    Hi Phil :) my XZ finally arrived yesterday and I set it up in no time at all and stuck in a usb and had tracks playing, it's an amazing controller. Today I decided to watch your video again to refresh my memory with everything it does. Thank you Phil for the hard work you put into making this video it has really helped a lot and saved me having to read through the manual. :)

    Hi Phil,
    You have no idea how much of a life saver you are. Even thou this video is 4 Years old. I just started self-learning DJing...I use DDJ FLX-400 as being a beginner. I went to a club with my friend and the DJ playing on very different equipment there ( XDJ-XZ, its indeed Expensive ) and got hell scared like how to use/know all of that. But your guide helped and cleared soo many thing and also gave me huge confidence that its all the same if you know what all it does. THANKS A LOT ♥

    Hi Phil,
    Just wanted to say a big thank you for making this video.
    I have watched it a few times now in preparation to me switching from Traktor Pro 2 using my S4 mk2, to a Pioneer XDJ-XZ which I took delivery of just a couple of days ago.
    I'm a complete newbie to Rekordbox and using Pioneer gear, so quite a bit to get my head round, especially with this unit.
    This video walk through of every single button has been a big help especially as there are some considerable differences between the 2 products.
    But particularly to the options and settings within the menu.
    You have really helps me out on that front as there has been a few things pickling my brain.
    I'm so sad, I even made notes as I have gone through the video as I knew I wouldnt remember everything once I'm standing in front of the XZ. 😂
    Thanks you so much, you're the man! 👊😎

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not sad, it's a great idea! Do make sure you download the Pioneer written manual itself and print it out too - they are a great complement to each other.

    Hi Phil, Just wanted to say that this has got be one of the best learning clips I’ve seen and love the way you have explained this controllers functionality which is applicable elsewhere. During lockdown I’ve focused on my hidden passion for DJing but I’m 58 so probably a bit late to learn. I’ve dabbled over the years but not taken it seriously’ not realising that it’s something I really love. I’ve just upgraded from my Denon MX6000 Mk2 to Rekordbox Ddj1000 and this tutorial has been very useful indeed. I’ve subscribed to your feed and am impressed with the content; keep up the excellent work, I will be tuning in. Many thanks Graham.

      The same zealots as the Pioneer ones, screaming 'its the clubstandard', or 'Denon for peasants/bedroomers' for decades, right?
      And yes the XZ is too expensive for that ancient screen, lack of SD/Sata/Wifi, and limited RAM (can't even do more than 8-beat jump). But I don't further care about it. I have left Pioneer and couldn't be more happier.

    • @substance90
      @substance90 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@BlueHawk80 a zealot by definition preaches to people who haven’t even asked him for an opinion. I don’t see anyone trolling Denon videos and saying “this is shit, buy Pioneer”.

    • @BlueHawk80
      @BlueHawk80 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@substance90 Well, I have seen a lot, in videos, forums, blogs and social media. For years, when Denon has struggled and was a shadow of itself. Yeah, those fanboys have now become rather silent since the SC5000 got released, and they really should. Ofc you still get the standard "Prime 4 looks like Star Trek toy" or "Engine suckssss" quotes now and then. So again, trolls are on *both* sides and they suck, period and peace out.

    I used to own a djm2000 with the noise effect. I will point, after you explained with assigning the noise effect to the empty channel with nothing playing, you can also use the trans effect with it on the beat effects which make a real cool sound to open and close sets. Idk I figured it out on my 2000 many years ago. I currently don’t mix anymore BUT have missed it and want to buy something compact and have fun with. This ticks most boxes really. Thanks for the preview… Oh! Also you mentioned the vinyl break adjustment, you an also use the slip feature with and adjust the vinyl break speed and use the pause/play button to make some interesting cuts sounds to mash things up a little. The vinyl break mode on the beat effects kind of does that too ( but you did cover that )

    Hi, great information in the video.
    I purchased my xdj-xz from a Dj kit shop.
    When I set up the xdj-xz, I was disappointed.
    A) not having cross fader start function like my cdj-900 x2 and compatible mixer. [ using INTERNET SWITCH UNIT. I had my set up as.:-
    SETUP INTERNET SWITCH UNIT. for the CDJ-900 NEXUS and DJM-900 NEXUS.
    This setup , I was able to start cued track on CDJ-900 NEXUS., using cross fader on my DJM-900. NEXUS . ].
    B) Like you said, not being able to control CDJ'S Setup on channels, 3 & 4.
    I've owned my Xdj-xz for a little while now, genuinely happy with my xdj-xz, apart from the two above points that I mentioned.
    Which unit best ?
    XDJ-XZ.
    XDJ-AZ.
    OPUS QUAD.
    Should I take back my XDJ-XZ too the dj shop and exchange to XDJ-AZ.
    P.s.
    To whom concern.
    Please keep the Pioneer name for new dj kit released. I been using Pioneer kit for decades now.
    Love from Dj Mastercopy 😊
