Many indians think non vegetarian foods came to India upon arrival of Islamic rulers in this country but they will be proven wrong if they go out villages of Bengal, orissa or Assam where many green vegetables are prepared with small fishes or mixed with prawns total indigenous preparations some are without onion garlic...like Loki with prawns ( lau Chingari).

Harish Sir: Please try Fish Kobiraji from Mitra Cafe. This is something that you get in Kolkata only. I am not sure if CR Park in Delhi serves Fish Kobiraji but one from Mitra Cafe is unique. Mitra Cafe is in Central Kolkata on Cittaranjan Avenue near Shovabazar Metro Station. Taxi or Uber should be able to take you there. Better still ride the Metro to Shovabazar and once you are out in the open ask any passerby and he/she will be able to show you. Hope you like it!

The certainty has a very interesting mix of influences. British, Chinese, Mughali and of course Bengali. Very diverse food experience indeed. But I wish the city did more to keep the streets clean and enforce some hygiene standards. This is holding back the city and state to a great extent. I hope the government realizes this and does something about it.

Harish Ji, again a great episode from Kolkata.... for your information (I hope you know) the Chinese food which we get in Kolkata, they are not authentic Chinese food, actually they are Indo-Chinese cuisine. Once I went China (Qingdao) for some official trip, I searched those foods which we get in Kolkata/India, unfortunately none of the items I found there... anyhow enjoy Indo-Chinese food, they are really good. Real Chinese foods are different in taste.

Good choices in this episode, though I have always felt that Territi Bazar and China Town are overrated. People go there for reasons other than quality. But both are very popular without doubt.

Because Authentic Chinese dishes are available there which are having more blunt taste and is not suited to Indian spicy test. Only go there to try authentic Chinese food and get more insight about Chinese community history who settled long back in Kolkata and called it there home. BTW Momo is not a Chinese dish which most people try there.

When is the main event happening. Kolkata biryani tour. I think you need to dedicate 2 episode to cover it. It will blow your mind like never before and break some existing notion you might have regarding the biryani

ONE THING THAT STANDS OUT GLARINGLY IS THE FACT THAT THE VENDORS IN BIZ. FOR DECADES(old timers), QUALITY & PRICING BOTH ARE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. EX.:: THE CHICKEN STEW, 70/-, TEA, 6/- (which elsewhere would cost min.20/-). IN CONTRAST NEWER VENDORS ARE FOUND TO BE MORE INCLINED TOWARDS PROFITEERING THAN QUALITY ( which too is usually @ a premium). ONCE AGAIN EMPHASISED; OLD WILL ALWAYS BE GOLD.

Sir try to visit Park Street(BBQ for Chinese,Peter Cat for chello kebab and flurys for pastries) , Denmark Tavern (at sreerampore) mainly for the ambience.

Flury's is not original anymore. They make imitation copies of the original & don't taste like it was. Those pastries would cost 200 R a piece if not more. It must be because of Monginis unlike flury's all their pastries taste the same.
