We had A LOT of questions after I released the first mobile LIVESCOPE videos. Here is detailed information on how I built my mobile LIVESCOPE system and where I use it.
    In this video we discuss:
    LIVESCOPE Transducers
How to Build a mobile LIVESCOPE system.
How to use a mobile livescope system on docks and boats.
How to use a magnet to mount your LIVESCOPE transducer.
What models of Garmin units work with LIVESCOPE.
What kind of battery we use to power our LIVESCOPE SYSTEM.
Mounting and positioning a LIVESCOPE system on your boat with angle iron.
Fle Fly fishing lures make fishing more fun. Just tune in and let the folks at Fle Fly share their fishing tips, fishing techniques and fishing secrets with you on these videos. Their fishing video tips will help you catch more fish! #howtocatchcrappie #crappiefishingtips #crappiefishingsecrets

Jeff, I REALLY Enjoyed your LIVESCOPE System project ! @ 69 yrs. old now, bought a 16 ft. brand new Lund Fury XL in 2016, paid $1,000.00 for a Garmin Echomap Plus 93 SV fishfinder, $1500.00 for a Garmin Panoptix PS 30/31 transducer for the $600.00 Minn Kota V2 Trolling motor... $500.00 for an
I-Pilot ...NOW Garmin comes out with this $1500.00 LIVESCOPE unit that I can't afford... I went through the roof ...UNTIL... I saw your BEST EVER FANTASTIC PVC LIVESCOPE System that is just doggoned Spot On !!! Reckon I'm gonna have to pick up more beer/soda cans , then next year start working on something like what you did !
Jeff.... YOU did an EXEMPLARY and OUTSTANDING project that you should put a patent on !
FANTASTIC Jeff !!!! KUDOS Big Time from this Ol' Nam Vet in SW Washington state !
Would work great on the Salmon/SteelHead up here !!! Thumbs Up !!!!! Ya outta be PROUD !

cruisin682002 why do u think he needs to patent it? Does that mean no body could put their on a peice of pipe with out sending Jeff some money? A cop driving around checking every body's boat to check if u paid your dues.

Thanks for sharing. This is a lot of money to spend but worth it if we know what to buy and how to use it. Your set up is similar to my set up for the Lowrance. I don’t mount to trolling motor either. Also makes it harder for the dishonest people to help them selves too. Tight lines Jeff

Couldn't you modify your live scope onto the magnet bracket so it rotates keeping you from having to move the magnet? Essentially, making it like an under water periscope? Seems like it would be more convenient and precise enabling you to move it 360 degrees in any direction. Your thoughts Jeff?

    • @FLEFLYChannel

I did the math on this . The GLS typical usage is 21 watts . And the EchoMap is 15 watts . Say we want to run this system for 6 hours . Math time. GLS = 21 watts x 6 hours = 126 now with a 85% battery efficiency 126/.85 =148 watt hours now change it into amps 148/ 12 volts = 12.3 Amp . Now the EchoMap 15 watts * 6 hours = 90/.85 = 105 /12 volts = 8.75 amp hours. Add those together 12.3+8.75= 21.05 Amp hours . We need a 21 Amp hour batter to run this system without blowing fuses. We can run two of these batteries in parallel all day long without blowing fuses. Or just use 1 battery for the GLS and 1 for the EchoMap.

Is the lithium battery worth the money? I know it weighs less than a SLA but it's not an arm breaking difference. As the charge on the battery decreases does it affect the Garmin?

  • @MrTNBassmaster
    @MrTNBassmaster 5 ปีที่แล้ว

I almost bet you're blowing fuses later in the day? As a battery goes below 3/4 of a charge the amp starts to climb. Not a big problem but if you would hook everything up to a main switch and turn it off after your using it or moving to a different spot it would help.
