I got the Green Death DVD while back and apparently the whole subtext about the Doctor loving Jo wasn't absolutely true. Turns out Barry Letts meant that while strong feelings are there, it's because it's more of a father-daughter relationship. Which honestly makes way more sense to me. The way they treat each other throughout the show, the way Jo grows to the point where she doesn't need the Doctor anymore, how the Doctor and Jo act in the Death of the Doctor, and the ending of The Green Death could easily parallel the Doctor leaving Susan. If it wasn't obvious, Jo's one of my favourite companions :P Rewatching this amazing guide has shown me that difference between our Doctor Who opinions ;)
Three even says in the Green Death "the fledgling has flown the coop" which is something a father would say about his daughter leaving home. It's only Katy Manning who has said that Jo was 'in love' with the Doctor, and even then it's not necessarily anything more than platonic.
I do say Frontier in Space, having a female president, ruling future Earth was a precursor to the way female arch-enemy and recurring arch-villain Servalan in Blakes Seven which came out on tv 5 years later and had Blakes Seven been made and broadcast in 1973 this is what Blakes Seven would have been like.
I agree about the overuse of romance in New Who, i liked Rose at first but then it got annoying, Martha was less annoying but still, i loved Donna as a companion, she had great chemistry with Tennent without any romance nonsense and i'm glad they dropped it with Amy Pond. I felt it worked with River Song though.
Yeah Donna is my favourite of 10's companions for exactly that reason, they were friends and that was it, no romance involved and she would call him on his shit if she felt the need (which brings back pleasant memories of Evelyn Smythe). Amy I really enjoy but critically her arc gets better once the Doctor firmly stamps down any ideas of romance (which is more treated as one sided lust on her part anyway) and brings Rory into the dynamic. From there we get the 11, Amy & Rory team, which of the New Who era, is my favourite team dynamic.
First time I saw three doctors, I loved it. Still do. I love how this pretty mu ch set the precedent down for future multi doctor stories, more or less. The idea of the doctors kinda bickering and not quite getting along, but still combining their talents together to do something awesome.
I think Day of the Doctor was trying to do something similar to The Three Doctors, which expands on the mythos and changes the overall setup, and while I would've preferred they'd gone The Five Doctors route, but I like Day of the Doctor still
I know many are not a fan of his Doctor, but Christopher Eccleston could have shaken Day of the Doctor up. 9th would have had a short fuse with 10 and 11. Same that Moffet couldn't work something out with him.
At 5:55 it’s called the Delaware theme and was supposed to be the main theme starting with carnival of monsters but was quickly scrapped and the Australians ended up getting extended versions of those episodes with the theme

I know, it's one of the most annoying things about Hagan. She acts like every version of the Doctor is supposed to be the same man, and uses that as her reasoning behind her utter loathing for the new show: it's not like it used to be
People like you are part of the problem, refusing to acknowledge even the possibility that the new show is even remotely good while claiming shit like 'The Underwater Menace' was a flawless masterpiece
