as a person who owns everything from the season shop to chapter 1 season 8 i think they should not bring everything back. you have a very interesting opinion tho.
As someone who 100%'d every battle pass since the very first season 3, just bring them back at this point. The people gatekeeping them are just using "sweat skins" anyways while the skins people would want are just collecting dust.
The most irritating part is that many collabs are locked behind battle passes that already are gone. I believe old collab skins in battle passes should come back.
Honestly Fortnite just needs to make a skin that displays your join date, and then they could just re-release old skins without anybody being excluded. This would also be a cool way for people who played in the older seasons but never got any skins, to show off as well.
There seems to be a lot of misconceptions on what "Exclusive" means and whether you can sue Epic Games. No, you can't sue Epic Games for reselling old exclusive skins. We all signed the TOS to play Fortnite, which gives Epic the right to change and alter whatever they deem necessary for whatever reason, whenever. Based on the contract we signed, we technically don't own anything. We don't own the game, we don't own the battlepass, we don't own skins. Epic is simply licensing it to us, which is why they can either revoke that license, or alter the licensing agreement. If you don't like your contract and licensing agreement with Epic, then you can simply stop playing. And the word "Exclusive" doesn't always mean what you would think it means. When a commercial for a movie says "Exclusively only in theatres", does that mean the movie is never coming to DVD and streaming, no. Other companies like Lego often say, "Minifigure exclusive to set", does that mean the minifigure will never come to another set, more often than not it will appear in another set eventually. Companies use the word "Exclusive" so much now so loosely in a lot of advertisements, trying to sue Epic over so-called "exclusive" skins would most likely not go anywhere.

I agree 100%, there were MULTIPLE battle passes that I missed out on or were too busy to complete because I had school and or I was moving at the time. And it's really frustrating that I can't ever be able to get and or complete any of those battle passes ever again.
EXACTLY this. I don't see the harm in Epic simply giving people access to tiers they missed out on (at least in some form), considering it'd be for people who already owned the passes and played the season back in the day. It was EXTREMELY hard to get Black Knight in Season 2, and I wish I'd had the money to buy tiers back then

As someone who took a fat break from Fortnite to focus on school from like December to the June of last year nothing hurts more seeing a fire skin in some gameplay and finding out it’s locked at lvl 180 on a battle pass you had no idea existed the pros of bringing back BPs out weight any cons (basically non issues tbh)
Yeah. I slowed down massively on Fortnite after C1S7, completely skipping the S8 & S9 passes, and not being able to fully complete SX (which made me kind of come back because I thought it was gonna be the last season if not a big deal) then barely played C2 at all, uninstalling then coming back in C3S3 so I missed out on years of passes Not to mention I started as a free player in C1S4 and was literally one level away from Orange Justice before the season ended :(

the "OGs" may see it as a threat to their old battle pass skins having the "rare" status and will do everything to keep the old battle passes from ever coming back so they can keep rare

yeah dude i agree with you at times i swear he doesn't make any sense, and he thinks the game should go this way when in reality it should go the other way.And also i played fortnite for a long time i didn't know much of fortnite back in 2018, a friend introduce me to the game and i didn't know how to get skins or buy the battle pass back then.And fortnite isn't good anymore with everything, like the game taking itself serious, remove rarity, collab locked behind battle passes.

What if the system was where once you complete the current battle pass, you get the opportunity to pay for any one of the old battle passes and level up with that until the season ends. Once the season ends though, if you haven't completed that second pass, you have to level up the new current battle pass to lvl 200, and then you can pay again to continue where you left off.

I hate FOMO so goddamn much, yet every corporation and their lawyers are abusing it to squeeze as much money out of anxious people like me. Also, there have been times when I have taken super long extended breaks from Fortnite, and I come back and see a player with a super cool skin, and I learn that it was from a battle pass that was in a season during my break and I just cannot get it because I wanted to play a different game. I’d gladly fork over money to Epic just to get a skin from an earlier season.

