The Reddit entries for this video don't seem to be offensive, however I could see them being triggering. I empathize/sympathize with you, even though I've only had an isolated episode. Much love, my friend.
My kid was diagnosed with very early onset childhood schizophrenia, meaning she’s 1 in 40,000 kids diagnosed at 8 years old. She was likely born that way, but was originally diagnosed with autism because they look identical in little kids. We knew it wasn’t the right diagnosis when shadow people were following and touching her. She also heard people calling her name, thinks everyone hates her and are staring at her, and is delusional. It has stolen her childhood. She turns 16 next week and she’s a (in her words) “a frequent flyer ,” in the pediatric behavioral health unit (child psych unit). Turns out my father was schizophrenic and no one told me.
I'm listening to this as I create files for work and all I can think of is a lot of this stuff sounds really relatable and how I've done some of these things without realizing it. I'm not diagnosing myself, just freaking the hell out.
The difference is that you recognize that it’s your own thoughts. It’s theoretically believed that an extreme, chronic excess of dopamine causes schizophrenia so imagine being so wired you don’t recognize that your thoughts are from you if that makes sense?
@@jaxblonk5127 even marijuana has been linked to triggering bipolar disorder and other psychosis symptoms. So really no recreational drugs are recommended if there is a high genetic potential.
Not diagnosed schizophrenic (suspected, runs in the family) but have had a few diagnosed psychotic episodes. Weed, specifically edibles has thrown me into psychosis a few times, definitely not a good idea :(
I remember hearing in Psychology class that symptoms for Schizophrenia usually manifest in a person’s early to mid-twenties. So I am a bit surprised that many of these responders started having delusions when they were a lot younger-under the age of 10, in some cases.
@@jeffbenton6183 Some early symptoms of schizophrenia tend to be categorized as just children and their flexible imagination, on average though, it is usually diagnosed in people’s 20’s as that’s when the symptoms tend to start negatively affecting one’s bahaviour and life.
@Diedra Sounds similar to my relative who has schizoaffective disorder. We knew she was mentally ill when she was 18. She wasn’t properly diagnosed until she was 20 or so, which places her on the low end of statistical range. Looking back, though, it’s clearer to us that she was exhibiting symptoms as early as 13. Back then, though, we didn’t have a clue.
I started having symptoms when I was 6-8, it would be shadows trying to pull me into the walls or a shadow shaped like a devil staring at me- I would tell people I could see the ghosts and devils until I got a diagnosis after my people got concerned about my “ghosts” now that I’m older I smell things that aren’t there and hear footsteps or voices telling me they’ll kill me if I go to sleep
Oh. My. God. I swear I relate to a lot of this even though I've never been diagnosed with a mental illness. Especially the one that said they felt like they had every mental illness they heard about. I thought this was normal!
Mine started with seeing insects and shadow people and hearing whispers where people weren’t until I was finally diagnosed after being caught talking to a person I thought was there but apparently I was talking to air for about 20 min
12:03 Why did that one kid end up in juvie just for talking to a counselor!? He didn't even do anything! I've been out of highschool for decades but is this what happens to kids now?!
I got committed to a psych ward for hold on their highest suicide watch, all because I wouldn't tell a school counselor that my grandfather molested me (he hadn't), and so she got mad and called the police, and later my parents, telling them I'd said I wanted to kill myself. I was like 12/13 and it stressed me out so much that I was crying too hard to correct anyone, so they took me to a ward and I stayed strapped to a bed every single night and had someone watching me shower, among other things, all because a school hired a batshit crazy counselor. I ended up at a much better school later, so some are still sane, but I really don't know how some other schools fuck up so bad.
Hey I'm the original poster. Super scary stuff. To make a long story short, it was around the time when school shootings were at an all time high, so I just assume she thought she was "stopping something before it could happen". She was and is a total bitch. My best friend had to sit in court just 20ft away from her and listen to all the awful things she had to say.
@@OffGridInvestor That councilor was only provably a bad person. Narcissists are horrible people, but it's also a psychiatric diagnosis. Why diagnose someone like they did to me when we have completely different words to illustrate what they did? Words like "asshole."
@OffGridInvestor that's not what narcissist means. Stop throwing it around to simply describe bad people. Seriously, quit it. NPD has very specific criteria for diagnosis, stop just throwing the term around. Not everybody you dislike or selfish is a NaRcIsSiSt, they're just not compatible with you, whether they're an asshole, bad person, or just not aligned is a different story. Quit using serious diagnosis as a catch-all. The commentors counselor could have been uneducated, a bad fit, or a million other reasons, we don't know. Thank you
I Don’t think I’m schizophrenic but sometimes I hear overlapped voices incoherently yelling at me and sometimes my vision looks slow while my hearing seems fast and loud they often happen at the same time. Edit: Jesus Christ so many of these are fitting for me
This brought back memories of my first experience with psychosis. I didn't know it was that until this video. I don't have schizophrenia, but I have been diagnosed with psychotic episodes
I can’t live in an apartment or share a house. I hear ppl calling my name and whispering,& sometimes music. I’m bi-polar,on meds therapy and keep stress way down.
