What's your homebrew's name and synopsis if you don't mind answering? (Some of the best ideas and info comes from our very creative fanbase and I have often thought about a good backstory for NL homebrew but they are harder to imagine for me than other chapters).

    • @guardsman-against-the-chaos
      @guardsman-against-the-chaos 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@fw2101jacobinsleight OK I have a lot of lore so I'll give you a bit of basic info now incase you don't want to have to read it all.
My home brew are a loyalist space marines called the Dark Scar's, Officially in the imperium there know as white scar successes.
There colour scheme the same as the drukhari for the 1st to 5th company with night lords blue on the 6th to 10th (all paldron's are the same kabilt green)
They do take tactics for the codex but don't follow any of its restrictions, and there main styles of warfare is adapting to fit the situation.
Lore:The chapter was founded from a human planet occupied by drukhari, after a force of white scars liberated the system some forces remained to start there own chapter and protect the planet. The first generation of the chapter were in fact white scar Geanseed but the chapter quick became obsessed with the idea of revenge and inflicting pain a terror back onto the drukhari and so the chapter began to hunt down drukhari wherever they could find them, capturing them to torment.
The chapter focus on adaptability as they can not hope to out think the xenos plans. After one terrible war the chapter was almost wiped out. It was then small ragged force of space marines in crimson armour saved them from destruction, when the chapter master was approached by these space marines they promised they were loyal to the impreuim and had been following their chapter have great respect for there methods, a deal was made to take in his men in crimson and unifying there 2 chapters and resupply the geneseed. (night lord geneseed)
The 6th to 10th company are all now fully night lord Geanseed tho only the elders of the chapter know the truth. They are a fully loyal chapter but obsessed with fighting drukhari and will abandoned other wars to do so.
The night lords that approached the Dark Scar's were a loyal remnant of the legion still holding on to knorads ideals of justice and so when the legion had changed they had distanted themselves from the legion then fully broke away during the Heresy, when konrad started to allow drukhari raids on the imperium they entered the war to protect humanity from drukhari raiders.
After the war they isolated themselves the outside keeping a fleet based chapter and claiming to be a unknown founding character.
There armour was painted in a very similar scheme to the Flesh Tearers and they would help the imperium in small quick attacks on a struggling world.
So yeah that's my home brew chapter, not completely night lords and not traitor but there how I've painted them up. Also I gave myself the flexibility to use my old white scar and flesh Tearers models if I want to.
I have done of home brew chapters as well I basically bought a box of ten space marines gave each one its own unique paint scheme and lore, it's what's great about this hobby there's something for everyone :)

    • @guardsman-against-the-chaos
      @guardsman-against-the-chaos 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@fw2101jacobinsleight Also if you want an idea on a traitor home brew chapter you could go for some ideas like they are an elite force contractored out by other traitor forces to keep there allies in line, like abandoned has this group polting against him so he sends in your home brew chapter in to sort as they are the best at that thinh. But not part of the black legion.
Or you could do a force that's still in the ultimar segmentum raiding the 500 worlds in small scale attacks never being a big enough threat to deal with and if they do bring attention to themselves they become next to impossible to track as they have a unmapped system that only their navigates can travel to and they just really hate the blue berrie ultramarines so they find the greatest satisfaction to wind them up.
(also for there chapter symbol I'd have the ultramarines u upside down with 2 dot's above to make a sad face )

@@RedHierophant23 Ah, but even more so in the case of the Night Lords, since they abhor Chaos - it's needless and a weakness. Sure, a few of the 8th have succumbed, but they are largely shunned and ostracized. Or, in rare case, barely tolerated sheerly out of the need for maximized manpower.
I would say that they are a little more than mere garden variety renegades though. I think it would be more apt to classify them as "Conscientious objectors to Empyrean and Imperial servitude". There is still a sort of nobility there. It's twisted and cruel, yes. But merciful in the regard that - when compared to other Legions - they generally intend to keep the mortality rate low, and their overall effectiveness in goal accomplishment very high. But you can't really be branded a "traitor" if the vast majority of your entire legion is just going through the motions of being a loyalist legion whilst never wearing, and even refusing to wear, the Aquila.

