No voice over still more informative than 95% of any genre of instructionals that’s how you know someone knows what they’re talking about
Very good tips in a short time. Hard to string all these together while swimming. Props to all the good swimmers out there.
Glad it was helpful! Happy swimming!
Regular practice, you'll end up being a good swimmer yourself in no time
When you kick less but the coach tells you to kick more
Kick for sprints but otherwise, kick less
as a swimmer i can smell the chlorine through the pool, and feel the breathing pressure through the screen 😭
Faxx brooo😂😂😢😢😢
Use Triswim after you swim to remove the chlorine 😊
@@sbrsportsinc no
what you smelled must be chloramite
@@sbrsportsinc Thank you!!!
Pulling with a straight arm isnt "wrong". It's a sprinting technique people use called windmill and it's mostly for 50s. It puts a lot of strain on the shoulders because you pull a lot of water
Yes, sub-21 was done with straight arm. Tough way to swim though.
Yes when i rush the 50s my arm spinning straight like a Boat propeller ahaha
Straight arm over the water yes, but not underwater. It’s a straighter arm in sprinting than distance, but it’s not that over rotated position shown in the clip with a dead straight arm.
@@Chrissummerill even underwater it doesn't effect your speed but it makes it super exhausting
Sure but I like drink to milk with it to
Haha, the Cross arm position looks hilarious. That position you do when lost balance
haha thats me when out of breath
This is the kind of video I'd want. No bs, straight up info.
It’s kinda bs bc there are situations to use the straight arm and to kick more frequently
@@williamspencer5394true
The second one: if I kick less, My Coach will tell me to kick more
im doing everything right and im still slow lol
You'll have to train your strength with different exercises
yea try lifting moderately heavy weights combined with explosive exercises, will help you establish more power, a swimming pool is only ever one setting of resistance where bands weights ect are adjustable to harder difficulty
My best time in fresstyle is 35 i am 12 year old
@@venomiscoming868 35 sec?, what is the length of the pool?
Same, my partners are newbies and they're not as right as me. YET, SOMEHOW THEY'RE OUTRACING ME!
Just started swimming again. Thanks for these helpful tips!
How to swim correctly:
Forget every habit you’ve ever done because it’s all wrong.
This helped me so much bc tomorrow I have a swimming carnival 50 meters and freestyle so thx sm
I enjoy the “Wrong” sound effect
😆🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol same😂
Lol who is crossing over ? I need to know NOW! 😂
Me…
A lot of new swimmers trying to go fast do this. Even me who'd at the point I'd last did this had already been swimming competitively for 10 years. (I started when I was 6) it's easy to do because the video way over exaggerates the movement. Crossing over actually usually comes from the hips and the swimmer trying to throw third arm further to get more reach
@@5amm0n79 I have been swimming for over 8 years, the only reason I cross over some times is when I breath too high up, it makes my right arm cross over a bit to my left side. Not as much as they show in the vid though. Y’all do competitive swimming?
Who tf crosses over bruh 5 year old me and my 4 year old baby brother didn’t even do that
@@DlooberPooper it’s not full crossing over. It’s your arms slightly bending over while swimming a few inches.
I wouldn’t say kicking “too much” is bad, it’s actually probably good. The issue is when the feet come out of the water like in the video. For a powerful freestyle kick you want to be kicking fast but also powerful, and you get that power by keeping your feet under.
Keeping your legs straight. Don't forget that. Don't bend them like in the video.
I was going to make a similar comment.
I’m an ex-swimmer and I can say that this is all true
Gotta get back
Thanks I didn't didn't believe them before
@@mdstate829 because of covid. Got start up again soon

@@Hannah-mu8mv unless you(or family) are immunocompromised, covid should not be stopping you from swimming.
I am a newbie. This actually helps. Each day I am a more confident swimmer 🏊♀️
Keep up the great work! Happy swimming :)
The funny thing is the straight arm portion looks more correct on the wrong than on the right one
Agreed, the “correct” form, looks bad
It isn't exactly incorrect, it just helps you get your hand out easier while the straight arm puts alot of pressure to the shoulders
You don’t want to kick to much, but keep it quick.
Always wanted to swim freestyle correctly...this video has helped me improve my technique...thank you
There are possibilities for you to go forward down if you do the wrong way (first one)How do i know?I go to swim class,i might be wrong.
Thx this actually helps a lot!! (I’m a waterpolo player and I struggle with freestyle on my swim team! They teach u totally opposite things 😂😂😂)
Wdym about pulling straight?
Freestyle swimming is my favorite !!! These tips are gonna help me out lots. Been swimming for a few years now.