That one about the kids who heard voices telling him to burn down his school, and being put in jail for it, hit me. My brother-in-law was in highschool during the 1990s, and when Columbine happened, he said he could understand that being bullied would make someone made enough to kill. For this he was arrested in school, and marched out o the building in handcuffs. Nothing ever came of it. The amount of fear, and even sometimes outright cowardice, people have about this issue is just strange. If they don't want school shootings to be a thing, change society to that is doesn't happen. Blaming the lone nut is never going to change anything. EDIT: Moby "Dong"@ 17:54 LMFAO
I was in highschool, about 16 or 17 during columbine. I TOO can fully understand how kids could go nuts. And I think most people BADLY bullied can understand. And the most screwed up thing is schools ALLOW BULLYING TO CONTINUE, but the second you punch someone in the dace after 2 years of bullying, YOU'RE THE PROBLEM and they're the victim. How the hell is THAT social justice? Not saying everyone deserves to die, but the system is absolutely rotten and ALLOWS these things to happen by being so inept for years.
@@OffGridInvestor There's a rumor online that one of the Columbine boys was sexually assaulted by a cop a while before the shooting. They say this was one of the motivators to build pipe bombs in distribute them around the school, so that police responding to the shooting would also be killed. As far as I know, it's an unsubstantiated rumor. But we do know that things like that happen in society everyday. Perhaps we should be asking why victims don't go on killing sprees more often?
When I was younger (like 8 yo) I kept hearing footsteps in the house at night. I would walk out of my room and see that there was nothing at all. I thought I was going crazy. After a while, it stopped all-together. Years later, I come to find out that I wasn’t crazy; it was my dumbass younger brother sneaking around downstairs. He crept from his room to the family desktop to play minecraft. I don’t have schizophrenia, but I do have insomnia.
Sending love to all, especially those dealing with this difficult diagnosis. I have it running through my family. Its hard to watch so i can't imagine how terrifying it must be to deal with. Please don't be afraid to get help ❤❤❤
The first Bipolar type Schizoaffective hit the nail on the head for me as I'm going through the latter half now and trying to stay strong enough to finish school. I can hold down work, but need work more suitable that I won't always be around people or choose when I can leave that the school is training me for, but getting hung up on disorganized thoughts, lack of motivation, and/or age as fundamental cores bore me and can't focus on what I've long considered a "waste of time" even back in primary school. My official diagnosis didn't come till after a psychoitc break at 22 and recovering still (25 now)
oh god... this makes me scared, i sometimes see things in the corner of my eye, and they're gone when i look at them. only happens at night tho, so it might just be my tired brain because i like reading creepy stories.
Mine started young, with nightmares I could physically feel that slowly but surely bleed into my reality. I started having trouble understanding fiction was just fiction. I went through episodes I thought the magic system in my tv shows were real. I had hands grabbing me all the time, and it always sounded like I was surrounded by people. I couldn't really understand why people wanted silence because you can hear everyone talking when it's quite and they are meeeeeaaaan. Trees would start to walking around and the giant tarantula sitting on my shoulder petting my face. Reflections always looked different than what they actually were. My mother never believed I was actually schizophrenic so I was punished everytime I showed symptoms. By grounding me. I had to sit in one spot and do nothing but stare at the ceiling for weeks at a time. It was torture! I got poked, bit, punched, pinched, burning, and screamed at all with no ability to detract myself from those hallucinations. Then she had the fucking nerve to say "you don't act like you hear voices, so your not schizophrenic"
@xWiFi_ She was more concerned with what would people think about her as a parent if people knew she had a schizophrenic child than actually helping me. I had to hide it completely and act like a normal child. I started to used meditation to get through it and that had actually help me settle my thoughts enough to function.
@@solinvictus2045 it didn't come out of no where. It start crawling up my leg or arm before sitting on my shoulder to pet my face. It gave me time to brace myself.
I once heard that the way Schizophrenia affects people depends on culture and/or their society, for example in many western countries it is seen as a horrible mess up mental illness thus people from those countries with schizophrenia tend to manifest hallucinations negatively such as monster like face on people, negative voices and such, but in some other parts of the world schizophrenia is seen not as bad and thus the people from those places(i think somewhere in Asia) tend to have a much easier time because their society/culture as a whole does not associate the illness with something disturbing, but don’t quote me on that i might just be hearing voice.
Having these symptoms on occasion is normal. Having multiple of these symptoms or chronically suffer them you should get evaluated by a Dr. (not online quizzes or internet strangers). Multiple mental health disorders have the same symptoms so it is important to get a professional evaluation.
