Great video, thank you! You might have mentioned this in another video, but pinning, in addition to adding a label to the list, is really powerful. Each store I frequent has it's own list, and all stores I purchase groceries have the label Grocery. So I can go to the Grocery label, and pinned at the top are stores I frequent the most. We also have a Running Low list, so items agnostic of the store are added there, like Bananas or Tylenol. Then, depending on where we'll be shopping this week, those items will be moved to the appropriate store's list. For items specific to a store, like Trader Joes' Sweet Chili Sauce, would just be added directly to the Trader Joe's list. I also have a label called Menu, and a list called What's for Dinner where I plan what I'll be cooking the next week. So those grocery store lists not only have a label Grocery, they also have the label Menu, so I can go directly to Menu and access all the lists I need while planning meals.
Love it Scott! I regularly use Google Keep for grocery notes, but had no idea about the naming convention features. Being "elderly" I sharted using it and sharing it with my 3 children during covid times (they shopped for me). Thanks again for all your great tips!
Not really sure why keep doesn't offer nested folders. So many apps can do what keep does but better. I can organize with keep but I feel like I'm forcing the organization rather than a natural feeling. There are about 4 essential features I'd like to add to keep but that's me, probably works great for someone else. The only reason I have it on my phone is to use it as a quick sticky note or voice recorder/transcriber
Because Google is a search engine and they believe you can just search for anything you want without needing to organize. They do the organization for you. Yeah, not the best but I’ve been using Keep almost since its inception and have a huge archive of work, school and personal notes. Now I am looking at Notebook LM to analyze my Keep archive especially for my work notes.

If I share a note with another person, how will he/she know that a note has been shared. Will he/she get an email or just a notification? Will this sharing feature only work if the other person has Google Keep?
I'm pretty sure they'll get an email about it. And if the person you're sharing with wants to access on their phone, they need to have the app (available for Android and iOS)
Check out an app called Out of milk (outofmilk.com) Best list app and free for most anything and you can have multiple lists. Has the ability to sync lists with others. I've used it for years and both Apple and Android.
Seems like a weak version of the Albertsons or Kroger or what have you apps, other than the sharing or location features which don't interest me. What seems incredulous is that you can't expand or contract groups. Seriously? Really? You just have to look at 30 strikethrough items?? Anyway, on the real store apps, take advantage of "aisle sorting".
I added a widget on my phone for the grocery and the to do list. Very easy to use and practical. Thanks for the video, always on point!
So glad you're making use of that widget. Thanks for sharing!
@@SimpletivityI am putting into practice your suggestion, the emoji are fun and it's easy to check stuff out. Thanks again.

I love all of this! Yes, pinning notes can be a great way to manage multiple similar lists. Thanks so much for sharing!
The best guide for anything google. Thanks!!!!
Glad you think so!

You are so very welcome, Bill. Glad to see you learned something new in this video!

You bet!
what is this yellow cursor software name?
Camtasia.
is there a way in Google Keep, to list just the Titles of the notes without part of the contents of the note, to see more of them w/o scrolling down?

My Keep doesn't save location or time Reminders. If I add the location and close Keep, the reminder is gone once I open it again.

Google Keep has grown so lilttle in the amount of time it has been a available 😅
Shame the location doesnt work on the shared persons phone. It only seems to work on the creators 😢
Hmm, that's news to me. Have you doubled checked the notification and location settings on the shared person's phone?
