Just a note, the new guns (at least as of 2020) have left handed threads for the can mount, or as this guy calls it the "wheel". It didn't go well for me, I thought it would have standard threads and the Leo here shows taking the wheel off as leftey loosy. Mine was righty loosy!

Thanks Leo! My Hilti foam gun from 2009 is now back to working properly. 👌👍

You're a legend Leo 👍. I don't know how many I've thrown out but now I know what to do. Many thanks.

You just brightened my day! I thought there was no way to disassemble that gun!

The can-mount on mine is metal, not plastic.
Is there a way to know if the thread direction BEFORE reefing on it with pliers?
Maybe a date-code or version number on it somewhere?
Mine only has 8070 on top red plastic behind the can mount.
    thanks Leo et al

I had to break mine in order to find out the direction of the thread, but it was worth it because now I people can try to fix it before throwing it away

I believe the part where you screw on the foam is reverse threaded. I stripped mine out trying to turn it the way shown in this video.

yes same happened to me! dummy should have read your post first!!! Ruined my gun!

It is reverse threaded. He already had it set up lol.

Thanks for the video. I would add that soaking the final barrel/needle assembly in Acetone for a day or so should dissolve, or at least gooify, the dried material. Would make disassembly far less likely to be tragic.

I tried using a small nail set to push the pin down in nozzle tip just in cast it was stuck in there. I wanted to free it before twisting the nozzle off. I got everything apart without the pin breaking. So maybe what I did was helpful.

Be advised, the port that feed the canisters is easily stripped out, the one I tried on is too damaged to even tell if left or right threaded so cannot say and not ready to try another one at work for no good reason haha?
I did try lefty to loose though and fail but could also be Hilti soaking the threads when mounting together cause they are a no dissemble company for sure!
But the small ball valve for the bottle to feed, in the centrum of the port opening, I find that 90% there is where it will clog up tight first. "Back feed in cleaner" and needle often can loosen up, at that point it will most likely be the ball, which of course is easier to free from the backside of the port but try that first before disassembly.

Like others have said the port to screw on the cans needs to be turned clockwise to loosen. Maybe his is a older version so it's counter clockwise to loosen, and his is made out of metal. Mine maybe a newer version, it was made out of plastic so it was easily to break.
In my opinion I wouldn't risk breaking it by taking it apart unless your positive it's completely clogged. I would soak it in foam cleaner first to try and clear it. After I broke mine, I dissected it and only the top port was partially clogged. So I tried to take it apart for no reason.
Learn from my mistake! Use foam cleaner first, these weren't designed to be taken apart easily so breaking it is a good possibility

The can adapter is reverse threaded. You turn clockwise to remove it.

just so you know. Once a hilti gun is left without a can attached for several days it is toast - this, according to Hilti consumer rep. And there are no replacement parts. or ways to repair it.

    • @daddy-odestiny301
      @daddy-odestiny301 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

That's what my rep told me as well but the video shows that you can disassemble it. Rather than spend $100 +/- on a new gun I'll risk damaging it on the off chance I can fix it. If they are unfixable Hilti should give us guns for using their foam.

I used the Hilti one time with Dow great stuff. I left the bottle on, but about two weeks later it wasn't coming out much. I put a great stuff cleaner and it eventually sprayed clean. Then I put the foam bottle back on. When I tried a new bottle a week later it was coming out really slow again an not really expanding or curing. I tried to rinse with cleaner but it just kept pumping gunk and finally nothing came out at all. What am I doing wrong?

В видео не правильно снимает "барашек". Сначала снимается ручка, а потом "барашек"
