I want to chime in as someone that's watched nearly all of her cooking/creative shows, bought her Halloween magazines every year for like five years, watched a few things with her daughter, saw some behind the scenes stuff on her show and on Conan... She's kind of a mischievous, odd, sassy lady. She's particular about the way she does things, and has a very, "Thanks for offering to help, but I've got it by myself" kind of attitude. She's got a great, but weird sense of humor that I can see some people either really enjoying, or really hating. The thing is, her delivery and words are sharp and kinda have that mild awkwardness that's really thrived when delivered by male comedians playing it straight. The mild-mannered, garden-loving, cookie-baking side of her is very present and very real, but I get the impression her editors and those that help produce her shows have to gently corral her into being more palatable. She's also really not afraid to make fun of herself. She's confident in who she is, but she doesn't really let her ego play into it. Like one Martha Stewart Halloween episode she had her set dressed up with little cardboard facades like a old Wild West Town for the kids with a Bank, Saloon, Inn, and a Jail with a Sherriff. She pointed out each one and said, "I know quite a bit about that one [Jail]."
