Of all the videos on here to help me voyage through all the tips and features of this device after I’ve purchased, this was the best post. Thanks for sharing. I was blown away with the custom assignable midi pads for STEMS.
yo. 27,800 subscribers and 230 likes. I haven't touched this thing and I am supposed to pick up on 2/17/23. Pioneer owes you money lol. This is the best walkthrough that I have seen on the REV 7 or any other gear in a long, long time. I am going to be able to go in educated and ready to rock this thing. This dude killed it. You earned a sub, homie. Respect from Los Angeles. Blessings.
Pre-ordered mine last week. Can't wait to get it and start playing on it. Great breakdown video as I've looked at many for this controller. I'm new to the dj world and I want to learn how to scratch to add to my style of djn. I think this controller will be perfect for me for a long time. Way better than my numark nv2 (beginner controller), lol. Awesome job 💪🏾
I’ve seen a lot of videos of the rev-7 and this guy was on point!!! He pointed out a lot of things that some others did not. Great insight and additional ideas. He was really good. Thank you 🙏
This was one of the best reviews! I currently have the Traktor S4 MK3 so I'm looking to stay with motorized platters since that's what I'm used to now. This was helpful!!
Cab bank A of the FX have the channel filter, and Bank B have one of the other options like noise...? Or are the banks just for the 3 buttons each side of the main FX unit?
I've had my rev7 for 4 months now and the issue that I have is. Whenever you trigger your samples and if you turn down your volume slider for the music. It also turns down the sample volume???🤔
thanks for the vid. Does the power brick have a standard AC adaptor socket on one end, and 110-240v? I'm wondering if we can go between UK, EU, and USA by just using different AC plugs.
I am thinking why this controller does not work with recordbox is because the controller is kind of a hybrid, not a full midi device, it has some internal functionality like effects and sounds for scratches built into the unit. For the same thing, that is why the rev5 can work with record box, because it is a full midi controller.
Can you load up your own custom samples for the instant scratch yet? It seems strange to me to have such a great feature but with bolted on firmware samples only.
Def caught my attention. I just think the Rane 1 built quality is a lot better. If Rane 1 would had internal effects then that would be my go to controller. I could do without the screens. I rather have more real estate on the platters. But I def think it is geared towards the battle DJ’s. Most likely they’ll cone out with a Rev made just for Rekord box just like they did with 1000. Which sucks but it’s more money for Pioneer. I’ll wait to see what Rane will come back with but Rev 7 sure does look enticing.
@@P4boot By real estate I mean more space to put my hands on the platter .Since the Rane 1 is kinda like a turntable I can put my hands anywhere on the platter instead of just the 2 inches (approximately) the Rev gives u. Plus on the Rane 1 I can actually use the spindle in the middle just like my 12’s. It’s just a comfortability factor for me. Rev 7 looks great dont get me wrong but if Rane updates a few things on a future Rane 2 then I just might go that way.
I'd rather see them release some competition for the Rane 12. I've been using V7s for years now, and have never gotten comfortable with the tiny 7" platters.
As long as it was compatible with Rekordbox as well as Serato, I'd be happy! Did you see our April Fools last year? 😂 th-cam.com/video/PZVWhCiiSJs/w-d-xo.html
hey mate just subscribed, learnt a few things in this vid as i only just got my rev 7 so thank you! i was wondering if you could do a video on how to setup for streaming dj sets? like what you would need apart from the overhead camera etc, i've been djing for many years but want to start doing little scratch videos work up to streaming, thanks
Great vid! My gripe with this unit is the pitch adjustment location. Absolutely no need for battle style like needed for any player that does not use or have a tone arm/needle cartridge. Battle DJ’s changed the position of the turntable into what is called “battle style” to avoid bumping the needle/tone arm. So why have that design set up? I prefer the pitch in a normal set up which is also less obtrusive and comfortable in my opinion.
Thanks for your comment. As we say in this video, the REV7 is all about muscle memory. The pitch fader placement is where a DJ who has their turntables in battle mode would expect it to be!
Why can’t pioneer do on board analysis? That’s my only gripe that I still need to analyse my music via laptop and I still can’t play this as a standalone. If it could have Denons on board analysis and streaming capabilities then I’d be all over this. Till then I’m hoping Denon release lc6000s with spinning platters to integrate with my P4. Good review though mate. 👍
Sold my 3 week old rev7 for 1.2k waiting for them to surprise me later. Hopefully, a mirrored layout, 4 channel Rane one with A9,s9 or s11 mixer & motorised platters! 😊 Plz don't use that horrendous platter vinyl rules!
It's definitely something that could happen. Although it would be a shame to define CDJ users as rekordbox and turntable / moving platters with Serato. Why not both!?
It's a pro controller and it enables Serato Pro. It would use the same record creates and setting/ backups as lite. So wouldn't make a difference which software you wanted to open
like you said, this is a scratch controller so most people who will buy this are already used to, and have muscle memory to use the pitch set up battle style. plus they didn't do that cause there was no room beside the platters, and the external power was to save weight and really, cause there is no room to have it built in.
Hey Scott, looks like you missed our first drop, but you're top of the list for our next which should be mid Feb! We'll be in touch when it's on it's way to you, but feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions!
If Rane makes a software update to include on board FX (even if they charge a small fee), good bye Rev 7. I have a Rane One and that thing feels like I bought a mini Techniques 1200 system (proud owner of 1200s tts, Sz and SX). Bad ass!!!
Once again you can count on pioneer to be the pimps of the industry with another overpriced piece of equipment. And just wait, another new shiny version will be just around the corner to piss off the poor bastards that shelled out their hard earned Bitcoins 👍🏾

Thanks so much, glad it was helpful! Let me know what you think of it once you get yours! Don't forget to sub!