Now I feel like I'm schizophrenic but ain't nobody puttin me in white sweater. I rather see the shadows, hear the steps of ghosts and feel observed than sit in Marshmello room with tied arms.
Listening to this and relating to a lot of what these people experience, I have experienced a lot of these symptoms up to actual hallucinations. I have been diagnosed OCD.
Umm I have spent the biggest part of my life alone. Been widowed a few times. I'm a senior person. I have conversations with myself all the time. Upon talking to someone about it..they said it was just a dealing mechanism for being alone soo much. Basically it is normal. Hope yours is the same.
@@rayshelld791 but it's not like I'm making up a conversation just to have one its random and from what I can tell its 3 different people with different personalities responding like as an example I was running to the gas station for rolling papers and I said i need to get some food (I haven't eaten all day ) and the voice in my head said you dont need to eat just smoke and go to sleep
@@summerfireking in that case, you may need some help. But don't panic. Go and see if that voice in your head is a problem. Hey there is help out there for you. And you don't want that inner voice to become aggressive. Hoping all the best your way.
The one where the person kept hallucinating a bear in their apartment reminded me of the old "Nope! Chuck Testa" ads from the early 2000s. "Is that an antelope driving a car? Nope! It's just Chuck Testa!" "There's a bear in my bed! Nope! Chuck Testa!"
When I was younger (I was a music producer) I would often hear random music coming from the fan in my workspace or hear different music from music I had already created.. I would then recreate the song as best I could from what I heard. I recorded over 2000 songs, (not all stemmed from this) but at least several hundred of them did. It has been said that a lot of famous people have had similar phenomena happen to them, where they could just hear a song in their head. It's been a while since I made music and haven't experienced anything like that in a while. it was a gift if anything, I really miss making music.
I don’t have schizophrenia. But I have Major Depressive Disorder with Psychotic Features, which means I do sometimes get delusions and hallucinations. I am constantly paranoid that people want to hurt me despite there being no evidence and I’ve developed a mild case of agoraphobia because of it. It all started after I smoked weed. I believe I was predestined to have it and the weed just set something off that made it happen earlier. Either that or it was one hell of a coincidence.
i worry i may develop psychosis as i get a bit older, ive already had terrible hallucinations and such from depression. my therapist also thinks i have autism, but my difficulty with interacting with people, i never had as a child at all
My aunt was, it started when one night she was dragged out of the house and interrogated for 3 nights straight by the communist regime's special police for not "cooperating". Since then she became different person. When I was a child we were outside and I witnessed her going to an episode she went completely silent and looked like she concentrated on something. It felt like she disappeared and her eyes were weird and empty.
My mom was diagnosed with 3 x of Schizophrenia, all deemed to be very dangerous. She passed away over a Year ago. During my childhood I didn't know why mom had "episodes" where she wasn't normal, and would just wish that she would act like a normal person during those times. I didn't understand anything back then. As I grew older, I became more aware and began to understand thing's related to her better... But at the same time I still kept wishing she was normal, despite knowing that it wasn't her fault that she was mentally ill. I read up a lot about schizophrenia during the last few years of her life, trying to find a way to help her if any, it was very difficult she refused to take medicine, always side effects, always saying this therapy isn't working I need a new one etc... The comment's in this video made me understand another side to schizophrenia that I couldn't really grasp before. The side of what she's seeing/hearing/feeling, maybe her thoughts where different? I can't say 100%, but I feel like there's as lot that correlates to her behavior in this video.
To be quite honest getting a solid diagnosis hasnt been reached. I'm 20 and so far bipolar is one that's been thrown out the most. So far manic episodes can emulate schizophrenic qualities. Sometimes the delusions are so strong. I 110% believed all the TVs and phones around me were talking to me. At one moment when this delusion was happening I saw glitch in the matrix where absolutely everything froze in time. The clocks jumped 2 minutes ahead when everything unfroze.
I dont know if im hallucinating but i always do this psssst and then i hear ut my self like the frick and every tume i imagine the thinks like my friends dialogue and its like there next to me
I remember that there's a guy with schizophrenia that has a youtube channel recording himself during his episodes; unlike most schizophrenics, though, he for whatever reason simply isn't affected by the hallucinations, can always tell that they are. I don't remember what the channel name was though. I remember a video, he was on the computer talking, then turned around to his door, turned back, rolled his eyes with annoyance because "There are communists in my yard. Nonsense!"
idk what's going on but iv'e been experiencing hallucinations, sounds, bad thoughts, and angry behaviour i can't remember when it happened it's happening right now and it won't stop i told my mom about the voices i'm worried my mind is going to shit and i'm scared.
sometimes im genuinely convinced that people can read my thoughts and are actively reading my thoughts. this has been a thing in my life for years. sometimes when im just cuddling my boyfriend, i think that if his ear or head touches my head, he can read my thoughts. another thing that happens is i hate any kind of camera in a device, i always think its recording me and watching me. sometimes i dont trust the people i live with because im convinced that they have hidden cameras everywhere, and sometimes i find myself looking for them. its kind of scary, but ive always been a bit mentally weird my whole life so i dont know. theres plenty of other weird shit that goes on in my brain that i cant be assed to type, nobody is gonna read this anyway lmao.
