Totally spot on, the 49ers were not in a big lead when his tantrum happened. In fact in previous Superbowls the chiefs have been down by more points and you never saw this kind of reaction from Kelce. The fact was that by this point of the game , they throwed it to Kelce just once and it was behind the line of scrimmage, thus his real frustration was not that team was down but that he hadn't contribute with anything offensively when this was suppose to be a stellar performance from him being that he had been in the spotlight the whole week

If Kelce had lost his cool and was deemed not fit to play in the biggest moment of Andy's career, yes, he would've benched his player. That's part of coaching, it was business as usual except Andy didn't see it coming so it caught by surprise. That's called a false equivalency fallacy....the situation does not justify the means.
I sincerely doubt local statutes in your community carry a "big game clause" when it comes to unwanted physical contact with a teammate or coach.
I sincerely doubt if you had a parent, sibling or child....or grown child on the receiving end of such a thing that you'd be tolerant and imply that it's in the situation of a big game.
You'd have a problem with it. The reason why your argument falls apart logically and legally for that matter is because you're giving a pass through the lens of a fan of a highly paid player who works in a profession that allows more room for questionable behavior that would not be tolerated at a Pop Warner, High School or college level.
Let me sum it up to you like this....
If it's something that you would not teach your child to do in a similar scenario, because players will disagree with their coach from time to time...then that something IS wrong without exception.

Control yourself and don't excuse behavior that's indicative of an out of control, angry maniac. The message is clear, shove coaches, throw things, and displapy temper tantrums are okay. There is a right way to do everything. TK clearly chose the wrong way. Parents, teachers, coaches, and fathers can do those types of things without accountability...? Wrong is wrong no matter how you twist it and layer it up to be right. Admit you were wrong and out of line. Make the required changes. Move on...

Johnson seems to think this was no big deal and Kelce wasn't out of line. Johnson then says he did that sort of thing and later apologized. If you have to apologize..... you were out of line. He is dense.

I don't care how much pressure or stress you're under, that kind of disrespect to an *elder* and a coach, not to mention the *#1 reason you're in yet another SuperBowl,* is worse than a bad look, it's pathetic and shameful. I love KC and have been a fan of Kelce's from the beginning, he's human like us all, but it's hard to look past that kind of behavior..

  • @jordanmitchell1939
    @jordanmitchell1939 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I don’t care what kind of relationship they have, putting your hands on your coach is always a no-no. I lost a lot of respect for Andy Reid when he just “let it slide”- it’s a respect thing. It’s insane to me how they have let Kelce rage on the sideline for years without any meaningful consequences.

We dont know these guys relationship. The bumping was a bit much but yelling is a part of football. Me and the other managers at my company yell at each other all the time and are best buddies again 10 min later. Its called passion and desire to succeed. Reid just did this to him a few weeks ago and Im sure Kelce apologies right after.

There's no excuse for what Travis did. He had every right to be frustrated, but you don't bump into your head coach because you're upset. If he did that to someone off the field it would be considered assault.

Yes, Andy is a rock and always reigns him in but Travis is increasingly becoming the hothead he used to be in his early career and if they had lost, it would have become a huge thing. Andy himself said it didn't bother him, though, because he likes the passion and competetiveness. Maybe it's the winning that's speaking out of him.

"There are clips of me screaming at my coach" (paraphrasing)
My dude - there's a big difference between screaming at your coach and running into, and nearly knocking down, your coach WHILE screaming in his face. My God, man.
For me, I wouldn't have cared if he had just been yelling at Andy. THAT'S when I would have said that's between them. But that's not what happened.

I don’t like when people treat other’s reprehensibly and then say they had a good reason due to their own emotional state. We are all responsible for our emotions and how we respond to circumstances and how we regulate our emotional responses. Travis Kelce wasn’t the only player on that field that wanted to win that game with every fiber of their being but he was the only player from both sides of the field to scream in his coaches face inches away, bump into him, almost knock him down and then not apologize very sincerely, very seriously and very publicly. You do not get to disrespect a man of Andy Reid’s status and then laugh it off as hey dude heat of the moment I’m an emotional guy. Never ever ok.

Disrespect is not okay, no matter the relationships....and the language and violence is not acceptable as a pro player, you must be better role models for the young fans.....It is unacceptable to be on any show speaking with profanity about this issue.....just act as an adult with decency and respect.
