I really enjoyed the video, Darryl. Your rant can serve as a cautionary tale for anyone doing any kind of business on line. It's unfortunate that there are unethical and unscrupulous people out there. As for the carving - wow - way out of my price range, but what a great work. My only problem with such a piece is that, for me, although I get a great deal of enjoyment from looking at it, I most often get more enjoyment from knowing it's full story. Like who made it? When? What was it's purpose? How was it used? Of course, a lot of these questions can't be answered and that gives me mixed emotions. Glad that I can se such a wonderful piece, but sad that I can't know every little detail about it. Thanks for sharing!👍
Thank you so much! Always appreciate your comments! I was sooo upset I didn’t really talk about my new piece! I did put a little info in my description section for this video. It’s from the Bambara people of Mali and used in “relationships.” It gets real deep. Double face. Very interesting meaning.
@@DarrylMcCullough Thanks Darryl, I normally read the description for further details, but hadn't this time. For me, admittedly not very knowledgeable about African works like this, it is a stunning piece in so many ways. I think I could spent hours looking at it and trying to get in the mind of it's creator.
Excellent video!!! I've seen these puppets online but they were not as nice as the one you have. Also, that was a scammer who contacted you via Facebook messenger and showed you a video of someone else's African art collection pretending it was his in order to con you out of your money. It's a good thing that you didn't fall for the con.
Great Piece.
Thank you! I thought it was befitting of my last African art piece hurrah!
For all of the grief, this piece is extremely rewarding! I love it. I've been finding great pieces at estate sales as well. Good resource.
Thank you very much! 😊
Wonderful lesson to share! So glad you share your experiences with everyone 😊
Thank you! Always appreciate your comments Alisa and the great work that you do at your museum! 😊

@@takkmoran9770 I agree! Thanks again. Also, concerning the price. Thankfully the seller at the gallery gave me a deal. 😊
His loss, your gain! Beautiful piece!
Thank you so much! 😃
Awesome piece!
Thanks so much! I was able to bargain a little for it. 😊
Also, digging the camera work. 👍🏾
Thank you! It’s the director in me with my children’s creativity. 😊
Yes. I shall watch your video when I get off work!"

Thank you so very much! The seller seemed legit. Just greedy and not a professional business person.
@DarrylMcCullough Smh... sorry you had to deal with someone like that, Darryl.
Re: space... Brutha it's time for you to open your gallery! 🤗
Lol! That would be great! 😊
I have a "head" statue like the short, black piece you have there on your right.