Lol! I read this... and it's like you read my mind! It's almost like it's some sort "quiet game" i used to ask people about it, say they were in another room and I thought i heard them. I swear.. everytime their mouths said they never said anything but their eyes had that look as if they were saying they did. There are times that it was real though. I was at my house and thought to my self, "I wonder it i could hear my buddy" (whom was a 30 min drive away) sat down closed my eyes and I instantly heard him talking, but he was talking to his girlfriend, so I text him real fast and asked if he was talking to his girl friend and he said she just called him and asked how i knew. I just told him he was talking to loud 😂 and yes yes and yes to all the other things you spoke on and im sure alot of the stuff you didn't speak on 😂. Its weird, its like sometimes I feel that it's all a ruse and everyone I cross paths were in on the scheme trying to keep me from thinking anythings off. And if I did act like I notice, then they would immediately come after me and terminate the program 😂😂... this world is truly amusing sometimes lol
Not schizophrenia, but my godmother was at a party with my mum when they were 19, she was given a pill and my mum said no. Godmother was off her face and fell backwards on some concrete steps causing a traumatic brain injury. Within a year she was diagnosed with rapid cycling bipolar disorder with periods of psychosis. I love her to pieces but unfortunately she’s stuck in the routine of being manic thinking she doesn’t need her meds so stops taking them, drops down hard into depressive episodes and starts becoming psychotic, gets hospitalised back on her meds and then it’s rinse and repeat, she’s 51 now and this has been her life for the last 32 years, most people have cut contact with her as they can’t keep going through the same thing again and again. I get where she’s coming from and being unable to have her own children she’s always been another mum to me, I’ve been the only one to get her to take her medication but with my own problems I can’t look after her full time and it breaks my heart
The more I hear this, the more it makes me wonder about myself. I don't think I am a schizophrenic but I have had a lot of this experiences on and off through my life. I have a family history of depression.
I'm the exact same. I've had so many of these experiences throughout the past 6 years, most commonly during depressive episodes and I have a family history of depression. I'm almost 21 so I feel like I would've had a psychotic break by now if I had schizophrenia but it's concerning how many of these symptoms I've had that come and go.
Well, it started out being visual. There was a man who would follow me around. It turned out he was the buggey man. I also would hear music in odd places or have perceptional issues. A lot of my voices were trying to kill me as a child. One told me I could jump off the roof, and I would be fine. I got ready to, and my grandpa grabbed me. The hallucinations of the McDonalds characters would come in and out of my sleeping hours. I was terrified of Ronald and friends. I'll say I was quite entertained, but not in a good way. My mom was the only one who noticed it because I was bizarre. I would run into doors and walls and a bunch of other things. My affect became almost flat in HS.
The Dr said to me this "It sounds like schizophrenia, but it's not", and diagnosed me with non-organic psychosis. I don't care about the diagnosis, they even tried to say I'm on the autistic spectrum. The way I see it, I just experience things in life other normal people don't even know to think about.
Mine had me certain I was seeing quick clips and random scenes through other people eyes. Then I came to realize other people must be seeing clips of me and my life through my eyes, and that TERRIFIED me. So i decided I should NEVER open my eyes because if they saw through my eyes they could use my vision to track me down and- it was hellish. I was sobbing too violently to even speak, just absolute hysterics. 0/10, would not recommend the experience. I cant lie though, the one with the bears? Was really fucking funny. I know it sucks to go through that, but man! Of all the things to repeatedly hallucinate!
I constantly think my parents are taking me back to the mental "hospital" when riding in the car. Fortunately I guess I have this mental split where I can usually see my life from the outside and analyze it logically, so I never jump out of the car or anything. Should I be concerned about potential schizophrenia? I do have ptsd/cptsd and autism, and probably some other things.
While on shrooms I relate to some of these. Once during a trip I felt like I could send my emotions and love to a recent ex. After not smoking weird for a while I decided to smoke a blunt. I was sitting outside and could hear faint music in the distance. I came to the conclusion that it was a chainsaw or some power tool and laughed it off.
Mine started when I thought the neighbors were talking about me, and lying about me, then I thought they were breaking into the apartment, and planting cameras. Now, I think my toe is microchipped, cameras in my home and car, police, military and fbi is involved. I think my entire family is scheming. I can't wait to refill my meds!
