Yeah you could spend weeks there and see so much! We spent a week here for our honeymoon, then a few days this past summer and 4 this time and we still saw new things! Love the history and the small town with great shopping and restaurants. Hope you guys had a great New year!🎊🥳
I'm not a camper like you all .I do enjoy truck camping. I just came across your videos here a few weeks ago. At first I thought it was corny. But I find myself watching hour after hours of your videos. I think you all do a great job. Mike always makes those shy innocent faces like he's surprised. My favorite one was where you went camping one winter and no one was there but you.I think it was in Delaware. That was perfect. Anyway great videos I enjoy . watching.

Great video Happy New Year lots of history there and loved the instrumental music in the video we were actually in Fredericksburg Texas on New Year's Eve we enjoyed it as much as we could but of course everything shut down a little early but we still had a great time👍👍
Up until about 40 years ago, mispellings, and other corrections to unit rosters resulted in the scratching out and addition of names to monuments. The National Park Service decided, sometime in the 70's or 80's to stop doing this because the monuments had themselves become historic buildings. The NPS keeps an updated roster of names in their archives.
Bet you won't find Daraskavich in any cemetery! Red Vines are far superior to Twizzlers sort like Hersey's vs nestle chocolate. Great video guys. Thanks again! Oh yeah skip that show them dogs!!!

Hey guys loved the video, we have been to GB years ago and would like to go again in the spring. Where did you stay and how did you like the campground? Nicky is a carbon copy of my best friend, Sahsa that we lost in last August after having her by my side every day for 16 years except for 5 days I was in the hospital. Seeing Nicky was very touching I'm sure you can relate camping without her has been tough. I guess you guys ca relate. Luv you guys you are us 40 years ago
We stayed at artillery ridge (put it in text over the video) this time. It's open year round so it was a win for us haha We have stayed at Gettysburg campground a few times in the past and liked it there too! Nikki is a sweet girl and we were so happy Piper got along with her! Guy gets along with pretty much every dog lol

It's nice that you guys are making a bit of a tradition of camping PA! Modern tip to read weathered headstones - use the cool filters on your cell phones! Gone are the days of charcoal and rubbing paper!
They thought 50 was cold enough😂 Very cool tip about reading the old headstones! I kept thinking I need a pencil or crayon and paper to read some of them haha

In North Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth area), it was 81°F/27.2°C on Christmas Day. Next time y’all are out there, I would encourage y’all to go the Gettysburg Museum of History at 219 Baltimore Street. They have an extensive World War II collection including items once belonging to Dick Winters (Band of Brothers fame) and other members of the 101st Airborne Easy Company. You can see a few of the items on JD’s channel, “The History Underground.” I hope to someday make the trek there myself. For now, I am just filming local.
When we travel to Gettysburg, we travel across the dick Winters memorial bridge as he was from PA. So cool! We enjoy band of Brothers and own the box set👍🏻 Mike loves the history underground channel and the Gettysburg videos👏🏻

Jenny Wade Died of Covid, don't let them BS You, but Jennie Wade (Jenny's Ancestor) probably died from lead ball & gun powder poisoning! ; ) With all that Hair, Nikki was probably enjoying the chilling effects!
They were doing upgrades when we were there. Small sites but fhu pull thru and super close to downtown/everything made it worth it! The owners were great as well.. We'd stay here again. Wasn't like a private site state park but we weren't going for that anyway
Humans shake hands and identify each other by name. Dogs identify each other by scent i.e. smelling each others butt. After they establish the smell of a dog, they can identify the individual scent of urine deposited by other dogs in the local fire hydrant. They know who's been coming and going. Dogs thought process (what's your scent identity? are you male or female? if female are you in heat? if in heat, lets make some babies! if not in heat, maybe next time). Killer Angels by "Michael Shaara" is a great read on the battle of Gettysburg.
For sure! Guy has always been welcoming and inviting to meet new dogs. Piper acts like she wants to kill them first usually lol With Mike at the helm, she wants to act better (because she loves him more lol) and she wanted to be with everyone so she played nice and realised that Nikki was a nice doggy haha

49 degrees nearly perfect for wandering the battlefields, recommend a trip to Hershey and visit to Chocolate World to your Florida neighbors.
It was pretty enjoyable, especially for December! We did recommend Hershey to them and we might visit there next👍🏻

If your down that way, Stone Mountain near Atlanta has a really good CivilWar museum and a good general museum including several vintage cars
