When I saw Dig Your Own I pictured you out in a field digging cacti out of the ground 😂 Good thing they were inside - way too hot for digging right now. But it's a smart idea by the nursery and very tempting to cactus lovers - baby cacti run $5 - $6 at most stores, so 79 cents is an amazing deal.

    That's so cool,I'm jealous we don't have a cactus shop or mart here in Florida just a poor selection at Lowes lol.Ana I'm curious what makes cactus rare? I've had people talk to me about my personal collection and mention that I have rare cactus.

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For me “rare” is a relative term. What may be rare to me (where I am located) is not rare to somebody else. Rare for me is something that cannot easily be found or sourced. For instance, a variegated gymnocalycium may be rare here in the US but if you go to some Asian countries, they are quite common and easy to buy. The saguaros that we have here quite commonly seen are considered “rare” in Asia. I hope that makes sense. 😉

    Hey Anna, I just moved here out west and I'm totally infatuated with cactus and learning. I watch all your videos, so thought I would ask you a cactus question. Can they get too much sun? I am in Arizona and now that it's 115 out some of mine that are in the full sun are looking a little bit faded so much so that I'm starting to worry about them. So my question really is can they get too much sun?

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes. Depending on what type of cactus you have, some can tolerate a little more sun than the rest. Also you have to acclimate them slowly under sun. Plants in pots will heat up and dry up faster. I have mine under 50% shade cloth. Here is a video that could help. Good luck! 🙂