They should make it to where the shop has an additional tab where you can use v-bucks to buy styles you didn't get during that season, I never got the final stage of Omega and its so annoying that I'll probably never be able to have him completed 😭😭 But like people in the comments said there's no real downside to adding old battle pass stuff other than the 4 people that'll whine about it 🤷♂️ It benefits Epic because more money, and it benefits the players because they'll finally have the skin they've been wanting!
I earned the Omega stage 5 style, and honestly I don't care if Omega owners got another shot at earning them. I mean, literally the next season they changed the system to allow people to earn the styles outside of the season, so they clearly didn't like how they originally had it work. I do not see what the harm is in having this stuff be earnable again
@89carti I have every single overtime style ever, and I would not care if the overtime quests were always active for anyone who doesn't have the styles yet (like how tier 100 quests used to work). I never use them and don't think anyone would or should care if this change was implemented

In both season 8 and 9 they came out right before I was leaving home for a few days and wouldn't get back until after the season ended. For season 8 I got 2 styles and for season 9 I only got 1. I would really love to buy the styles I didn't get and that would fs make me use those skins more. I don't really see why people would complain about this, since they're still not bringing back old battle pass skins back for everyone but rather just letting people who already own the skins buy an edit style you got for free🤷♂️

Personally i think the Fortnite original skins should remain exclusive to give those kids their exclusive pixels. But Collabs should NEVER be locked out of their own fans hands just because they didn't play fortnite during a very specific window.

Multiversus did the battlepasses right. They are pretty much a preorder, you get the items first at a discount. Then when the season is over they get put in the item shop at full price each item

I’m on the newer players side that just started or don’t own the older skins, I think people who ONLY play the game for cosmetics need to go play dress up Roblox games at that point cause most if not all the collab skins and regular original Fortnite skins that people missed out on shouldn’t be locked behind some limited time bs pass. I own everything except s1 items with mako being an exception but nevertheless these items HAVE to come back.
@@FatalDyZr and tbf there are roblox cosmetics that have an actual value because some of them can be traded or sold for ingame currency, so most likely roblox wont bring back these items for sale because some people spends a lot of money if they are just lazy to trade to get the expensive items
As someone who has every single battle pass, I say yes. I agree with you. I hate people who goes like “But I had it OG”, they only like the old skins bcuz they r are rare, not bcuz they actually like it. I have Black Knight and i think it’s mid. But hey if someone likes it I say yes, make it available for everyone.

It nice to see a content creator who isn’t just saying what Fortnite wants to hear despite knowing that’s the game is in shambles atm. I feel like Fortnite has stopped becoming a game and just a platform for to attract stakeholders. The whole game feels like it’s been stripped of its personality and feels very corporate. The biggest problems are the different game modes, item shops, Ui and the battle passes. The game modes are effecting the quality of the shops and the game on general. I dont know why they felt the need to add Lego to Fortnite when Lego worlds exists. There’s no point on reselling a locked battle pass collab skin if you’re never going to release the skin (Spider-Man). Fortnite has thousands of skins yet they choose to recycle the same 30 skins or 4 collabs every month simply because the other skins don’t have Lego styles. They are getting alot more greedy. Let’s be honest we all know the rarities were removed because of pricing. I hate that they are now putting base styles of items in the bonus section, this make it so you have to get to level 140 to complete the base battle pass. The super styles are plain trash. I have no idea why the old mythics aren’t back. And with the battle pass, let’s say someone in 5 years time who is a massive fan of the character storm, turns 15. They will be devastated that they can’t get the storm skin due to them BEING 6 YEARS OLD !!!. Epic needs to bring back old battle passes. There is so much wrong with the game right now that I doesn’t even feel like Fortnite sometimes. They need new management… Also klarque Clint needs to stop glazing Fortnite and hop off it. I don’t think their age has anything to do with it. It’s the fact that the skin would be locked behind a 9 year old battle pass. Also, who would only start playing Fortnite at 15? I started at 9 years old.

My main problem is me who is obsessed with Spider-Man can’t ever get it and some people who don’t care about spidey have him and never use him. I think the marketplace idea or trading is the best solution. The skins themselves never lose rarity and people who have old battle pass skins they don’t want can trade them for skins they do want.