I appreciate that! Don't forget to sub for more videos! 🥰
Solid explanation, much respect from Toronto, Finally got one and just opened the box!
Toronto in the building! Glad it was helpful, enjoy! 🔥
Nice review and question my friend where i can get the sticker the same as you got on your laptop
Great review and excellent point when you talked about the scratch bank!!!
Glad you liked it! Yea, although the Scratch Bank requires a laptop so I guess the Instant Scratch is helpful in that sense!
This was one of the best reviews! I currently have the Traktor S4 MK3 so I'm looking to stay with motorized platters since that's what I'm used to now. This was helpful!!
Glad I could help! The REV7 is an absolute beast, you won't be disappointed! Although you should take a look at the RANE ONE also!
Cool..... ! - Where did you get your MacBook sticker?
Hey why do I getting a delay sound out of my headphone when I’m using serato effects ?? The sound for the speakers and my headphone not the same time.
Solid review ive seen so far with the rev7...
Thank you! Don't forget to sub for more!

I own this and lv it, I too would prefer Rokordbox with this unit.. Anyone know if Pioneer will update this to work with Rkordbox?
Is there a short cut to delete loops on a track with going to the laptop?
How to use the parameter buttons to access more pages and options for the pads ?
thanks for the vid. Does the power brick have a standard AC adaptor socket on one end, and 110-240v? I'm wondering if we can go between UK, EU, and USA by just using different AC plugs.
AC 100 V - 240 V, 50 Hz / 60 Hz, so yes you could just swap the plug out!
The best review!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad it was helpful! Don't forget to sub for more!

This controller now does work with rekordbox! A recent firmware update made it compatible! 👌
Yeah, great review - great voice! 😄♥️
Thank you! 😁 Don't forget to sub for more!

Not yet! Totally agree, it needs to be a feature in a firmware update!

Not taking anything away from the RANE ONE, it's a great controller! Have you played on either yet?
ReV7 actually has more real estate on the platters if that’s not what you mean.

Where did you get laptop sticker? Dope!
Hey Gary, I just got it from eBay I think! Here you go:

Thanks for the sub! Yes, I can add that to my list of videos for you!
I may have missed it, but how is best to attach the markers to the “vinyl” do you literally just stick them on top where you want them?
Yea, they are just stickers, so you can put them where you want! They come in different thickness options as well!
Can I record the Pioneer effects inside of Serato Dj for mix purposes? If not, how can I record into my DAW (Ableton) or Serato Studio?
Has the DDJ-REV7 a workflow for needle search / needle dropping?
okay, i got it..... it's them same like the DDJ-1000(SRT)
Glad you clocked it!
Does the 7 inch vinyl feel like real turntables or scratch the same like the pioneer plx 1000
It feels great! The torque settings are a nice touch as well!
great review....cheers!
Thank you! Cheers! Don't forget to sub!
MANY THANKS FOR THE REVIEW. PLEASE HOW DO I GET TO THE REV 7 UTILITY ON THE LAPTOP TO UPLOAD MY LOGO ? I HAVE SEARCH EVERYWHERE PLEASE HELP OU...
You can download the setting utility here:

Rev7 looks awesome 🔥 - Once you use the S11/S7 layout- the 900nsx2/ddj-1000 mixer layout feels a little dated.
I wouldn't say dated, but it's definitely a layout that you end up getting used to! Thanks for the comment, don't forget to sub!
Sold my 3 week old rev7 for 1.2k waiting for them to surprise me later. Hopefully, a mirrored layout, 4 channel Rane one with A9,s9 or s11 mixer & motorised platters! 😊
Plz don't use that horrendous platter vinyl rules!
You hit it, dead on! It could be a Rekordbox version of this mixer with cdj jog wheels instead of the moving platters. I believe that's gonna happen.
It's definitely something that could happen. Although it would be a shame to define CDJ users as rekordbox and turntable / moving platters with Serato. Why not both!?
is this controller compatible with serato dj LITE not pro but lite

@@mypanasonic6862 i typed that LAST YEAR but ok
Let' s if the paint in the crossfader area comes of that fast like on the S9. Built quality wise Rane seems to be way better than Pioneer.
That was a bit of a flaw in the S9, although you could argue anyone cutting that much would probably have a turntable and battle mixer set up?
like you said, this is a scratch controller so most people who will buy this are already used to, and have muscle memory to use the pitch set up battle style. plus they didn't do that cause there was no room beside the platters, and the external power was to save weight and really, cause there is no room to have it built in.
Thanks for the comment! I did hear that the power bank was to save weight, but still a big shame IMO!
Got mine on order from djkit (yrselfs) when is it due in pleeeaseee . Upgrading from ddj1000 n the rev 7 is sure ganna sing Wen I get it yeahhhhh 👌🤩
Hey Scott, looks like you missed our first drop, but you're top of the list for our next which should be mid Feb! We'll be in touch when it's on it's way to you, but feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions!
Its because of the motorised platters it won't work with record box i heard not sure how right this is
That shouldn't make a difference. Really hoping for Rekordbox compatibility!
very good
Thanks! Don't forget to sub for more!
Ahh man I want one so bad 🤦🏾♂️😫🤣🤣🤣
You won't regret it!
PS.... excellent review!!!
Thank you! Don't forget to sub for more!
Wikid bit of kit that!
It's honestly phenomenal!

Have you played on the REV7 to compare though?
Once again you can count on pioneer to be the pimps of the industry with another overpriced piece of equipment. And just wait, another new shiny version will be just around the corner to piss off the poor bastards that shelled out their hard earned Bitcoins 👍🏾
Thanks for the comment Kelly! What do you think would be on the new version?
