I used to sculpt in my 20s. But never could do anything with the end result so I threw them away. Most studios taught pottery so I never developed this talent. I eventually gave up. That was almost 30 yrs ago. Watching your videos, I see resolutions for all my previous barriers. I’m excited to start up again. I will definitely check out your website and courses.

you definitely should! sculpting is difficult and takes time to learn but I think most people would be surprised how fast they can improve with good instruction and focusing on the right things when developing the sculpture. My grandma always gave the excuse that she couldn't do art because one of her kids swallowed a paint tube when he was little. Her youngest moved out over 50 years ago. She's 95 and still hasn't gotten back into it and deeply regrets it. Creative people have to make time for creativity or else the time just passes and we wish we would have done more.

hi and thank you for the amazing content. based on your experience can you please tell me what is the most light weight sculpture medium? joint compound is very heavy so i am looking for the most light weight alternative while i want to keep that outer matt effect that joint compound or putty give. can you please guide me? much appreciate it. thx@@AndrewJosephKeith

Hebel is an alternative. It's aerated cement blocks. It's ver soft you can saw it, rasp it, even scrape off layers with a spoon.
Another thing to mention is that you can sculpt in say oil based clay then cast it in something else, and you can cast it hollow to make it have a far lighter weight. You can even do it in fibreglass.

@@smartfreelancer-dp2qdI tried working with paper pulp like substance, homemade, but haven't succeed in making it as good to work with as clay.

A lovely piece. Lovely figure, and the birds are great too. Chickens are surprisingly unique looking creatures which we sometimes lose appreciation for because of their “ordinariness”.
