- Day 2 of my Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore through hike, walking from Cliffs Campsite to Mosquito group site.
After the janky boardwalks of day 1, today's boardwalks are so much better. They're pretty much brand new and make for much easier walking without having to worry about the leans, wiggles, and teeter-totter effects we had yesterday.
There's a short walk along Miners Beach - short because it was tough - watch the video to learn why.
And there's a BIG climb after that, too. (Well, big for here.)
We stay at Mosquito Group Site, very close to Mosquito River which is our water access at the campsite. There's a GREAT location nearby to watch the sunset, and it is really breathtaking.
A lot of people lose the trail near the Mosquito group site - we helped several people while we were there. It's a bit awkward because they always seem to wind up wandering in circles around the camp toilet which, if you watch the video, is really lacking in privacy!
Watch the video to the end to see where people are getting lost, and how to make sure you're not one of them if you're planning your own Pictured Rocks hike.
I'm backpacking with a group of friends, doing the entire trail through the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (known as the U.P.). We start at Munising Falls Visitor Center and spend 6 days hiking the 42-ish miles to Grand Sable Visitor Center.

Thanks for sharing your adventure! Fun to see all the great views!
Absolutely stunning scenery 😊
But I couldn't deal with the toilet facilities 😂😂
I will say that usually there aren't toilets where I go, so this was a bit of a luxury😊
@@SomeBoldAdventure Those toilets were like a strange dream I get where I have to use a toilet with no walls!!
