  • Ever wondered where the plants in your succulent garden ACTUALLY come from? Better yet, what about learning how to grow succulents from a master succulent plant grower who produces millions per year?
In today's video, I travel up to the Plants by Post nursery in San Jose, CA to talk with Dylan Toms, a botanist and master succulent cultivator. You'll learn how to water succulents, how to propagate succulents, and the many intricacies of their care that you WON'T find online.

That’s what I was thinking as well, every time he grabbed a container full of succulent cuttings. A succulent grower (especially a plant expert) already knows how to handle his or her babies properly. Primarily, these plants have very plumpy and juicy leaves and stem that are prone to bruising or even breakage. Once bruised, they will bear it their whole life.

Sunshine potting soil is a good general growing medium; add perlite for additional drainage.

O must say, I am not an original lover of succulents, even though I'm planning to homestead in west West Texas High Desert, lol! But, between you and Summer Rayne I have decided to give it a go, I have found a few that I like......I just need to read up more on identifying and care a little more. Great video, thank you!