Great to hear! Keep it up and happy swimming :)
oikk0
Freestyle is my favourite, but I’m faster in backstroke, sigh...
breastroke sucks, butterfly better (no seriously tho its my favorite and fastest stroke)
"Kicking too much" but then coach "where's your kick kick faster"
*Your coach tells you kicking faster is better*
Thats good when you are a beginner, then you focus on technique and energy efficiency
And they say i should turn my head higher, to the point that i can see the ceiling lol
@@Shaitauh so really if u wanna be competitive faster kick is better but yes Technique is also important
@@vuongchuyenuh unless thats a weird drill ur coach is wrong
@vuongchuyen
Kicking too much isn’t exactly bad, just uses up a lot of energy but is usually faster than arrow
This clip has the sound design of an ad for a mobile game
BTW u have to look not down or up more down but a little up
That means I am doing right without knowing.. cause everyone was saying that I was doing wrong...but now I can tell them..😎
idk if i can do that without panicking and messed the flow or not
Last one depends on the kind of freestyle
I’m a swimmer here and I will say these are absolutely correct this is what all my coaches say and if you need to work on technique ( always work on technique first ) and these will also help being faster.
I didn’t know about the arms, thanks 🙏
I once kept my head down for nearly the whole length so I nearly bumped my head on the wall💀
The bottoms of most pools are marked, so swimmers can know where they are. Unless your pool isn't, then that's kind of unfortunate. Not knowing where you're going can really mess up your flow...
Our local pool isn’t marked, so, one time, when I was swimming freestyle, I scraped my fingertips on the wall (our wall is the sandpapery kind.) I had to hold in my tears.
Breathing is indeed one of the crucial mistakes
How do u grasp air then?
@@bleh5929 You just don't!🤷🏻♀️
@@almarthalogias haha figured out how to and its easy🙈
@@bleh5929 There you go!👏🏼🥳💪🏼😎❤️❤️ Very good!
It sounded insane to me as well, until I started been able to do it! 🙌🏼 Keep it up!
No wonder I'm so slow, I'm doing all of these at the same time😅😅😅
It’s actually good to look slightly forward when your swimming freestyle. Head position is everything.
Yes.
Yes
Niiice without music i like this concise and clear.
When he said breathing, and I am a swimmer, my mind went to: NO BREATHING FOR YOU!
😂😂how breathing is incorrect!!!
True. My coach made me get to the point we're it doesn't look like I'm breathing. If he saw me breath it's another lap. For non swimmers if you go fast enough, a small air pocket forms next to your head. It lets you breath will both you eyes/goggle lenses are still in the water.
@5amm0n79 i didnt know that thanks
i just realised i was doing all these mistakes except the cross hands one
thanks for this video
Also crossing your arms puts a Lotta stress on your shoulder
Agreed! All swimmers should always avoid crossing their arms under their body and breaking their own personal line of symmetry!
I want to get back into swimming so badly. I wish the pool wasn’t so far away.
Nice short for great tips . I would add about the gap among fingers I have seen many people doing that like grabbing the water
You want a small gap between your fingers! It creates a small membrane between your hand and the water, increasing the surface area of your hand so you can pull more!
@@FaresKsebati THX for that tip
Kicking too much is my problem
Very informative for good swim learning
I over excessively kick and swim with my head forward and hold the top 3 time in my state for highschool
You should fix that and be First.
Hi I'm 12 and I run a 4:12 mile I feel so slow oops wrong video
@@llewodcm20 Μίνι μάρκετ και το νερό
Over kicking ain't bad if you do it well. A good kick mean don't been you knees at a 90 degree angle like in the video. Keep your legs straight when you kick. Do it strong. And keep it fast.
You can never kick to much
Not looking forward is easier said than done in a crowded public pool 😐
Thanks this really helped me understand the breathing in free style😊😘
Me when the coach says I need to kick & make more splashes:
*pulls out phone from nowhere and plays this video*
can someone explain what does it mean by pulling with a straight arm
좋은 영상 감사합니다.
요즘 아들이 수영 자세가 안 좋아 고민하던 차에 도움이 많이 될거 같아요.
Does the shape of the foot have an impact ?
Mine arent quite flat so i think i cannot really get so much surface to kick
swimming is probably the only sport where you get yelled at for breathing
Very useful tips. Keep on posting.....Do some tips for beginners plz.
Sure 😊
@@FaresKsebati that was amazing that two male and female are awesome swimmer and she was wearing a swimsuit 🩱🏊👫🩳 that was amazing video

Please make video like this again for breakstoke swimming, I am waiting for it
Sometimes my neck also pains, what am I doing wrong?
thx for the tips,I swim a lot faster now
That's awesome to hear! Keep it up!
Depends on what kind of event you are doing for the kicking, pace defines your kick and your arms in every stroke stay relatively the same speed all the time.