    What sweet slaaneshi irony.
All Dante's Circles of Hell start from the Second: the Sins of Lust and Pride!
Fulgrim and Emperor's Children become Serpents, Konrad Curze and Night Lords become Dragons, Alpharius/Omegon and Alpha Legion become Crocodiles.
What is the excessive power of the Emperor's Children, the Night Lords and the Alpha Legion under Slaanesh to have bodies of pure dark stone (the Ice Moon of Slaanesh)?
Genestealers (Tyranids) and Beastmen can find excess only with Slaanesh!
    I think I've solved Slaanesh's Necromancy!
Ghosts and Skeletons of Slaanesh are of Ice, moved by Lust and Pride.
A pearl of Slaanesh please: Ice Magic of Slaanesh.
Does it have a classic look or does it have a more snowy look?
The (humanoid) Dark Kroxigor for Slaanesh?
    How can they be?
    The Ossiarch Bonereapers for Slaanesh?
Exalted Chosen of Slaanesh armed with Halberds?
Circle of Avidity is a hell of gold, Circle of Gluttony is a hell of flesh, Circle of Carnality is a hell of bone, Circle of Supremacy (Paramountcy) is a hell of ash, Circle of Indolency is a hell of sand, Circle of Vanity (Vainglory) is a hell of coral.
But why is it called that and not simply Supremacy?
Furthermore, the gold pearls of the Circle of Avidity must be Gold Serpents or Gold Elementals, i personally say gold pearls (the magic water that can turn everything into perfect gold).
And shouldn't the Circle of Vainglory simply be called the Circle of Vanity (example the Princes of Vanity)?
    "Vanity, definitely my favorite sin."
    (The coral Forest of Vanity)
    💜🟣
I have an interesting theory about the V Circle of Seduction, Vanity (Vainglory).
As Nurgle is nature on Earth, Slaanesh is nature in Water (example the sea gardens of the Laer).
And by logic the fragrant and flowery Forest of Vanity is of perfect coral with spikes and seaweed with spines, dominated by serpentine Demons with spines.
    You like it?
Sun Dragons in the Circle of Avidity, Moon Dragons in the Circle of Carnality, Fire Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Ice Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Metal Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Ash Dragons in the Circle of Indolency, Earth Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Sea Dragons in the Circle of Vanity, Lightning Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Blood Dragons in the Circle of Gluttony.

This is one of my main gripes with the Emperor's character, actually. Earning Angron's loyalty could be surprisingly easy, if he wanted to.

I think the emperor is doing his tzeentch impression and playing 5d chess. Also funny tidbit, before the nails angron was the most empathetic of the primarchs

Nothing stopping him from using biomancy to repair Angron or use medical tech or life support for Angron’s own healing to handle it after removing the nails and then just resuscitate him. People in the modern day are sometimes resuscitated after being dead for hours. And frequently after minutes. Let alone someone close to godhood standing right next to the operating table.
There really just is no excuse. Period.

Can you honestly name a single chapter or legion that doesn't sound silly when applying that type of reductionist thinking?
Ultramarines: try-hard basic bhois that GW advertises the most in no small part because they're generic.
Salamanders: TF2 Pyro in space, and he brought a whole army to match.
Space Wolves and Thousand Sons: furry vikings and Egyptian wizards in space fighting because one legion's dad bullied his brother a bit too hard for being too much of a nerd.
Carcharodons Astra: Loyalist World Eaters in 40k but with Night Lord skins.
Minotaurs: same as above but with Spartan aesthetics.
Alpha Legion: What the Thousand Sons should be in terms of ridiculously overcomplicated plots, subterfuge, and questionable loyalty but without the magic.
Blood Angels: What would happen if Alucard from Castlevania fell in love, had some kids, then got killed so now his sons are still sad/mad about it a couple thousand years later.
Lamenters: Same as above, but like if someone made a homebrew chapter with Spiderman luck.
Iron Warriors and Imperial Fist: For all their talk of Iron or unbreakable will, one literally helped doom the galaxy to endless war because his thank you card got lost in the mail while the others have largely been stuck on Terra for ten thousand years (and somehow still managed to get wiped out fighting orks, and had to be replaced before anyone noticed).
Marines Malevolent: If I have to say it with a name like that, I'm not sure I could explain it.
