    This is the approach I am wanting to take. Thanks for sharing your setup!

      You are welcome! I did change a bit on this setup a few months ago. Instead of mounting the screen directly to the box like this I added a big Ram ball on top of the box then a ram arm to connect the screen to the box.
      It just gave me an extra bit of height and a little more maneuverability on the screen. Mounting directly to the box definitely still viable though.

    Great low - tech solutions for a very high - tech device!

      Thank you Glenn!
      I hope others find parts of my setup useful and that it helps reduce their total cost of getting LiveScope on the boat.

      I went with this setup for the same reason as you. I'm hoping to get another family-friendly boat next year and wanted to be able to move this between the boats.

    This is the best portable set up I have seen for my needs. Can you like the parts you used and from what company. Thank you

      Thanks so much Jane! I love this setup and being able to take it between boats or even out on docks is so great!
      The case is made by a company called MTM and it's listed as "ACR12 Ammo Crate" if you're looking for it online.
      Now one change I would make to this setup for the mount is something I changed when I bought my pontoon boat. Instead of using the custom double-clamp shown in this video, I use a "Ram Tough-Claw Mount" (the medium 1.5 inch model that fits rails 1 to 1.875 inches). It can clamp onto the side of my old boat or the pontoon boat rails and holds very very strong. If I'd known about it when I made this setup originally that would have been an easier solution.
      For the battery, it's a 30ah lithium but I can't remember where I got it or what the brand is. Looking on the side of it I don't see any markings but there are lots of good ones out there.
      If I can help with any other info please let me know!

    I really like your set up. I am putting my livescope on my duck boat and am going to mount mine similar to yours so that I can strip everything off for duck season in the fall and it will be easy to lock up in the truck if you happen to stop at a restaurant or store. May I ask, what ammo box is that? Thanks, Mike

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much, that is exactly what I was thinking with mine. I didn't want anything left on the boat so I just pick it up and take it where needed. It's also great to be able to pick it up and take it to a dock or another boat whenever needed.
      The crate I'm using is the "MTM ACR12-72". I got that one because it's a bit taller and made it easier to see the screen without bending over.
      My setup has changed slightly over the last year and will be putting out a new video showing the extra stuff I've done since then. *drilled small air holes in the side of the box - and added a ram mount to the top to heighten and adjust the angle of the screen as needed.

    Just came across your channel. Very nice presentation on this video and your livescope fishing videos. Really like the handle mount you came up with and the box for the battery and electronics. I am at the point of considering livescope for my Lund 1600 Fury and would appreciate any insight you can provide, i.e. the set up I should consider - what all I will need for a Garmin set up like yours. Just subscribed! Thanks in advance.

      Thanks Cali, so glad you liked the videos!
      Do you have a picture of the layout of your boat from the top-down?
      For the portable mount, the depth of the C-Clamps is the tough part and what I struggled with. The brand of clamps I used is "Tite-Lok" and they've worked very well for mine. My backup plan was to order some clamp-on rod holders and take them apart and bolt them into the pressure-treated wood for this purpose if the Tite-Loks had not fit my boat. That might work for you also if the tops of your gunnels are too deep.
      I looked it up and it looks like you'll be working with similar space/seating restrictions to what I have with my very very old bass tracker but we make it work with one extra folding chair in the boat and can get two adults fishing behind the transducer and screen so I'm sure you can also.
      If you want to sit further apart but both see the screen I HIGHLY recommend getting a GPSMap as your screen unit. With that you can network it to a tablet and it will mirror what's on the screen so you can both have your very own screen in front of you. The non-touchscreen is also nice so you don't accidentally press buttons, which I understand is an issue with some of the touchscreen units.

      @@KidBako Hi Cali! Just a follow up that I modified my setup and found a much easier clamp-on mount for the transducer pole. Ram makes something called the "Tough-Claw Mount" (the medium 1.5 inch model that fits 1 to 1.875 inches). It clamps onto the side of my old boat or the rails on my pontoon boat equally well and holds very strong. Much easier to move around also if you want to move the pole around the boat or between boats.
      Anyway, if you haven't already built anything I just wanted to give a heads up! Good luck and tight lines!

    What's the clamp that goes to the pole itself ?

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The pole I have is made by a company called "Summit Fishing Equipment". They have a Boat Mount Kit that includes the 1.5 inch ball on a connector that slips over the transducer pole.

      @HighQualityFishingVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dirk, sure thing!
      You can use those Tite Lok clamps like I have there (I think I got them off amazon) and make a stable platform for the ram mount on top - or you can just buy one of the ram "tough claw" mounts and it will clamp on pretty good to the side of a boat also ( I use the claw for my pontoon boat).
      For the actual transducer pole you can order one from Summit: summitfishingequipment.com/
      The guy that runs it is quick to answer questions and takes care of his customers. Awesome to see a business run that way.
      I'm not at all affiliated with these companies or anything, I am just a happy customer passing along what's working for me. Couldn't be happier with my setup though! Let me know if you run into any snags or if I can help more. Good luck out there!

    How is the battery holding up? How much run time you get with it?

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, thanks for watching! This battery is a 30ah lithium and I have never run it down all the way.
      Used it 16 hours over two days without a charge and it still read 25% remaining on the charger when I got home.
      *One thing that I do differently now than I did when I made this video: That custom mount I made - I don't use it any more. I now use the Ram "Tough-Claw" mount to clamp onto the side of the boat or onto my pontoon boat rails.

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Adam, the setup I have cost around $3200 when I purchased it including the transducer pole, cables, and mounting hardware.
      I bought the GPSMap 1022 and the LVS34 (Livescope Plus) and I'm super happy with them both!