Personally, if I was an executive at Epic, I'd have incorporated Halo Infinite's BP purchase system the week after Halo Infinite released. Maybe hire somebody to modify/rewrite the challenges so that instead of having to open 7 chests at Risky Reels, you have to open 7 chests at Reckless Railways in a single match. For the lore challenges/quests, just automatically reward them on a weekly basis instead of remaking the special assets that would be necessary. I am 90% sure that an overwhelming majority of those who bought a battle pass from more than 3 years ago don't even play the game enough to notice if old BPs were put back up for sale.
There's plenty of BP's I've missed out on, on other games. If you weren't there at the time then you just missed out. If they sell a variant of the skin in the shop or remix the skin then fair enough. The point of a BP should always be that you need to grind to get the cool skins, if they're just gonna bring them back it cheapens it. Sure it's "just a skin" but these skins are only considered cool because they're no longer around anymore. I missed out on getting the Peter Griffin skin but I'd never want them to bring it back. Besides if they re-release BP's a lot of players are just going to have a boring time because they have those skins already. I'll be so pissed if they allow others to have the purple skull trooper.
I miss the old battle passes with original skins not just collab skins. I do think COLLAB battle pass things should come to the iteam shops. I liked that Iron Man mark 78 came to the iteam shop.
I have an idea. Just like how Festival, and Lego have their own battlepasses, make it possible for people to obtain older passes through Fortnite Reload, and only reload; like you are reloading a previous save a long time ago. The pass needs to be chosen, and can be from any season, but youre only allowed to complete one at a time, so if you want some other battlepass items from a other season, you have to buy another pass. This will make Epic a lot of money, and make newer players happy, possibly even older players too, that have yet to complete their older passes, myself included. I started playing in season 5, chapter 1, and I am not against making it possible for the new playerbase to get a little something from the past.

I joined Fortnite with Chapter 5 season 2 so I joined recently I am incredibly sad I missed out on season 1 with Hope Because of Season 3 I got to love her She’s one of my faves Like yeah I have Heroic Hope But Original Hope design is so cool especially her emote
One thing they could do is, if you had bought the battle pass when it was out, you can unlock those skins whenever you want, but if there is a bonus section for the battle pass, you cannot get it after the timer ends.
It’s kinda silly to think a digital good is comparable to a physical collectible when epic can pump out these older skins back whenever but too afraid that the OG players would get upsetty spaghetti
I can see your point & i understand this argument can go both ways fairly easily. I just think in a world were games have been less special or unique than they used to be, its kind of special to know that certain items are only in the game for a limited time. 0:33 I think it does kind of ruin the concept of a battle pass. Because the whole point of owning a battle pass is that when you get that reward it feels actually rewarding because you worked hard to get that. For example, even though the super styles are re-skins of other styles that we had throughout other chapters, we have to know how much hard work people had to put in to get all those styles and if they sell the super styles in the item shop, I feel like it slapped to the face to all the people that work so hard to get those How do you think people would feel if they brought the omega skin with all of the styles no one would like that none of the OG‘s would like that the people that worked hard to get Omega because to put it simply I can say the same thing about how nobody would like the fact that if it came to battle pass skins, it loses how exclusive the battle pass becomes so honestly, I feel like what you’re saying makes sense to people that haven’t received those battle passes, but I feel like all those people that played that season and started playing that one. Agreed 💯 I, myself, missed out on a LOT of battle passes but I’m totally fine with it; those people put real effort into leveling up and getting every style. It would be nice to be handed those same skins and their styles, but I would feel wrong taking it since I didn’t put any effort into them. Even if I had to complete quests or whatever in order to unlock the older skins, something would feel kind of off about it. I’m not totally sure that I like the idea of battle passes coming back
I wouldn’t really care if it’s anything Chapter 2 and beyond, but just keep the Chapter 1 battle passes the way they are. I may have missed out on emotes like “Take the L” but I have to learn that I will never get those emotes. Honestly, you see nobody wearing the skins from like chapter 4, who gives a fuck if those skins return.
I believe the main issue with bringing back battle passes is 2 things, 1 how they say the items are exclusive to the pass and 2. because of the buying tier system with the time limit being shown on the top of the pass. I personally bought a lot of tiers to finish those older battle passes since I wasn't able to do the challenges before the season ended and the only reason I spent the money on tiers was because I was told these are exclusive. I think if they bring the old passes back they could get in a bunch of legal trouble that just isn't worth it considering they can just recolour or remix the skins in the 'og pass' coming out soon with the og mode and the shop too like they did with frozen renegade raider or magma rust lord.
They should bring old battlepasses back but give the "OG" community extra styles or bonuses so they get to keep their illusion of being special for owning something online and not complain about their return.

