- As mobile games continue to skyrocket in popularity many developers are doing everything they can to carve out a spot for themselves in a very competitive market.
Within the ocean of competition trying to earn the player’s attention, fun and fast multiplayer games of any genre tend to be the ones that have stood out the most. It’s a trend that has been figured out by the likes of Supercell, the company behind insanely popular titles like Clash Royale and Brawl Stars, while other developers are still working towards figuring out how they can make a game that hits all the right notes to become just as popular.
One such developer is trying to compete and make a name for themselves as well with their own take on a multiplayer mobile game with a couple of twists added in for good measure.
That game is Smash Legends.

As someone who used to play this game competitively, I'm surprised you didn't say anything about how dedicated some players are to this game. Although there's no clan system in the game, players made their own clans through Discord and a ton of servers have been made. Some of the clans were shown in the video, such as DF (Duel Fiends) and XPR. Honestly, the clans are it's own rabbit hole from the game, I'd know, I'm a clan leader myself

I think there is synergy, timeout, random gang, sun, notorious, vortex, radiant, lethal X, asylum, good vibes, KOAS citygirls, verge of extinction, PLU, candy club, Echelon lotus guild, 3D2Y, insomnia, and more. (Clans)
as someone who play it competitively, i wanna ask you, like how do you even master this game? ive been attempting to play this game for 3 months and i legit feel like ripping my hair out in even trying to hit a box. playing with auto targeting didnt even help and made my life even worse.
I need a good starter that is really good for bad beginners. ive tried playing peter and goldie but i really suck. the most copium that i can bare with now is literally grinding my butt off with rapunzel and she's the only character that i play at the moment. any tip would really much appreciated
@@ScribbleDaru pretty much by experience, you'll learn enemy tactic and their movements. Basically getting to know how the enemy thinks.
Getting to know the other characters moveset even though you don't main them could also be helpful for you to counter them in a match.
And For me, I tried to master Peter by using him a ton. Understanding his moves, as well as going against various enemies and figuring out how to counter each one with peter. I mastered him and became a pretty annoying enemy to go against. The cons for this is you'll be targeted often, and essentially becomes the bait (in my pov).
There are some characters that is difficult to dealt with, using peter, but not impossible I'd say.
Gradually expand the characters you use once u think you got the hang of it. Mastering one is better than mastering none. -- my opinion.

@@1366Erik it's not a bad game, well in my personal opinion, but they were running out of money, the characters were not balanced, and to be honest it isn't easy too, ppl were complaining that the game was money hungry (they complained about this after they ran out of money, they weren't money hungry before) and they are trying everything to keep the game up, but it's kind of hard to due to small community and little support.
@@1366Erik From my personal experience, the game is very unique and fun despite the lack of depth, but it still feels like a objective based team fighter (a horribly under used genre, with smash being the only one of it's kind). The character classes are really defined, making their play style very different while still allowing you to solo pop off and not feel like your just playing a reflavored dps (like brawl stars). As someone pointed out the devs are running low on cash so updates are sporadic and don't usually add much, plus rank queue is dead. But the game play loop is fun and gaining and upgrading legends is very easy as a f2p so you don't need to commit heavily to the game so its perfect for occasional casual play while you have nothing esle to do

I've been playing this game for a few months and it's fun. Tried to play ranked ,which was dead everytime I tried, and the grind is a bit rough after a bit, but other than that it's a pretty damn fun game.

For ranked I recommend waiting for about 45ish minutes after it opens up to look for matches. Dunno why but it seems for the first bit that it opens every day it's dead.

A friend let me know about this game, it was pretty cool, my main issue was that sometimes the games would take more than a minute or two to load but then i was interested in the little lore pieces the loading screens would give you.

I played back when the game released and dropped it after a while due to the extremely predatory practices with its monetization. I'm trying it again now years later and it feels much better, being able to just play the character you want to play is much much better.
When i initially tried this game i hated how hard it was to unlock characters too. But now that its fixed and we can even buy them with normal credits the game is so worth playing and i would urge everyone to give it a try. Also don't be fooled, the steam version runs real nicely
It's way better now, but it'll need a new wave of players or make their older players come back. The game is very fun, just needs more people to play it. It's only downside right now are the abilities lootboxes but they're not game changers, just very useful.
i remember playing this games years ago, i love this. it feels similar like Lost Saga or Smash Bros, and this games definitely good. while years ago this game has issued like frame rate or bug issues, the games thankfully has been fixed and i will to play again