I’ve never related to maladaptive daydreaming, I didn’t understand what it meant, I didn’t think I was creating a fantasy land. Now thinking back I’m pretty sure I had kinda strong s*xual fantasies when I was younger and lived trough them online with people I knew. That stopped when I was removed from a stressful situation.
I imagined that I will be a p*rn star and how I was better at s*x than everyone else, which is kinda specific. I’ve been told it’s a symptom of bipolar disorder if you think higher of yourself than others.
Right now I’m the mental hospital because within months I’ve lost all the motivation in my life and can’t do anything, I can’t eat or sleep properly at all. Nothing happened to trigger this, my brain is just fucked. I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder last year (2022) after being in psychosis for a year. I hope I can get to stay in this hospital for some weeks because I just can’t fix my sleeping rythm and eating habits on my own. I don’t even go outside, ever, and I have stopped ordering groceries so I’m just eating what ever there is in my freezer, plus canned and dried food
Ive been having worsening hallucinations lately Bugs, rodents, people and misshapen humanoid figures. I have major depressive disorder and anxiety. I feel like by watching this it will be seen as "research" and no one will believe me when I tell them about what I'm seeing
I actually believe this. Perhaps their pineal gland is activated which enables them to interact and sense things beyond “normal” human comprehension but because of the negative stigma of mental health it encourages people to fear enlightenment.
@@bun-e9361 if "enlightenment" entails hearing voices that make you believe your wife is cheating on you with random people you meet, and you believe your son is lying to about it, then that's not any enlightenment I'd ever want PS. I'm the son. And I'm afraid to get into a relationship. I don't want to become like my father if I develop the illness, and schizophrenia is pretty genetic so it's kind of scary
@@mattoreo5854 You're right that is not enlightenment because those are perceptions fueled by fear and deception. I am so sorry if my comment has offended you in any way and it's devastating to hear about your father :( It's sad to hear that you feel this way it must be difficult. There is such a thing as a spiritual awakening which at first has very similar symptoms as schizophrenia but it's important to differentiate between the two and not allow fear to take over your mind.
I halfway expected one of the responses to be: "I first noticed when I was driving in my time machine, God came over the radio and told me to visit the President, to talk about why my bones were needed on the International Space Station"
I had an experience once where i woke up in the middle of the night, and i felt something was really off with my room Everything looked darker than usual, dark to a point where i couldn't hear or see anything Only then did I realized what was different in my room, there was something there with me I don't know what it was, every time I try to remember what it looked like I just remember it was big and strong My first instinct was to scream, but I didn't want to scream, because I knew that if I screamed that thing would tear me in half; so i just I lay there, with that thing next to me, making a strange noise, as if it was somehow growling and screaming at me at the same time, so loud that i thought i could hear it inside my skull I don't know how long I was there, but the whole time I felt like my brain was battling itself, trying to decide if the whole situation was real or not It was then that I realized that it didn't matter if it was real or not, i didn't know if i would either die by the hands of an unknown thing or find out that was all just a nightmare, what i did know was that that would only end when I moved So i did the only thing i could actually think about: I gathered all my strength, filled my lungs with air and screamed for my mom as loud as I could The scariest part of this experience? None of the things I thought would happen if I moved happened: i didn't get ripped apart by the thing, but i didn't woke up from a nightmare either It all just… stopped The thing, the loud sound I was hearing from it, the shadow covering my entire room Everything was gone before I even finished screaming "mom" Then i went to my mom's room to ask if she heard me… she was still sleeping, and god knows that even the sound of a feather falling can wake her up I still don't know if it was real or a nightmare from which I woke up very very quickly And i really don't want to find out
Onset of schizophrenia before the age of 18 is called "early onset". It's also pretty rare, and only occurs in 4% of cases. Guess this is that 4 percent. Majority of cases 80-85 percent occur between 18-30 yrs old. Over 40 is late onset and accounts for 15-20 percent. Men usually develop earlier than women, who tend to develop it between 25-35 yrs old.
These (or at least the kids who are not pretending to"do weed") people are tapped in to the higher dimensions. Either that or the jar with the brain in it got tapped and they don't know how to interpret the tapping.
