I’m the same. I don’t like chocolate cake or frosting on my cake. There is vanilla cake, butter cake, cinnamon cake, lemon cake, strawberry shortcake, banana cake, coconut cake, and many different types of fruit glazes or powdered toppings that can go in cakes and cake pops. No chocolate necessary.

I noticed how she was acting. She knew that cake was better than hers, but most of these people in these competitions do it too. Like that girl who spit out her own food thinking it was one of the others. I forgot what the food was. They were blind folded and testing their food with the others. That was funny. Just because it's your mama's recipe, doesn't mean it taste good. A lot of mamas can't cook but think they can.

A lot of the bakers and cooks that we see are hesitant (and sometimes visibly reluctant) to praise their competition. It's a flawed system, but Reggie really brought a refreshing amount of honest and actual commentary
In the cooking world, admitting someone else’s food is good is heavily based in ego, so it’s like saying you aren’t a good chef if you think someone else’s food tastes good. It’s really dumb, but that’s just how it is.
Reggie was a whole vibe. Positive attitude, glowing skin, moisturized hair. And that cake was looking just my type too. I love when someone comes on one of these and aren't afraid to honestly say when someone else made something good

For anybody wondering why it's called a pound cake.
There's a pound of each of the four main ingredients. A pound of flour, pound of butter, pound of sugar, pound of eggs.
I actually really like they way this group specifically described the eating experience. Most of the time people are pretty simple with explanations, but they did a good job describing what they liked and didn’t like

If you've ever had a Starbucks cake pop which are very dense, sweet, and buttery that's the recipe of a pound cake turned into a cakepop. Most good cakepops the base recipe is a pound cake because you need the pop to be dense enough to hold its shape.

When Miss Jordan said "cake pops", I immediately thought, "mixing cake and frosting into a pop is a whole different thing. And cake pops aren't all that great. Her pound-cake is going to be lackluster or super sweet."
I was suspicious - right or wrong - I admit it.
But then the attitude and tone she selected for this little event became evident: undersell everything and everyone else to artificially inflate my product and myself. And now, well - I don't even feel bad about my assumptions anymore. I'd like to think she isn't that way in her day to day life. 🤞