I do not agree with bringing battlepasses back, but I do agree that there could be a thing that could let you finish old battle passes that you didnt get the chance to finish, I feel like that would be the best soloution, because it doesent screw with the rarity of said skins, like a good suggestion could be a battlepass recovery, where you could pay like 500 vbucks to activate a battle pass you used to own, because lets say you bought a battle pass and didnt finish it, that sucks, especially the ones i got and rarely even worked on, but fully bringing them back is a diffrent story, people know these skins are exclusive and would hate to see them just pop back up in the store, like I remeber attaining the Omega skin back in chap 1 season 4, it would be cool to give people battle pass recovery options for stuff like that so they could attain the final form (which was hard to get) but I would be a little mad if something as old as Omega came back out, because you could use that skin to hey, "hey I played fortnite and attained this skin back then" I feel like people want the battle pass skins because they are exclusive, so yes it would make some of the community happy, the other half is now pissed
Leveling up battle passes and getting those skins is a big way to keep people playing. If they are just gonna sell skins in the shop later, what would be the point of even making battle passes at that point?
Because with a battle pass you only pay 950 V-Bucks and get the price back, and up until recently it would almost be doubled. And you get a bunch of skins too. The exclusivity isn’t what sells, I guarantee you.

I think they should ONLY bring back the collab skins. Not the others just the collab skins because it really is t fair new players don’t get the skin they wanted if they couldn’t get it at the time (as someone who has all battle passes up to season X)

I think you should at least be able to work on old battle passes that you didn’t finish. There are skins and styles I didn’t care for at the time that I now look back on I love them and they would be main skins to me if I had them, and I had the battle passes, and I liked them, but I hated the season so I couldn’t bring myself to play enough of it, like season X for example. It had an amazing battle pass to me, but the season was a little bland and full of mechs, so I didn’t play it much and I really regret that now

if fortnite bring back battle passes, than people lose a huge reason to play in a particular season which is grinding and for some reasons companies want to add more grinding to a game
exactly playing for the current battle pass during that time period is the main reason a lot of people log on and play, so if they get rid of the exclusivity of grinding the pass and getting the items it’s gonna hurt the company and player count significantly by making and having people not care anymore if they’re just gonna end up bringing the items back
Not exactly true. Battlepass skins are free since you get the vbucks back through the pass. When the skins are in the shop they will be around $20 each. Thats over $100 if you wait to get the pass skins in shop vs free if you grind.
I did the math. Average Battle Pass skin is Epic so I'll use that for all but T100 and Secret who I'll use as Legendary rarity. For skins alone, you are looking at about 13,000 vbucks for all skins in 1 pass, not to mention average glider being 1,200 v bucks. Times that by 8 and you get 9,600 v bucks in glider. Average Pass emote is 500 v bucks. Every skin has an emote which gives us about 4,000 v bucks. Pickaxe is about 1,200 each. x 8 and you get 9,600 again. All of this, not including backblings, is 32,600 vbucks. This does not account for sprays, wraps, emoticons, wallpapers and banners. This equates to exactly $200 or £150. Or you can just spend $10 and get it all and your money back for playing the game

The thing with battle passes is that there’s always a crapton of collab skins, and the next season would start before or after you’d be bored of the current season, but by then you’d already put in enough time to grind out the battle pass because there’s bound to be a skin of someone you like due to the many collabs, which also explains why Fortnite isn’t dead.
I've always seen battle pass exclusivity as a "you snooze you lose" deal but if someone pays for the whole pass they should still be allowed to unlock stuff after the season ends. They paid for it.
I don’t understand why people get so pissy at the concept of bringing back old passes. Or at the very least old collabs that were in the passes. Like. It doesn’t take ANYTHING away from you to allow newer players, or players who COULDN’T get the old cosmetics. It doesn’t harm you, like at all.

Some people like rarity and to flaunt them around. While I understand this mind set, I do feel it hurts others who missed out. I do think there's a middle ground for both groups though. Release old battle passes, but don't include the bonus styles. This way players who missed those passes get a chance at them, while the older players still have something rare.

