This is very nice head unit! I’d love to upgrade mine to something like this especially if Gaia and all the other apps work on there. So cool! Thanks for the shout out at the end man!
I love updates like this. I added CarPlay to my 2013 GTI in about 15 minutes with a head unit that copied the design of the modern VW offerings. It was literally plug and play and it had a better amplifier to boot.
Now that you're 3 months in, what are your thoughts? Would you consider doing an update video or even a 60 second short with your overall impressions? It looks like a nice add-on but my autism just can't deal with the shiny black bezel. It makes me wonder why all of these manufacturers make them shiny instead of mat. I'd have to figure out a solution to that for sure
How reliable is it? Is it stable? Any crashes? I wonder if these units come with a new amp and video processor. I really want my 2019 to have better camera quality also.
Dude u didnt mention its biggest feature is using ur phone as a hotspot so the stereo can have internet/youtube while u drive. Thats the whole point of it.
It couldn’t possibly be slower the the 20+ OEM Toyota systems. I think Toyota take refurbished tablets from elementary school to use for their head units. Great video and hope to see a follow up after a few trail rides. Also surprised you didn’t want to set up and Xbox for your Passengers to play while you drive.
Hahaha man so true. I love Toyota but the SUCK at software. It's pure trash. The engines are overbuilt and the stereos are recycled trash. This was a big upgrade. I'll post back here and let everyone know how it's doing after a few months. If it doesn't perform well I'll trash it. Hopefully it's solid though.
I just bought one but my back up camera doesn’t work. And when i went into the settings i couldnt see prohibit reverse set “enable”, did yours have the same issue?
@@trizzy1232 The connection occasionally drops. The speaker is so bad I can't do hands free calling or other people can't understand me. Also, the if I'm getting directions somewhere while on a call the map messes up pretty regularly.

It’s pretty slick. 🤘🏼

Love it man. Plug and play mods are the best.

I hear you. Yeah I’ll consider an update review.

I don’t love it. Wish it was higher quality. Will eventually replace it.
Man I’d love to upgrade mine
I’m a fan for sure.

Oh wow I’ve never tried that.
I was thinking of ordering this, do it rattle or creak at all? Would you recommend it after having it for some time?
I’d go another route. This one has lots of issues.
@@BakerOverland damn I’m sorry to hear that! What kinda issues have you ran into?
There’s a new g13 model? Do you think it’s worth it?
Idk but I’ll ask them to send it to me to test.

My backup cam worked without changing any settings but other things have not worked well. I’m not convinced the QC is very high on these.
Have you got the steering wheel controls working yet?
Not yet but Dasaita did reach out and we’re working on it.
Did you ever figure out the steering wheel controls?
No and honestly I have a bunch of complaints about the unit now.
@@BakerOverland good to know, so what wrong with it now?

Where can I get that phone mount?
Hondo Garage
Will this control an external XM receiver? If so can I run XM and have Waze going at the same time?
Good question. I’m not sure about that. I don’t use XM.
You skipped the reason I watched. Hooking it up. My stereo is out and I have no idea what to plug in..
Ah sorry man!
Can you play youtube while driving?
Not through CarPlay but I do think it’s possible using a different os.
Does the factory back cam work
It does yes.
