Grant in 2 years: "Real Scale Marines Only - Deathless - Nightmare - No Build - Pacifist - Blindfolded - One Handed - No Hotkeys - Speedrun World Record - part 463" We're here for it 😁
So the 100% true lore here is that the Mengsk holograms get power from 3 Marines that endlessly run on giant hamster wheels, that's why when you break the holograms they run out and join you.
Imagine walking out of an outhouse and just seeing the leader of the rebel group that is basically public enemy of the dominion and proceeding to just gun him down
the back to back juxtaposition of lines like a shell-shocked, traumatized woman telling Raynor "Don't go up that road..." and the next mission "BAD GUYS THATAWAY" is certainly an interesting one
I'm always in for marines only... but this is going to get funny against any capital ship. How much damage will a max upgrade marine do to even a Void Ray on this mod lol.
If you somehow manage to get there, Maw of the Void will probably be impossible. Unless they've been nerfed since last time you were there, Rip Field Generators do 30 DPS... your Marines currently have 35 hp. Their life expectancy is 2 seconds, and Combat Shields won't make any difference.
@@andrewgreeb916 Lets do some maths (if anyone sees any mistakes, or changes since the last time Grant played let me know). The vault has 10000 hp and shields, as well as zero armour, so 20000 damage needs to be done. The rip field does 30 damage every second, Marines have 35 hp (+10 from combat shields and -10 from stim) so they can survive roughly 2 seconds (dunno how drop pods interact with this). With +3 they should do 8 damage per shot, while stimming they fire a shot about every 0.41 seconds, meaning they will be able to fire 4 times before dying, for at total of 32 damage per marine. Assuming no marines are killed while attacking, Grant will need 625 marines to kill the vault. Edit: forgot to mention that because marines have a supply cost of 0.5, only 400 marines can be on the field at once, reducing the total damage down to 12800. If grant can't send in reinforcements before the shield regens, the he will have to send in 4 waves total, that's 1600 marines.
@@solaariel2692 Don't they take damage when you stim them, so they get killed with the first tick of the rip field? I feel like that would actually make them do less damage compared to not stimming them.
If it's already going bad on the obligatory Marine-only mission, I can't imagine how things like Supernova will go. Sounds awful. Excited to see more of it.
@@lonesometomb773 As someone who played real scale wings of liberty, marines sucks ass in this version. No health, almost close to no damage and gets bundled together into a ball of sadness.
When Grant left that single marine alive at 6:30 and then Raynor dropped to 4HP at 7:15 I already knew what would happen. :D Edit: the line "Bad guys are that way" prepares us for another one that comes later in the campaign: "Get him and all his terrorist friends". ;-)
Grant: "The only thing we need here is blood, sweat, and the firepower of MY TERRAN MARINE CORPS!" I swear just do the Captain Buck edition challenge in Real Scale, Grant. You might need the Firebats and Goliaths lol.
Finally! An RTS where the flame thrower units are good! :D Fire-only might be a -good- fun idea for a challenge run, allowing for SCV/Missile Turret support for sustain/anti-air.
I'd recommend taking a look at the hyperion crew mod as well, it has gotten some interesting updates, one of which massively changes mission 3, the one where you unlock bunker
I love having the VODs back! I really loved watching them, I was really excited when there was an extra channel mentioned for them this challenge looks nuts and I love it

You know, if you don't rescue the allies but get in range of the medics, u can get some nice healings before u have to murder the medics, idk how viable that is though, or if it's possible, worth a try tho.

Theres something really encouraging about hearing Grant mock the idea of Real Scale deathless and then doing it. Had to get it done on NORMAL- after 3 days of attempts, dont think Outlaws is possible due to the Hellions on Hard. But its DEFINATELY possible on NORMAL
So, uh, is the battlecruiser mission with the rip field generators even possible with marines only? I'm not familiar if the adjusted stats for size make it instant wipe marines. Also to be fair you're effectively using slightly better civilians from the first level against tanks and hellions. I'm very interested in seeing the Real Scale Terran mod be updated to have hard points and the other stuff from LOTV, but if it's too much work taking away from other cool stuff it's not a problem.

After you do 'The Evacuation' you should allow yourself ONE medic, and have your headcanon be that that medic is Hanson. If she dies, you do haven's fall. If she lives, you do safe haven, and no, you can't just have her die immediately. After Havens fall/safe haven, you cant use a medic anymore. I think that might add an extra, interesting factor to the game and help you out, be it how small. Having them sit in the base and heal your troops instead of having to buy more troops or send in hurt marines might have a noticeable effect.
Grant: "why are hellions so dangerous?" Me: "I don't know, Grant. Why would you have trouble with a mass amount of anti-light anti-bio units with area of effect? Especially since you're locked to using the light bio basic unit. Can't even heal them." Don't know why hellions are such a problem for this pro SC2 player.
I think Real scale without oversized units like BC can be done. However the run will either become bunkers only or end in few missions XDD. Why not change it to small units only or something?
The math on scv harvest to Marine cost is insane with this mod. It goes from 10 harvests (5 minerals per) to make a 50 mineral marine to 5 harvests (6 minerals per) to make a 30 mineral marine