I’ve played this game since the season where Flare was introduced. I really do like the gameplay style and even prefer it over Brawl Stars. I love the characters and the lore of the game’s world too. Really hope this game can go even higher in the future someday

Hia! long time player here with over 1k hours on the game, sadly I have to say PLEASE stay away from this game. The developers have made some horrible changes recently and the community absolutely hates it, they have been doing nothing but driving away long term players recently. Ever since 5minlabs took full control over the game we now have zero communication with the devs and are really left in the dark as to what they're working on.
The most recent updates have been nothing but them adding COMPLETELY PAY 2 WIN features. And when I say pay to win I REALLY mean it, plus its super expensive. They have added new "perks" that you can add to your legend called "enchantments". You CANNOT earn these in anyway shape or form as a free to play player, and guess what? There in loot boxes..... These enchants are absolutely game breaking and majority of players want them removed. We all complained for days in their public discord about it and 5Minlabs stayed silent as always. Instead of removing what we all hate they added more and more broken enchants and plan on adding more. These abilities are so strong they can seriously ONE HIT YOU, Increase your overall damage by 15% and increase your health by 15%..... I wouldn't really care if it was cheep and I could pick what enchants I wanted to get, but there in RANDOM loot boxes that cost $40 PER BOX!!!!!
Let me state why this is scummy ^ : They recently stated in their public discord that they were really struggling with money. So instead of releasing new features to the game, new skins, better battle pass or anything of the sort. They add a feature where if you don't pay you are now at a major disadvantage to everyone else.
The game no longer requires skill to play and is pretty much based off of who plays the most OP legends and who has spent the most money on the game. Again, WE DONT WANT THESE ENCHANTS IN THE GAME. The company is struggling really bad with money, so this is how they are pretty much forcing people to spend money on their game. If you don't spend money on the game now you will not be able to keep up with the ones that do.
So to sum everything up : This game used to be really fun and skill based, now It is a pay to win game that is impossible to get into as a new player now as the p2w players will stomp on you. Do not support this company, they have destroyed what amazing game this used to be.

10 months later and the game is still at a constant struggle, some things just never change.
Im happy that you bring this game yo the channel, i played it when they released It (1 year ago) and i never stopped supporting the game even when they changed their services from LINE games to 5minlab and reworked the system, but is honestly sad that most of the matches are with bots because they are a few players playing the game up to this day.

In my opinion as a Brawl Stars player, the game feels great and different enough to call it as it's own game instead of a clone. Though I only played it less than a week due to having an inferior phone and of course lag issues.
But it doesn't stop it from being a bad game, the gameplay is fast paced and fun to play, hopefully I may return back with my newer phone and wait for it to see its problems be resolved. A 4.2/5 game
I didn't expect Smash Legends to be mentioned here. Played it when it's new, it's a fun game. Haven't been playing anymore, but i still would like to jump back in sometimes, since i still watched random matches of the game to see how it evolved.
Also, this reminded me that they ditched Dominion as the main gamemode and used the new one instead.
I hope this game grew big, see a lot of potential there
I not really a gamer, I like how this games can finish so quickly, I play at least 1 hour or 30 minute daily and then coutinue do my job. Really base on your skill and read enemy movement, you can do combo atk to.

I just downloaded this last week and I have been really enjoying it. When i saw the title I was a little shook but I did not know that it had so many issues before. I am happy for how far it has come.
as someone who played this game since flare adition i loooove the game, but a lot of bad decisions were made along the way that greatly inpacted the game and the playerbase. i am currently happy to where its going but i also miss some stuff that were changed or removed.
By the most part the devs actually listen to the comunity and reverted some pretty big bad changes, but its still weird they happened in the first place

As someone who has played brawl stars for years and played smash legends at launch, they definitely have tons of notable differences. Just in the map design and movement alone you can already feel the difference. I loved smash legends when it first came out but eventually had to drop it due to server issues. Hopefully, they fix it in the future as it's a game I would love to have on my playlist again. 🙏
Rly fun game pretty underrated in my opinion, the servers are definitely better than what stated in this video though. If people wonders if it's worth the try then i'll recommend to not hesitate to hop on the game!