“you know that feeling when you’re talking to yourself but slowly realize it is not “you” that you can hear in your mind?” Um no I don’t know that feeling. 2:27
I’m currently struggling with a lot of these mentioned, I have mental illnesses but not (Atleast I sincerely hope not ) schizophrenia. It really does start off gradually ..nothing out of the norm as I’ve had “schizophrenic” symptoms in my elementary years but went away for awhile, as I started to turn 19- now 20 I felt like people were pissed at me, talking shit & laughing, even their facial expressions would change to annoyed or angry ?? Thought the house was haunted and felt conflicted on if it’s worse to be living in a haunted house or for it to be all in my head. Darker thoughts that are getting more intrusive with time to the point where I feel like I have to constantly try to over talk the voice that’s me, just for it to interrupt and say that I hope someone that I love dies and panicked cause now feeling like they will and everything is a sign so if it’s bad I’m afraid to go out fearing me or someone else will die soon. I heard distant screaming & I try and laugh it off and be like typical me but bitch😬 I’ve seen animals and even on my days where I’m okay I have this random urge to just kms on a whim despite being so terrified of going to hell the thought of not wanting to die unless I do it MYSELF is instense to where that content turns into pissed off really quick cause why tf am i even here doing this? The hardest part from all that is realizing all these years I’ve been up I’ve felt nothing, autopilot, torn between complete apathy and indifference to whatever tf. No regard of day or time, these are just a few I can list atm but I’m afraid to get a proper diagnosis cause I already heard a couple things during my previous therapist/psychiatrist that I don’t like (bipolar inconclusive, started bringing up borderline personality by 18) cause once you get diagnosed with mental illness people treat you differently! Started inpatient in 1st grade and have been in a total of 22 times (no shit I was a bit off the chain) I want to be able to know what I have so I can work on it but ya know..I wanna be done with medicine, & though I have trauma I got to a point where I’m not sure if I had a trauma and just made it all up & started this shit show myself a long time ago. Sorry for the long post LMFAOOO
I heard somewhere that it might be a problem depending on how regularly it happens, and that it instantly turns into a problem if You feel the need to act on those thoughts
The wolf girl may actually have a condition called clinical lycanthropy. I have this myself. Mine brought on by trauma in childhood. And no, im not schizophrenic. Borderline personality disorder plus trauma caused mine.
the friend who tried to get help from the school councilor, like seriously? Like said he came to get help! Not intent to harm! IDK if it was protocol or something at the time, but why wasn't the first step of the councilor to have him visit a psychiatric specialist???
So it's a bit like extreme sleep deprivation? Seeing and hearing things, getting confused, feeling exhausted? It sounds very bothersome, I hope more people get help if they need it :S
Ok, I watch a lot of reddit paranormal youtube videos..so now I'm wondering how so many people have that many paranormal experiences, or is it something else?
I've been seeing things since I was five people walking next to me voices and feeling things thinking people hated me and thinking their where bugs and baby's in my food
Could i ask for peoples help? I have a friend I've had since high school who i think is schizophrenic. It seems to have gotten bad the last couple of years. Should i try to get the local mental hospital involved? I am unsure on how to approach this.
I went through a brutal parental divorce my dad was a pretty stand up guy so there's at least a light in the dark but my mom convinced me everything was my dad's fault and I should hate him and blah blah then would date the most abusive pos's that would want me to act how they want me to. A lot of them provided drugs. Anyway I started seeing small creatures when I was stressed like a squirrel run through my kitchen as I walked in I figure it was my brain trying to bring back the peace of practically growing up in the woods but during a breakup I hit a dear with my car and swerved into a pole then "woke up" from the hallucinations just stopped on the side of the road cars fine I have bpd and schizo
Me without any diagnosis and scared im just looking too much into things: "eh, this video is probably just gonna show how extreme this actually is, i probably am just going throgh something else" Me after like a minute or two in: "fuck." edit: and now i have a diagnosis, i repeat, fuck
If there is nothing to be seen our brain sometimes put things in there just becayse it feels heck confused when alone. But try to know where this spider thing comes from by yourself first, might be a fear or something about your personality that is lurking around waiting to be answered by self care. Or something, i'm not a doctor.
When I had bedbugs in my room, I felt like I hallucinated bugs everywhere. A stray cat had kittens in my yard, and ever since then I'll see a random shadow ever so often and I'll think it's a cat.
You might be experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations, these typically occur within the final stages of REM sleep cycle just as you regain consciousness. It’s also linked to sleep paralysis.
@@DineroSucio754 Yeah, it's nothing to be too concerned about, it's just your brain entering the different stages of sleep. I have also experienced this for years but it's not usually linked to schizophrenia.
as a schizophrenic who just saw this at the top of my feed, i am terrified of what this video might say
I hope your ok
The Reddit entries for this video don't seem to be offensive, however I could see them being triggering. I empathize/sympathize with you, even though I've only had an isolated episode. Much love, my friend.
Schizoaffective for me.
I FEEEELLL IT!! I know damn well I shouldn’t be watching this but here I go!
I'm not diagnosing myself, just freaking the hell out.
same here, i’m reading and save so much because it’s so relatable but without a diagnosis i think i’m just crazy or scared about it
same
The difference is that you recognize that it’s your own thoughts. It’s theoretically believed that an extreme, chronic excess of dopamine causes schizophrenia so imagine being so wired you don’t recognize that your thoughts are from you if that makes sense?
