I'm one of maybe five Americans who like marzipan (all right, that's an exaggeration, but it's not at the top of many people's list), and the German section of the international food aisle in supermarkets is one of my go-to places to find it. Those little loaves of marzipan covered in dark chocolate are magical things.

Karpouzopita is the least typical Greek desert. Only a few people make it and maybe fewer people actually eat it. Trust me you don't go to a bakery or pastry shop and you find it at any moment

I mean some of these people are really snobby when it comes to eating cultural food or basically anything that doesn't look like the common food that they have. Do they forget these are food that people around the world actually eat? Can't stand all the frowning, the faces, and how they always judged these dishes by how they look before they even got a bite. I get they have to overreact for camera purposes but man! That makes them look really bad imo! Same goes with all the other "People try cultural things blah blah" same type of videos from Buzzfeed.

Agree like the pineapple pastry one where they couldn't identify there was pineapple in and unless the pastry has something that masks the smell and like taste of the pineapple it should have been quite easy to identify it but the said it was a date and god damn DATE Idk maybe it's the Jamaiacan in me and the years of eating fruit based pastry but a Date? AnimePandacorn Queen Actually the pineapple tarts I’ve tried (mass produced) don’t really smell of anything and some of them are only made with winter melon and artificial pineapple flavouring. I’ve had a few that kind of didn’t taste like anything recognizable, just something sweet

In sweden a princess cake would actually have vanilla custard and whipped cream instead of frosting inside (as well as raspberries/raspberry jam) - but I'm sure the version buzzfeed has here is delicious too :)
