Anytime I see a movie and I see "Thomas F. Wilson" in the opening credits my first thought is "Well there's at least one solid performance! Don't think I ever seen a role in a movie from him I didn't like.
I love that he is NOTHING like Biff Tannen, thats the mark of a great actor. Watching him, I dont see even a hint of Biff. He's funny, can play Tuba, guitar, and God knows what else🤣 Insanely talented, he should have had his own show.
+Ethan Price In fact, he has stated in a recent interview that he was able to play the role of a bully so convincingly because, up until his growth spurt, he was bullied severely at school and had stared them in the face so often.
Even after the growth spurt, I'm sure there were some douchebags who still messed with him because of their little man insecurities. Tom himself does not seem like the type who wants to fight (though he did apparently have the urge to smack Eric Stoltz around a bit), regardless of being a big guy. He'd rather tell a joke, play a song or paint a picture. We need more people like him everywhere in the world. :)
Tom in the real world is an amazing fella! He seems down to earth and not like "Hey, I'm a big shot actor and you're poop in the pool." His humor is as funny as the best of them, he's an artist and musician, sings, and I guess he dances. Talented all the way around.
Good job, Carson invited him over. Surprised Tom is not in more comedy movies, he is great. I remember I enjoyed his role in the old Wing Commander games with Mark Hamill.
The comments are totally on point. How this man never became a megastar... we will never know. I think that it's because, as he himself has said, so many people believe that he IS Biff even though his real personality couldn't be more detached from that character.
I scored 12 touchdowns in High School. The last one, just before halftime, I stuffed the ball into the tuba of the visiting band... and 45 years later that's who I am "remember, the guy that stuffed the football into the tuba?"
Tom is such a talented guy. Sucks that he was typecast as "Biff". I saw him do standup a few time. Great energy... dude could control a crowd and his confidence onstage was amazing. Look at this, dude just took over the show... on Carson. Lucky I just started watching Legends of Tomorrow (just for Constantine), and WHAMMY... Tom pops up. And if you ever read this Tom... what's Michael J Fox like? *couldn't resist*
Ever consider that the reason he said tuba is because he considered the audience he was speaking to and that the majority of them did not know what a sousaphone was. He is an comedic entertainer in this setting. Dont get why these people are bashing this guy
@@travisinthetrunk It doesn't make for much of a comedy routine night after night plus special events. If it's enough for you, you're very easily entertained.
He was such a great Biff...He's such a good actor that he could fake being a bully beautifully, you really wanted to hate him. Then you get to know him in real life and he couldn't be more different! Affable, self-deprecating, intellectual and hilarious! When auditioning for Biff, he must've thought to himself, "Wait...they want me to play a BULLY...? I'm not a bully, but I guess that I could fake it...!" It's a trite but true statement, "Don't judge a book by its cover...!"
Now I just finished watching this. It's just a tragedy how "actors" of today have no talent. They just need to look good shirtless and have a marketable face. Tom Wilson is more talented than anybody under 30 I've seen in a movie in the past 5 years or so, yet someone like him absolutely would not make it in today's Hollywood. Damn you, pop culture of today. Damn you.
lol, i love the end. i didnt realize everyone else questioned a tuba player's decision to play the tuba. because i dont even realize how it happened myself x.x
One of the few comedians that made me pause the video due to laughter. Too many these days think they have to be some kind of philosopher and make a good point. I prefer guys like Tom because he’s FUNNY
This was amazing. I've been playing the tuba since the summer of 7th grade (when I was 12) and this just made my day. Next time I go to the beach, my tuba is coming with me.
One of his first acting roles is in a little movie called La Street Fighter I think it was made in 84 or something and he plays a member of a gang the axe gang and they fight some other guys the Asian gang or something if he's in there swinging his axe around and they beat him up
I believe that Roger Bobo was on Carson. Roger was the tubaist for the LA Phil and one of the greatest tubaist of all time. Last May I went to a Master Class that presided over.
Very Funny! But so much of what he plays for laughs is based in truth. I'm a former tuba player in a college marching band and have experienced much of this, including the inability of most audiences to keep a beat.
I was always a fan of his character on back to the future but after watching this and other stand up routine videos I’m forever a fan!! Multi talented.
I love this clip. I often find Tom really funny, but he is just hilarious here. I agree with a lot of people that it was a shame he got typecast as he could’ve been bigger if not.
A criminally underrated performer. He should have really been HUGE.
exactly

Agreed
First I was like, really!? Then I started laughing, then he reminded me of Jim Carrey, and then I agreed with your comment. ^^
I dont think he got enough credit in BTTF, look at all the different characters he played in the 3 movies, he did an amazing job!
I love that he is NOTHING like Biff Tannen, thats the mark of a great actor. Watching him, I dont see even a hint of Biff. He's funny, can play Tuba, guitar, and God knows what else🤣 Insanely talented, he should have had his own show.
It's a shame some of the folks from the audience were too cool to clap.
Hello!!! Mcfly!!!! 😂
Who knew the bully was a geek, I also play the sousaphone it's pretty awesome seeing someone like him play it too

Its a testament to bis acting!

This man did not get nearly enough attention in Hollywood

Poop in the pool?? 😂 oh I’m using that from now on
Tom Wilson's worked constantly since BTTF, but he's a character actor (which is what usually happens to the more versatile talent).
Haha. The audience couldn't handle the off-beat. Good stuff.
How have I never heard about him as a comic? Hilarious! Timeless humor! Total joy to watch!!
"Now Biff, don't con me!"
Oh, hahaha, I'm sorry Ms. Clark. I meant to sing the bass line of Moon River.
I laughed so hard when he played "Moon River".
Hahahaha
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 🤣
Yeah that's the best part of the whole thing
Good job, Carson invited him over. Surprised Tom is not in more comedy movies, he is great. I remember I enjoyed his role in the old Wing Commander games with Mark Hamill.
Right, he was in WC 3 with Hamill - totally forgot that.
He's also in Larry the Cable Guys movie Health Inspector as his boss ;)
The comments are totally on point.

Tom nailed it. I love to see Johnny genuinely laughing from the guest.

Genuine and personable guy and funny!
He seems like such an awesome guy, they needed to use this in back to the future
Bahaha I remember playing the jaws theme on my tuba when I was younger... Hilarious!
Looks so young. I thought this was years before BTTF. What a talent!
Great actor, i loved him in freaks and geeks and obviously biff. Its nice to see him when he pops up in tv shows or movies.
I love Tom Wilson
What a wonderful actor-- he played the bully Biff perfectly yet is such a cool dude!
AN HI RAM that Biff
