel, now it is one of my favorites!
22:44 Nikki: “this gives me anxiety!” We all know by now that everything gives Nikki anxiety even if nothing is going to happen 😭😭
the switch on his office is a reference to his personality, that no matter how good of a situacion he is in, he will sooner or later will touch the switch and break the rules, because that is who he is.
even if he waited, they would've never approved of it that's why he try to shoot for a run. he knows how to interact with the clients.
I'm hoping Season 4 hits Netflix soon lol...hope you both have a great week
I've never found it easier to apologize than to ask for permission.
Does anyone else wonder why there even is a vhs emoji? Great reaction and I thought both of your paintings were fab!!!
Awesome shirt Steve 😁
True, we've seen a genius chemist lugging a huge ass barrel of methylamine instead of rolling it.
"I'm ready for my close up, Mr mcGill"....
Gotta love a show that references Sunset boulevard
Chunk is like jimmy's Jail guard
This is one episode I didn’t fully understand. Maybe someone here knows?
Is Stacey using Mike’s kindness and protection to manipulate him to get her a new home? Did she make the mark in the wall herself? Or is she just on high alert and mistake the make for a genuine gunshot?
I’ve never been sure on this. Nikki, Steven, you guys got a take on that?
I think she's high-strung and very jumpy since her husband die. It could be what you suggest though.
Did you know that actor Michael McKean (Charles) was one of the band members in the mockumentary, “This is Spinal Tap”?
No. We never see Nacho in BB. Just Saul saying his name once.
There is a scene in BB when Nacho is mentioned by Saul
📼🚍🗞 So not only did I TH-cam search for squat cobbler, I watched it. I can't unsee this. I blame Steven.
The way they leave ya hanging I have to binge watch 2-3 episodes, looking for a good stopping point! Excellent writing and acting. Love your reactions.
yall rly gotta start doin two episodes a week smh
33:12 That cut was on point. So sweet!
Vince Gilligan is a genius as always
You guys (and penny) are hilarious today :)
They did actually dedicate almost a whole episode of Mike's prep work to suss Fring out in Breaking Bad, not sure if that counts lol
Steven under his breath: "He's lying"
me : Nope, he's not lying, he did NOT knock on any doors, he stepped onto a bus
yes, jimmy used loophole. they're forgetting that term exist.
Gen Z: What’s a VHS?
Gen X: It’s what we watched movies on before we had DVDs.
Gen Z: What’s a DVD?
i was wondering if youd pick up on the pig lol......nice job!!! :)
Nikki, amazing hoodie!
It was one hell of a suspenseful episode
Jimmy cannot stand people telling him what he can or can't do. He feels like a special snowflake and goes against the grain. When he cons someone who follows the rule, it gives him that moral validation that he was right. The moment that he was told to wait the weekend, it's the moment he decided to air it. All good common sense tells him not to do it, considering Kim is also liable to get some collateral damage from any stunts he pulls. Yet just like the scorpion stinging the frog in the middle of the pond, Jimmy just can't help himself.
No, that's not right at all.
@Drake Lang It really isn't. It's not even an analysis. It's just a surface level look that doesn't go beyond "Lawyer man bad"
@Drake Lang I disagree. I don't know if you have finished watching the series, but summarising his character as not being able to control himself and not being able to do what people tell him just isn't accurate.
23:50 ..."I hate that Bob Barker"
I noticed that you reacted to some Marvel shows in the past. So I strongly suggest that you react to Daredevil. Not only is it the best Marvel show on Netflix, but also was on that show that the Punisher was introduced. I hope you consider my suggestion because I like your reactions. Thank you!
we never meet Nacho in Breaking Bad, not directly
I really enjoyed you guys freaking out. I understand. Hey - my opinion Mike's daughter in law is a little passive aggressive and kind of sort of takes advantage of Mike. She knows he'll do anything for his family. What did you think of Kim and Jimmy watching The Thing and the great comments. Kim to Jimmy "Golden Boy" and then Jimmy's "Did anything blow up yet?"
I pretty sure we did not see Nacho at all in BB. Just Saul mentioning him in the first SG episode with Walt and Jessie. Anyway. Love the emoji's ... Keep working on the southern accent Steve. Thanks.
Please can you consider do THE BOYS or...it will be amazing if someone on this days do THE WIRE
Cause they sometimes think it makes them look less "classy." Its a bit of an elitist attitude but big law firms are pretty elitist.
u both do a great jom on here. And i just love Nikki she rocks
Will you react to the boys?
They'd be the best ones to react to the boys. I hope they slip it in weekly like they did Chernobyl
WelDome88 yeah, but chuck is a meanie >:(
@@ChrisPBacon-xn9up I agree, but it doesn't change the fact that Chuck is right about Jimmy. Jimmy's the kid who keeps touching the stove even after it burns him numerous times.
well. the future episode already says it all on why he is an ass to jimmy. chuck is a certified manipulator and self righteous. he is preaching that law is sacred yet he picks up a newspaper and thinks that paying $5 is a compensation to what he did. he snatched up a client from kim which she worked so hard for. he secretly recorded his conversation with jimmy. he didn't force jimmy directly but he controls him inadvertently. cock blocking your own brother's success just because you think he should earn it the way you did? that just screams insecurity. he also manipulated kim into thinking that jimmy is not good for her. chuck is a certified villain which only motivation is that their mother didn't ask for him on her death bed. it's petty.
"Ama-REE-o?" First time I've ever heard that.
I know it has a Spanish origin, but you pronounce the Ls. Take it from a Texan who's been to Ama-RIL-lo many times.
I love how Americans pronounce Spanish words like Amarillo 😂
Ps.: Amarillo means yellow
Hahaha there are loads of city names that re pronounced weird around the USA , some are the same word but depending upon state have two different pronunciations.
@@johnglue1744 There's a hilarious bit from James Brown Live at the Apollo where each band member is introduced and tells where they're from. One of the musician is from Ohio [can't recall which player it was. St. Clair Pinckney?] and pronounces it "Oh-hi-ya". James shouts out to the audience: "you can tell he's really from there 'cause he doesn't know how to pronounce it!"
I thought for sure we saw Nacho in BB, but he wasn’t on it. My work friends and I had the same discussion at the time too. He just seems like he was there, it’s weird.
I would say this show was stressful AF, some episodes like this one specially n would've thought it was the most stressful show but then i watched The Bear n holy shit lo