It honestly depends on your region and how good your internet is. I noticed that smash needs a stronger connection than other games.
what a great review i love smash legends alot and ive been a fan of the game since the end of 202,1after quiting for a few months and then coming back some months later i was confused with some of the changes but i gradually fell in love with it, i actually plan on streaming this game on twitch but could cuz of life and stuff still one of the best 3v3 game ive played 10/10!
This game had so much potential, it could of been goated with the sauce, hopefully it makes it out of the shadows

One of the most criminally underrated games i know
I just uninstalled it like.. 10mins ago after playing for 1yr+. I don't grind as much anymore and the enchantment stone or wtv they recently added just adds wayy too much damage it feels so bad to play against players who have them. Edit: I'm back to playing! They're pretty generous with the free stuff now. You can level up legends pretty easily and playing against players with enchantment stones don't feel bad anymore.
personally i don't see much a difference, it doesn't change much FOR ME, but you can't completely blame them for making such measures, they don't have much money to support the game
Those got nerfed in the lastest patch. Still strong but not broken.
I love Smash Legends, it has been one of the few games that I earnestly keep on playing because how interesting it really is. I used to play Brawl Stars but I stopped since I reached my limit on the game where I feel all im doing is just grinding which sucks, so when I went to try out Smash Legends I felt the excitement I once had when I played Brawl Stars and now I have close friends to play it as well. I just wish Smash Legends get the support it needs to reach its potential since currently it is pretty good but a few problems are present in the game.
I’m the same but with brawlhalla, I don’t know if you’ve tried it but I think brawlhalla is everything that smash legends was supposed to be (commercially) and I’ve played brawlhalla since like 2017 and the first time I played smash legends (December) I instantly liked it better and I think I’m gonna be playing smash legends a lot more
I also think that smash legends is gonna blow up to the point of brawlhalla with time cuz it’s a new game

I am a old Smash Legends player. I have been playing it since two years ago. I have experienced Smash Legends v1 and I can say that is pretty terrible. Smash Legends v1 is a heavy p2w game. Players need to spend money and time opening boxes and joining battles in order to gain character ‘fragments’ and new characters. Thanks to Line Games, Smash Legends v2 feels like a completely new game for me. It gives a lot of benefits to old players and I really have fun with it. But still, the biggest problem of Smash Legends is server lag. This problem has improved a little bit since Smash Legends v1, but I am still experiencing it sometimes. Smash Legends is indeed a underrated game and I don’t understand why it isn’t popular right now. I hope more people can know more about Smash Legends through this great video, and more and more people would be able to try it out. Signing off, peace!

I have played brawl stars a hell lot and have gotten pretty good at it. At first glance, if you don't play the game at all It'd seem like a brawl stars clone. Maybe the UI is and the loots are very similar to how supercell would do it, however as for gameplay it's different by a mile. Smash legends is more akin to a platform fighting game than top down shooter like brawl stars and stick arena. The mechanics in Smash arena is quite technical and relies mostly on platforming movements and fighting game footsies. There's frame data, whiff punishing, hitstun, and even frame traps.
I mean if you look at smash legend menu and hero selection, it does look exactly like brawl star, but the fun part about smash legends is their gameplay definitely and now we are able to buy hero with golds instead of gacha through boxes, which is a huge step imo.
Last year I was one of the most active community members for this game. I made the top post of all time on the subreddit and was always on the server.
I really loved the game, so much so that it was the first game I've ever gotten top 1 local on, but the absolute bs that were the character drop rates made the game 10x harder for me, as I was one of the most unlucky guys I had seen (never got a character above super rare), and the terrible balance updates didn't help either and so I quit.
1 year later I always have the urge to reinstall the game as I loved it so much, but now I don't even have the time to grind as I did back then so i haven't, but you never know right

@@CandysChannel Yeah I started playing it again in december. I don't play it too much still but it is miles better than it was before. Now you can buy characters instead of peaying to rngesus and the meta is way more balanced. Also it's pretty f2p now
I love the concept of taking tales and turning their characters into fighters. It’s very refreshing and even though you can clearly see the inspiration of both Brawl Stars and Smash Bros, it’s a very good mix of both world and a fun game to enjoy.
If like me you love fairytales and discovering or rediscovering stories from your childhood, this is a fun way to do so

While it's not entirely false, there are some weird and just false things there.
For example, Deeznut published this video not because of ping but because he had a bad device, causing lag. It was literally a troll video... But okay.
Otherwise, this game always had a revenue issues since the start and they sadly failed to fix it, bringing more and more issues, yep, sad it's like that :/

