- Limits do not exist for BMX rider and Red Bull athlete Kriss Kyle who has achieved something seemingly impossible. With a skatepark suspended from one of the world’s largest hot-air balloons, Kriss Kyle floats over 2,000 feet above ground, showcasing an array of tricks suspended in mid-air for his latest pioneering BMX film.

Redbull never disappoints, pure madness but still had a slight hope that he would jump off and sky dive to put the icing on the cake!

He wasn't really high enough to do that unless he had a base jumping suit. They said they were only at 2100 feet, skydivers usually jump at like 8-10 out of hot air balloons.

Props to the pilot & crew! That's a huge balloon and the amount of work to get a BIKE PARK in the air is crazy. Kudos ✌️
Little bit of info on the balloon. Registration number G-ODLD it's a UK Cameron z-600 (Cameron is a hot air balloon manufacturer in both the US and UK) which is a 600k cubic foot balloon, and would also make it one of the largest commercial hot air balloons in the world (much larger ones have been built, but have only flown once.) That is a roughly 36 passenger balloon depending on elevation and temperature of the typical flight area. It looks like they have put a Kubicek 210 basket underneath, which is an 8-10 passenger balloon. (Kubicek is a hot air balloon manufacturer out of the Czech Republic) Kubicek baskets are part certified to be flown under Cameron balloons (at least in the US) so they wouldn't need an experimental aircraft registration for that. However it looks like they have also put a custom burner frame on the basket, because you'd only have 2 burners on a basket or frame that size. This one has 4, and you can't just put a frame from a larger basket on a smaller one.
It looks like they also had quick releases on the ramp in case of a fast landing
I'd be curious to know exactly how much the thing weighed. Because it looks heavy.
Great info. Who was the pilot and crew? Cuz yes it took some knowledge, experience and great flight conditions to secure that landing site. I also noticed the distance of the neighboring helicopters and was concerned for the wash from their rotors. Lotsa talent affiliated with this successful project.

There's a hole in the bottom of the basket for a camera (visible up-close at 0:35). Does this basket normally have a hole there? If so, what is it used for?

This was so cool! Genuinely curious, though: doesn’t flying the drones so close to the balloon present a significant risk? What if one lost connection and went rogue into the balloon?
My father used to fly hot air balloons. They don’t pop, they even have side vents that open up to maneuver . I doubt a drone could generate enough of a hole to significantly impact the balloon.