Same, and im genetically predisposed.
@@seanmetas423drugs can do that tbh... 😅
I have a schizophrenic ex who developed it after 2.5 years of dating it was like watching someone die overnight but yet still alive.
Schizophrenia runs in my family and I’m basically preparing myself just in case I have it!
Something I've heard is that you should probably not use psychedelics as it can basically wind up activating that in those predisposed to it.
@@jaxblonk5127 even marijuana has been linked to triggering bipolar disorder and other psychosis symptoms. So really no recreational drugs are recommended if there is a high genetic potential.
Same unfortunately. My biggest fear is ending up totally catatonic from it like my grandma or just losing my ability to control myself in general
Not diagnosed schizophrenic (suspected, runs in the family) but have had a few diagnosed psychotic episodes. Weed, specifically edibles has thrown me into psychosis a few times, definitely not a good idea :(
Similar situation. I have essentially prepared myself for death of sanity. I treat life as though it won't last much longer than this
I remember hearing in Psychology class that symptoms for Schizophrenia usually manifest in a person’s early to mid-twenties. So I am a bit surprised that many of these responders started having delusions when they were a lot younger-under the age of 10, in some cases.
Same here. Maybe there's something going on triggering early onset?
@@jeffbenton6183 Some early symptoms of schizophrenia tend to be categorized as just children and their flexible imagination, on average though, it is usually diagnosed in people’s 20’s as that’s when the symptoms tend to start negatively affecting one’s bahaviour and life.
@@mariakiwi1428 Thanks, that helps.
I thought this was normal!
same but i wouldn’t jump to any conclusions. get a full mental health evaluation from a professional

@OffGridInvestor that's not what narcissist means. Stop throwing it around to simply describe bad people. Seriously, quit it. NPD has very specific criteria for diagnosis, stop just throwing the term around.

Why did the first story relates to me but I'm not a schizophrenic
When is dark or something maybe ?
That sounds normal to me. It sounds like they'd see creepy stuff even in broad daylight - and even on people's faces.
I can't handle reading creepy stuff, especially being religious and having had a UFO encounter as a kid and living in a 170 year old house.

In Africa they think you're a prophet or witch doctor or something

The one where the person kept hallucinating a bear in their apartment reminded me of the old "Nope! Chuck Testa" ads from the early 2000s. "Is that an antelope driving a car? Nope! It's just Chuck Testa!" "There's a bear in my bed! Nope! Chuck Testa!"
The one about hearing a party & being able to pick music happened to me a lot.
“Schitzophrenics, how did it start?”

BAHAJAHAHAHAHA
When I was younger (I was a music producer) I would often hear random music coming from the fan in my workspace or hear different music from music I had already created.. I would then recreate the song as best I could from what I heard. I recorded over 2000 songs, (not all stemmed from this) but at least several hundred of them did. It has been said that a lot of famous people have had similar phenomena happen to them, where they could just hear a song in their head. It's been a while since I made music and haven't experienced anything like that in a while. it was a gift if anything, I really miss making music.
I don't know why it surprised me that several of these started immediately after the patient started doing recreational drugs.
8:17 this is such a fascinating question and answer..
I have mdd as well I just never told my therapist about my hallucinations. I was to scared to.

i worry i may develop psychosis as i get a bit older, ive already had terrible hallucinations and such from depression. my therapist also thinks i have autism, but my difficulty with interacting with people, i never had as a child at all
My aunt was, it started when one night she was dragged out of the house and interrogated for 3 nights straight by the communist regime's special police for not "cooperating". Since then she became different person. When I was a child we were outside and I witnessed her going to an episode she went completely silent and looked like she concentrated on something. It felt like she disappeared and her eyes were weird and empty.
3:27 I had the same exact thing... but randomly at night.
Moby Dong. Kills me every time
My mom was diagnosed with 3 x of Schizophrenia, all deemed to be very dangerous.
Should look into mass hypnosis. There's some freaky stuff they are able to get people to dance like cobra to the tune of the piper
It’s scary to see how young it starts
Haha.. imaginary relationships, I can relate, lol
So i decided I should NEVER open my eyes because if they saw through my eyes they could use my vision to track me down and-
it was hellish. I was sobbing too violently to even speak, just absolute hysterics. 0/10, would not recommend the experience.
I cant lie though, the one with the bears? Was really fucking funny. I know it sucks to go through that, but man! Of all the things to repeatedly hallucinate!
Well that was terrifying
I constantly think my parents are taking me back to the mental "hospital" when riding in the car. Fortunately I guess I have this mental split where I can usually see my life from the outside and analyze it logically, so I never jump out of the car or anything. Should I be concerned about potential schizophrenia? I do have ptsd/cptsd and autism, and probably some other things.
also I forgot to mention I constantly feel like I'm being watched because people at that place would tell me that in rather unkind tones of voices.