Yes! You want to kick quick but not too much or you’ll get tried or what I do, is do larger more steady kicks at first then get faster as I go on!! But not too slow at first!
For the looking down thing I'm always scared I'm going to run to a wall
If you haven't been told yet. The lines at the bottom of the pool help. Most end in a T to help you know when to flip turn.
Thank for help us.
More tips.
That summed up everything ❤
I feel swimming smoothly at your tips
Great to hear! Keep up the good work and happy swimming :)
Taking a breath is my issue. The moment I turn my head out of the water to try and breath the water just gushes right up into my nose and mouth. How do I fix this? 🤔
For nose you should learn to slowly breath out through it. Maybe try humming as you swim. In the video it shows the person breathing through one side of their mouth as they turn their head to be parallel with the surface of the water. One goggle in, one goggle out. That's a good way to do it or- if your swimming slow to try to practice breathing. Don't... The fast you go the easier it is to breath like this. Your head creates a wave as you swim. Coincidentally the low spot ends up just were your mouth is. If you go fast enough you only need to turn you head a tiny bit to get a breath. im talking if 12 o'clock is the bottom of the pool? Then 1 o'clock can get you a breath. Speed maters. If your arms are getting tired and you can't get that speed. You need to kick hard and fast with straight legs. This video says don't kick fast. But their faster kicking demo has someone kick with their legs bending like wet noodles. It will be very tiring at first but doo some kicking drills and puch through the pain of them and after a few weeks you'll notice a huge difference in both your kicking and your times. Lemme know if you need more tips. I almost went to state for the 500 freestyle back in highschool. I've got plenty of tips.
Oh right I'd also recommend starting out. Breathe every 3 strokes so you get plenty of air and learn to breathe on both sides. In you head count 1 2 3 then breath right, then 1 2 3 breath left continuing. Then once you get comfortable with that try to breathe every five. It gets you more used to holding your breath. In higher levels of competitive swim you shouldn't breathe inside the flags. At lease each pool I've seen has a set of flags hanging across the pool about 5 meters or 5 yards away from the wall.
@@5amm0n79 Thank you for those tips. I'm going to try them
I am a messy kicker 🤦🏽♀️
Oh my this is so simple n informative. Thank you
Glad it was helpful! Happy swimming :)
I am a beginning swimmer, and I feel I always have to look up a bit to make sure I dont hit swimmers in front of me. Anyone got any suggestions for that?
Pushing The Ester against The moviment when you insert your hands in the water. You must take tha water and throw as long your body to your sides.
Great helpful video thanks 😊
Ok the side breathing thing… water goes in my mouth 🙃
The breathing technic is hard
That was really helpful especially the first one .Thanks a lot
For the kick it is more important to have a complete flow rather than a powerful kick
Yeah wow thanks buddy I never new I shouldn’t have my legs at a 90 degree angle while doing free
@aswer huio what
@aswer huio how so
Nah because I already knew we were supposed to look down yet I still look forward ✋💀
youre supposed to look diagonally, this vid is exageratex
I thought this was about rap lol, I was like "ooooh, don't look forward because you gotta focus on what it saying not what it gonna say" and then I realised, but this still helped me out.
Im a swimmer in swim club and this helps
I don't know if one day I will swing like that, but I'm trying. Good tips 👍 thanks
You can do it! Happy swimming :)
Thx hope this works bc I am watching this before my swimming competition
These are exact 5 mistakes that I need to correct!!!
Glad I found this video 🫡🫡
The “correct” pulling method showed someone who pulls way too wide, which can result in shoulder injury. Your hand should stay under your body without crossing your midline. Also, competitive swimmers can disregard what they said about kicking. For anything 200 or shorter, a strong kick is vital to get enough speed.
Love this!❤
Me who keeps turning my volume up to try and hear the music 😅
I love how breathing is just simply wrong
Great! Thanks! These were definitely some of the mistakes i did like pulling with straight hands
Best video on TH-cam 😂
Learning to Swimming is so stressful
Came here to improve my rap skills and now I am more educated on how to swim
Finally someone who knows what theyre talking about. My coach has beaten all of this stuff into our brains
1. My Age 2. My shoulder injuries, and suregies 3. My Joints
I increased the volume of my device, and even checked if my earphones were working, If you know you know 🤦
When bro said ‘breathing’.. aight. 💀
I did all the mistakes right in the video lol. Now I'm going back to the gym to do it correctly lmao 😂
For the arm pull in freestyle or CSS. Think of doing a underwater pull-up. With the hand that’s pulling.
I'm averaging 2:00/100m for 2km and above but just can't bring it down. I feel so inefficient, the more I concentrate on correcting part of my form the more I miss something else. It's so frustrating.
