Street food: After this we went to have street food in the night at a market near Ram mandir, this place is about 200 meter from ram mandir - every day between 7 pm to 10 pm, you will find about 20 to 30 street food stalls at this place.

The temple architecture in Odisha is simply awesome!! Just to think how they would have managed to accomplish such a complex, and yet beautiful, task so many centuries ago is simply mind-boggling. After seeing these places and listening to the historical background it seems almost a shame that the only history we were taught growing up was Mughal history.

I don't know the history but there are lots of similarities between Odhisa and Assam, even the language and accent is also similar. Therefore, people from both places feel at home.

Breakfast was awesome....I been to odisha, but didn't had this much information so only went to jaganath puri temple, chilka lake, beaches, konark temple, nandan kanan zoo, shanti stupa and shiv mandir. Had our normal food and missed all their delicacy like dalma and sweets....kaash apka channel pehley ayya hota.

That's a really great video. I was born and brought up in this area near Lingaraj temple.
There are many ancient temples nearby Lingaraj temple that was built from the 6th century AD to the 12th century AD. Earlier temples were not that grand like the Lingaraj & Jagannath temple but you can see the evolution of Kalinga temple architecture. But they are not well researched or documented.
The area is known as Old Town / Old Bhubaneswar or Ekamra Kshetra (which was a holy place in Shaivism as per some Puranas like Ekamra Purana) so thousands of Shiva temple was built here from the 6th century AD to the 12th. But once Vaishnavism became popular in Odisha after the 12th Century AD with the rise of Jagannath cult, slowly this place became neglected untill recently when Bhubaneswar replaced Cuttack as the capital city of Odisha.
Parshurameswar Temple, Mukteshwar Temple located nearby has the finest Hindu/Kalingan architecture even though not so big in size nor so popular among devotees.
Also, a major beautification work (with Parks, painting, overall better infra etc) was done around the temples during the lockdown by the Odisha government.
I have also made lots of vlogs on Bhubaneswar, but your way of exploring is just awesome.

U will be amazed at the range of varieties of authentic odia household dishes that could be made from huge range of vegetables. & pancakes/pithas mainly made from rice flour as the chief ingredient. Which u will not find in restaurants but only in households.

@@madhu6462 i have been to puri and visited bhubaneswar also to visit lingaraja swami..unfortunately i have not eaten the whole meal of mahaprasad but only tasted the snacks in mahaprasad like pitha and khaja..the mahaprasad is really divine and the greatest and there's no comparison to it.. but sorry to say whatever normal meal we took throughout the day had this same smell of star anise or may be panch futan masala.. starting from breakfast kachori sabji to fish gravy, mixed vegetables.. everything had less pepper, sweet kinda and had this same flavour..

i ordered few food items extra... that is not part of one thali.... i mentioned about it on screen...... if you notice before the thali came i mentioned about it..... also other thing - i mentioned rates for those items which are not part of thali.....

Yes, usually in odiya households, for lunch at least 5 - 6 items are prepared apart from dal and rice. The new generation doesn't eat so much, but the older generation, yes... They need a complete thali at lunch.