I think hallucinating is a part of major depressive disorder, but you should tell people about it, it helps
It would be funny if they figured out the visions were real, the people are just on a higher plane of consciousness.
I actually believe this. Perhaps their pineal gland is activated which enables them to interact and sense things beyond “normal” human comprehension but because of the negative stigma of mental health it encourages people to fear enlightenment.
@@bun-e9361 I believe too and I also think a lot more people see odd things but because of the stigma they don't tell anyone.

I halfway expected one of the responses to be: "I first noticed when I was driving in my time machine, God came over the radio and told me to visit the President, to talk about why my bones were needed on the International Space Station"
I had an experience once where i woke up in the middle of the night, and i felt something was really off with my room
Everything looked darker than usual, dark to a point where i couldn't hear or see anything
Only then did I realized what was different in my room, there was something there with me
I don't know what it was, every time I try to remember what it looked like I just remember it was big and strong
My first instinct was to scream, but I didn't want to scream, because I knew that if I screamed that thing would tear me in half; so i just I lay there, with that thing next to me, making a strange noise, as if it was somehow growling and screaming at me at the same time, so loud that i thought i could hear it inside my skull
I don't know how long I was there, but the whole time I felt like my brain was battling itself, trying to decide if the whole situation was real or not
It was then that I realized that it didn't matter if it was real or not, i didn't know if i would either die by the hands of an unknown thing or find out that was all just a nightmare, what i did know was that that would only end when I moved
So i did the only thing i could actually think about: I gathered all my strength, filled my lungs with air and screamed for my mom as loud as I could
The scariest part of this experience?
None of the things I thought would happen if I moved happened: i didn't get ripped apart by the thing, but i didn't woke up from a nightmare either
It all just… stopped
The thing, the loud sound I was hearing from it, the shadow covering my entire room
Everything was gone before I even finished screaming "mom"
Then i went to my mom's room to ask if she heard me… she was still sleeping, and god knows that even the sound of a feather falling can wake her up
I still don't know if it was real or a nightmare from which I woke up very very quickly
And i really don't want to find out
Onset of schizophrenia before the age of 18 is called "early onset".
Their eyes started moving, and weeping shadows
AH YES. MOBY DONG. JUST AS I REMEMBER IT
What's really hard for family is people who don't believe they have schizophrenia. Just trust me. Know of a few cases
These (or at least the kids who are not pretending to"do weed") people are tapped in to the higher dimensions. Either that or the jar with the brain in it got tapped and they don't know how to interpret the tapping.
Shit , I have this… My twin doesn’t believe me that I can hear and see , I stare and whisper to things that I thought were real
“you know that feeling when you’re talking to yourself but slowly realize it is not “you” that you can hear in your mind?”
Um no I don’t know that feeling.

Can you do scariest animal encounters?
There is nothing wrong with being on meds it’s an illness like any other, you deserve peace.
@@LCee7 Thank You!🤍🖤💛
@@twinkleohana2088 yes, the meds help. We all have meds or vitamins for something. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us though.
Hard to tell reality from dreams and vice versa.
Question, is having those type of thoughts of fire and killings a symptom of being schizophrenic?
No, having them doesn't mean your schizophrenic just that some schizophrenics will have those thoughts.
"Moby Dong."
Could i ask for peoples help? I have a friend I've had since high school who i think is schizophrenic. It seems to have gotten bad the last couple of years. Should i try to get the local mental hospital involved? I am unsure on how to approach this.
May you all be healed.
Okay, I may.need to go see a doctor.... I do alot of the frist one
Schizophrenia sounds scary as fuckkk
WTF 💀 THATS OHHHH LMAO 🤣
Wait I got the beads one as a child
I’ve suspected schizophrenia, maybe mild schizo, but Drs dismiss me.
Me without any diagnosis and scared im just looking too much into things: "eh, this video is probably just gonna show how extreme this actually is, i probably am just going throgh something else"
Me after like a minute or two in: "fuck."
edit: and now i have a diagnosis, i repeat, fuck
Better to know, than be in the dark for 25 DAMN YEARS while people around me knew I had signs of autism.
For those who don't know, people with psychosis cannot do drugs as this makes things worse.
So the first guy is telling me im schizo? im 16 and i get all those signs, and my mums schizo too
Sometimes I hallucinate black widow spiders when I open my eyes in the dark. Hopefully that’s not a big issue
@@bun-e9361 is that why sometimes when I'm about to fall asleep i hear voices?
@@DineroSucio754 Yeah, it's nothing to be too concerned about, it's just your brain entering the different stages of sleep. I have also experienced this for years but it's not usually linked to schizophrenia.
Isolation quit meds
So... TIL that half of the stuff I see isn't normal
So everyone in the haunted shows is mentally ill?
