And! The Brigadier also met with the Sixth Doctor. Technically it was an audio drama by Big Finish, but dammit, it should be considered canon regardless. Doubly so because it also has Evelyn as a companion.

I say the Invasion would have done better had it been made, and broadcast in its originally intended 6 parts and also the Cybermen should have been better portrayed than they were in the broadcast version where they hardly spoke much.

Yeah, while I like The Mind Robber purely because when a TV show starts feeling like it took a bad trip, my interest sparks purely for where its going...I LOVE The War Games. Its actually got the darkest ending to any story in Doctor Who history - whether you see the Regenerations as Death or not, being forced to change at the hands of all powerful Cyber Gods is a concept that would have anyone terrified. I also love how out of the blue it is. When you start watching it, you don't expect it to be his last story. Thats not the only reason I love it though. I love the whole feel of everything against the main heroes, how often they have to convince people "what we're saying is true" and how much you start questioning it when we reveal the other time zones outside of the World War 1 one. Yeah, overall, its my favourite story in Doctor Who...Troughton does that a lot with me. So yeah, if you haven't seen it, SEE IT!

3:58 I guess Steven Moffat thought it was wrong that Nicholas Courtney never showed up again in New Who so he made one of the Cyberman In series 8 The Brigadeer. Also it should be noted in the comics the 9th Doctor ended up reuniting with The Brigadeer, Benton and Harry

Time Lord 1 has been confirmed as Goth in some expanded media. That piece of expanded media also confirms this character to also be Gulliver from The Mind Robber, for some reason.

I think it's fair to argue that Terrance Dicks was more important than Holmes in the grand scheme of things. I prefer Holmes' writing but in terms of overall impact on the show I feel Dicks has made more of an impact

08:10 - To be fair, I think the intent behind the Warlords’ motivations was that they were actually studying the captured human armies. As they are, as you said, already powerful, they wouldn’t benefit from the powerful, but non creative species like Rastons, Ogrons and other races like that. No, what the Warlords needed were a species that had committed a great majority of their history to the art of war/warfare and unleashing it upon themselves time after time, i.e., humans. So, with the help of the Warchief who, as established in the episode provided tardises to travel to various points in humanity’s history, the Warlords manage to go back in time and yoink up armies from both fronts of their respective wars from those points in history and place them in a mysterious time displaced realm of which not only do they control, but is split up into multiple areas made to look like the various war zones each pairing of armies originally came from. From there, under strict yet subtle mind control from Warlord’s disguised as key leaders of each army, each specific pair of armies are made to fight one another in the various 11 areas of this realm (also known as zones) as if they were still fighting in whatever wars they came from, completely unaware that they’re being secretly observed by the Warlords who are analysing them to extract the creative battle tactics all the various armies are using to fight each other so that the Warlords can copy and implement them into their own armies of themselves that they will use to conquer the galaxy and establish a vast galactic empire of which they will rule over for eternity!
Or, at least that’s what I believe the Warlords’ plan actually was devised from my own personal viewing of the story. Make of it what you will and be free to comment!

Just asking about the Time Lords basically never having that level of power seen in the War Games anywhere else in Who. Is there a possibility that the lords there were using the powers of Rassilon, then when Omega attacked in The Three Doctors they lost the ability to take his power and use it?
I'm just saying that I want some explanation for why The Time Lords have that kind of power once then never again.

The Invasion was intended to be originally made and shown in 6 part and in that story the Cybermen were not as well portrayed as they should have been as main villains they rarely talked which was awful and never thankfully repeated in later Cyberstories in classic Dr Who stories.

I know this video is old for a hot take, but I'm dropping one anyway:
The War Games' Time Lords are nonsensically weird, and not at all interesting imo. Yeah, they're techno-gods, but by that logic, shouldn't the Doctor _also_ be a techno-god? Imagine how many problems would have been solved if he just used a fraction of his power to think the Daleks, or the Cybermen, or the Great Intelligence out of existence? Or get everyone back to the TARDIS? Or just do whatever Deus Ex Machina the episode requires him to? That's sort of the problem when you make a character part of an alien race, and give said race weird overpowered powers. Once you give them powers, you have to make an excuse as for why the main character never used them before. And before people say that the Doctor failed the academy, this fact wasn't established back in the War Games, I believe that was established in the Fourth Doctor's era. Plus, their supposed omnipotence makes the existence of the TARDIS, or TARDISes in general, kind of useless. Why use this archaic method of travel if you can just pop up somewhere at will?
"Oh, but the Time Lords can now be defeated by a Dalek/the Doctor can just trick them and gain power!"
Yeah, and the Doctor can ALSO be defeated by a Dalek/get tricked by someone and have them steal his TARDIS. He and the Time Lords are on somewhat equal ground now. Make the Time Lords military geniuses? That's alright then. Make the Time Lords bureaucrats? Well that's alright then. Make them the inventors of Time and Space travel? Oh well that's more than alright then. Make them techno-gods? That's the moment where you have to explain the dandy in the room that is the Doctor, and why he doesn't use said powers, and how he can be defeated so the episode has stakes.

...got to be honest, I think Series Six is the teeniest bit overrated, yes it has the Mind Robber, the Invasion, the Seeds of Doom and the War Games. But, it also has Dominators, Krotons and the Space Pirates. It's a mixed bag of stories for me, but Two, Jaime and Zoe are one of the best TARDIS teams, I'm not denying Series Six is good. Just maybe it's not one of the best seasons ever.
