David’s collection is remarkable. His plants are staged beautifully and his greenhouse is the most hi-tech greenhouse that I’ve seen for a backyard collector of cacti and succulents. 😃👍🏼
I dont know if I have ever seen such beauty & (cough) value packed into such a compact space. Serious envy and appreciation for such mature and well-represented specimens
He has a 16.5' x 8' backyard greenhouse. Serious collecter. I just ordered Echinocactus polycephalus, Cotton Cactus, seeds from Utah. That is a common species but it survives in, and is endemic to, arid cold desert areas. Its long red colored spines are quite pretty. Its a sort of clumping red barrel cactus.
I keep watching this video, it is amazing men. These days I am planning the building of my own Shadehouse-greenhouse and this video it is an incredible inspiration to me.
Oh great😌🙌🌵I enjoyed this episode! That greenhouse is amazing with the pump installed and collapsing table to work on. Awesome! The cacti look fantastic👍Thanks for this video😌🙏
Yo cactus quest, you should make a video on how to build a green house if you wanna travel across country I will be putting one together as soon as I get the wood I already have the glass!
Hahaha!!! From one thing I've learned, since I moved from your area(Temple city) 38 years ago to the Ozarks is ...YOUR GREENHOUSE IS NEVER BIG ENOUGH!!!! My first was 12 x 20 x 10. Not big enough. My second , 12 x 25 x 10. It's still not big enough!!! I have a large collection. My smallest are seedlings. My largest is 8ft! A Euphorbia abyssinica. I wish I had a larger one about twice as large!!! But then again, it would just fill quickly!!! Hahaha! Never large enough! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, out to my old home, Los Angeles, have a wonderful day!!! Peace ,Love, Plants!!!✌💖🌵🏵🌴🌺🪴🌹🌲🌷🌳😃👍
Thanks Hunter for this content, The work made by David in that greenhouse was amaizing. This last year I was thinking about building my own backyard greenhouse and I really need information about how to prepare it, how to acondition it also sowing seeds, etc. This video is really helpfull but I don't know if you have more info about greenhouse building. Thanks
LED's put out little heat, but you can ask manufacturer- 3:10 ''SANSI LED Grow Light with COC Technology, 70W Grow Lamp (700 Watt Equivalent), PPF 112 umol/s LED Full Spectrum with Optical Lens for High PPFD, Energy Saving Plant Lights for Seeding and Growing'' ''Patented COC technology: Chip on Ceramic, SANSI's patented technology replaces the traditional Mcpcb aluminum substrate with a non-conductive ceramic heat sink, and directly solder the LED chip on the ceramic heat sink, effectively reducing the system thermal resistance between the LED PN junction and the surface of the heat sink, resulting in faster heat conduction and higher product reliability, makes the SANSI bulb has higher light efficiency. Safe and Reliable: The lamp body is made of special ceramic material, and the flame retardant grade reaches V0; the reinforced insulation structure design, no risk of electric shock, is safer; the whole shell material reaches the WF2 anti-corrosion grade, which is more reliable and durable; low IR, less heat radiation, avoiding close Distance exposure burns plants.'' on amazon $57.98
Thank you for the reply! They seem like an amazing grow light especially for that price. I checked on their site to see if they had any long horizontal bar style LEDs but unfortunately they don’t. I grow my collection indoors on aluminum racks so I needed a light that is longer. I ended up purchasing a chilled tech X1 led. 41 inches long bar style with PowerBox and dial. It came out to $247. I have been extremely impressed to say the least! Also American made!
Ok, I’m building my own greenhouse. Sanctuary time!

I can always ask around. I know a lot of folks use prefab kits from like Home Depot. But I know a couple buddies who’ve built real nice ones
@@CactusQuest Thanks Hunter, I think that this info about how to build up or improve a greenhouse is fantastic and it is not frequent at all.
Beautiful greenhouse and collection! Do those lights he keep put off much heat? Trying to find something similar that doesn’t!