I got to unlock Ranked, hoping it would be an improved version of 1v1 or 2v2 Deathmatch, only to find out it was a 3v3 Capture the Base mode.
I spent so much time waiting for people to queue, it killed my interest in continuing playing.
Also, the 1v1 mode is FULL of bots. You can tell because they never jump or play neutral, meaning they get demolished by ranged units.
Sad to see the game struggle, since it has a fantastic artstyle, great character designs and solid mechanics.
matchmaking is based on your character's rating. and most 1v1 duel players is already on the high rating level with their characters, that's why you keep meeting bots.
Tried it today, it's very fun for how simple it is. Wanna try it on PC when I get a chance

As a smash legends fan who's pretty active I can say while it is true that it's struggling, the game is slowly healing, the servers are still an issue but usually a vpn can fix that problem, it'll be a long time before this game can properly be seen as an equal for brawl stars, but I have hope, this game is going places and you can mark my words
This reminds me of Overwatch vs Paladins debacle that always happens. Both may look similar on surface level but the feel is very different than Brawl Stars
Also doesn't hurt that fairy tale characters are almost entirely public domain, as well.
I sort of wish there were more way to powerup your legends, and also need more way for selective Enhancements.

As a brawl stars player that has played Smash Legends for a bit, no Smash Legends doesnt seem like a brawl stars clone. Smash Legends while may take some inspiration it's clearly have its twist like jumping manually aswell the non gacha system. Personally I prefer Smash Legends gameplay but the server issues really hurts, Im just hoping that it can be fixed more and more. Still tho an underrated game

I tried it on tap tap and I can say this game was super fun while I was playing it. 2v2 feels fun and the game modes are interactive but have some minor flaws unless youre a speedy player who acts quickly. All n All good game after the overhauled content and store update. Worth trying, the servers aren't as bad as they used to be
One question. Have they fix the insanely long animation lock after the end of the combo? I played it last year and wanted to like it but that animation lock was just too much.

Recently downloaded smash legends and I'm an old time Brawl Stars player. I'm still starting my journey in smash legends but i can already tell there is a big difference in gameplay between both games. While Brawl Stars is more focused in distance management and area control i feel like smash legends is a bit more arcade and easier to comprehend. Only thing I'm missing is some good guides on TH-cam because I still don't know which path to follow. Should I buy lots pf characters pr should I master the one's i have and then go on to get new heros?
Anyway, both are good mobile game and should be played.
I do think this game is awesome. Although it has some problems, it's pretty much very good in every aspect right now, the gameplay is very unique, and it's always very fun to play. The balancing still needs some reconsideration, and servers are still kinda bad sometimes, but it's overall very good.
I do wish ranked could be played in teams of friends and they work on improving some hitboxes, but it's a game that a love and I think it's heading the right way.
I've always wanted to try this game out. Hopefully I can soon.
As a brawk stars player i enjoy smash legends a lot and it brings a different type of fun to the table, i just hope they fix the server issues as it's getting frustrating when the match ends and I'm still at the laoding screen xd

This is my All Time Favorite Multiplayer Game to play, this is my Comfort Game, and I genuinely believe it deserves so much more Attention.
Comparing it to Brawl Stars really isn't fair, cuz I've played Brawl stars before I played Smash Legends and they're honestly nothing alike.
I've yet to find another Game like Smash Legends and I love it so much and have so much hope for this Game.

5:24 this is a Humongus difference I love, since characters become people's favorites, so they want not any, just a specific character, which leads to them working for it.
I prefer this system over Brawlstars still Mediocre Lootboxes, that are locked behind a Battlepass. I wanted Edgar out the Rest of the brawlers, but unless I could be extremenly lucky no matter how hard I try I will feel like I'm working instead of Playing the game, as the thing Isn't even guaranteed, just a chance and I hate that it ruins the love for these guenenly intersting characters and leaves them up to slot machienes. Smash Legends Made an amazing marketing decision, that keeps player enjoying the game to play their favorite legend.
Thoughh still some characters have gameplay issues of being un-engaging to challange, not much built up i story, or missing something, Brawlstars has all these issues aswell. just overall being able to pay for access for a character is an Amazing change I wish brawlstars would move too instead of trying to suck people's Pennies.

The only time I had server issues, is when I was using too many Bluetooth connections while on wifi, oddly enough. But other than that, plays great!

Does Brawl stars have jumping or dunking(which is someone falling to the void)? Cause adding jumping mechanics make it so theres more freedom of different attacks,skills,ultimates like how Rapunzel's skill on the ground is just smashing her hair-blade to the groud but in the air she spins it around. And dunking just makes the game more competitive and harder to win cause if you get fliged too far from maybe Kaiser thats insta death. Also brawl stars doesnt have skills only ults (I think)
