the absolute BEST THING you can do for your car is get a set of summer tires, then get a set of winter tires. aggressive winter tires are AWESOME! even if you have a 2 wheel drive car. they will get through ANYTHING
I live in Montreal, drive a stick hatch w winter tires 16" and it's ok, taking my time. Wouldn't dream of using the stock 18" tires. The conditions I experience is more intense than what this video shows
Yeah. Winter is the worst season for our car. Because there's always salt on the road and the white color will show even the slightest speck of dirt. Love the color but keeping the car clean is hard. Lol
Dunno what kinda tires you have but , in Montreal u need good winter tires and I put studs on my Honda. And there is no problems whatsoever in the snow or blizzards.
I likely have the most pampered 2020 Civic Sport in Va. Garage kept, not driven in the rain, seat covers etc, lol (I kept my 2008 EX). Not that we get much snow in s.e. Va, but the 20 won't be out in it! BTW, I grew up in Montgomery co (24 yrs), I remember all that snow.
bro what winter tire do you recommend? i got 2021 civic ex hatch. and i dont wanna spend to much for winter tires. do i have to tho? or i can use the stock tires
Stock tires definitely wouldn’t be recommended although you “could”. I’ve seen comments on reddit saying the General Altimax Arctic is a good budget tire.
That is very little snow fall maybe an inch or 1.5 inches. Try coming to upstate New York, like Syracuse, Buffalo, Albany, and Watertown where overnight could have 4 to 8 inches. Have snowbanks of 4 to 6 feet, and large stores or Walmart parking lots have 10-foot high mounds of snow. What you are telling everyone, who drives a small and lightweight car to get Snow Tires or the fact Honda Civic sucks driving in the snow with All-Season tires. What hill? you are driving at an incline of 4 to 5 degrees and slipping big time on less than 2 inches of snow. Hills here have an incline of 25 to 40 degrees meaning you would never get up the hill with a Civic. Appreciate the video, most just show driving in Florida, Texas or in California where there is no snow unless up on Mt. Shasta.
@@brysonw1815 I just got the 22 Sport a month ago. When it snowed, I left it in the garage because I was nervous with the tires it came with. Are they okay in the snow?
Hi l just got my honda civic 2018 and I’m a first time driver. Do I need to change my tire in winter? Or it is okay to use the regular tire that I’m using this summer?
Depends how bad it gets in your area during winter.. Also You probably already have all seasons equipped and those work fine for me.. But winter tires will always work best during the winter season.
What about uphill with 4 inches of snow? I tried 2nd gear at 2000rpm with all season tires. 1st gear would spin the tires with no traction. Maybe start at lower revs???

What tires are you using and how many miles on them
Will it get through 3 foot snow drifts?
@@jjsrt8 can most cars or even suvs? no. and what would be the point of doing that....but i guess with enough speed, yes...yes it can LOL!!
Yee first u gotta get threw the snow
i just turn traction control off, and control the throttle with "L" gear ;) works very well.

From the few times that I've been in Montreal I know what you mean, it gets pretty bad in Montreal with all the snow.
well i came here to say it couldnt get traction for a single second in this colorado snow and ice storm LOL
Our car is very good on the snow 🔥🔥🔥 I love it.The only thing that it get dirty fast I love keeping my car clean at all time

Your very pretty 🎉
yo I have the same civic but damn those noises coming from the wiper blades gives me goosebumps.
It's all about the tires
Bought mine 3 weeks ago and live on the other side of the state from you. Thanks for this video I was curious myself.
No problem man. I live in the Philly area so we don't get as much snow. But still, the car handled surprisingly well in snow and ice.

I’ll never complain again about the AZ heat. That’s miserable
Haha. Trust me, it's only the beginning. 🥶🥶🥶
I love snow, but I’m lucky to live in California.
Can you tell me what you think about how the braking feels on the civic especially on the snowy and icy road? Thanks.
Brakes were great. Just don't slam on them. Lol
Just be gentle and the car should do just fine in the snow/ ice.
How much would having chains on the tires help to prevent slipping?
I have a 2020 sport civic 4 door 2.0L CVT . I live in Pa also Blair county . I live on the side of a hill no trouble in the snow .

One of my biggest concerns. Just bought one of these and I live in western PA. Kinda very nervous 😆
He’ll nah you’ll be fine, my 17 accord was dmsn good in the snow with 19s… I just bought a 22 civic sport; just turn off your TC and your good to go

will you let me know when you find some good window visors? I cant find em anywhere!
Of Course!

@@chris_timefk8 ok thank you!
Your wipers are bothering me with them not clearing the windshield off.
Yeah same. I stopped to clear the ice off them but it just kept icing back up 😅

Spinning tires at 2000 rpm is exactly the OPPOSITE of how to drive in snow, especially with all season tires. For God's sake, man...
Maybe get 4 snow tires and then accelerate gradually and smoothly and yes, slowly.
Nice car in the hood lol
#winter tires
See if you can make a video driving in snow on the highway.
Great idea!
Your wipers clear the view then make the view worse right after
Yeah. There was a bit of ice that developed under the wiper. I had to stop and clear it off because it was getting worse. That's winter for you. Lol
Come on man. No cold start 😔
I forgot to sneak that in the video.
I'll put it in part 2. Thanks Lol
@@chris_timefk8 yeah man for sure. I'll definitely be looking forward to that