The biggest thing is Collabs. I don’t think anyone would be mad if Collab Skins came to the shop. I missed out on OG Deadpool and I have no way to get him other than buying an account, something that epic really doesn’t like

I think that if you had bought a battle pass and didn’t finish it in time, after the season ends, you can still have a choice to re-activate it whenever they need with v-bucks, it gives people a chance if they know they don’t have time to play, just to buy the battle pass and later re buy it to complete it, wishing upon this as omega is my favourite skin in the game and I got to their 70 as I had school and a time limit to play on my computer, and before I knew it the season was over…

Great video I don’t know if you agree but you should make a video about account merging that they should bring it back because not a lot of creators talk about it I know tons of people including myself that have 2 accounts because of getting hacked or playing on mobile and then switching to ps5 or something like that and not being able to merge accounts I know they did have the feature for a couple months I think idk because I was on a break so I didn’t even know at that time or I would have merged my accounts just sucks that I have to switch accounts every time I want to play with a skin that I don’t have on one account
I have an example of someone who has earned all these battle passes and stuff like that. My friend has been playing for a long time at this point and there's a skin that he loved from chapter 2 season 1. But his account got hacked and when he tried to regain control of the account, he couldn't and was forced to make a new account. Even after sending a ticket to Epic and even proving that the account was his, they still refused to settle the issue. Instead deciding to leave the account locked. So now he's lost hundreds of dollars of not only battle pass skins and otherwise, he is unable to regain most of the stuff that he had before because he's now on a new account. So the "oh you weren't playing well too bad" argument doesn't work for him because he WAS playing during that time frame. It's not his fault his account was hacked and locked. Oh and if somebody tries to make the argument, "Well that's their fault for getting hacked". That's the same as the cancer patient situation. "Oh you got cancer? Oh well, should've done more to prevent it"
I honestly fully agree with bringing back ALL old battle passes, I have been playing the game since the very beginning and have seen literally everything transpire after all these years, honestly locking old skins behind in some season makes Epic literally zero money and there is no point because that Renegade Raider or Black Knight, sure it may lose it's artifical scarcity but at least then it wouldn't just be collecting dust and be doing absolutely nothing for Epic, it would make them more money if that's really what they care about. Epic Games makes the rules at the end of the day, you literally sign away your right to sue them btw when you agree to the TOS but no one wants to read that ;( no fortnite kids or much less grown ass men will sue over their little battle pass skins coming back and not like they have the balls, patience or resources to actually deal with the hassles, stress, time and financial expenses of a legitimate lawsuit, they will cry, cope, and seethe for a bit then keep playing the game and spend money on it all the same.

Now I'm not a legal expert but my guess is if someone tried to sue epic over this either a judge would throw the case out (because it would be dumb to deal with it) or as you said TOS exists and people just do not read it.

Legit thinking about starting a TH-cam commentary channel just so I can start vocalizing how important this issue is, and that issue being the community and how everyone is sometimes treated poorly based all on cosmetics and what season you started. It shouldn’t matter and exclusivity as a whole is what is gonna destroy this game in the long run considering how entitled most people have become ever since certain skins got a “og” variant but really what it does is give these players bragging rights to put others down because they spent $12 back in 2017 and it’s sad asl. And I urge everyone to vocalize this issue so we can finally have this implemented into their new battlepass system.
Epic can just slide on the TOS something like "battle passes are not exclusive to the season, this includes every battle pass before and after this agreement" and since you have to sing it to play the game, they don't have legal ground

I walk by Season 2 skins all the time and do not care. I just want another change to buy/earn the tiers I missed out on. I mean, I literally played Season 2. I just didn't have the time or money to buy tiers before the season ended.

No, again this WHOLE issue started because certain skins and items that people love are locked behind a limited time pass and the people that do have “og” skins don’t have any reason to want them back that’s their only argument but in the same breathe they put down others based on account rarity, I think the only type of exclusives that should exist in the game is the bundled exclusives that required a real life purchase like ikonik and galaxy.

as a competitive player who's been playing for years, i don't see this as a bad thing, a good thing for me really. i don't have any of the older battle passes because i didn't play half of chapter 2 and all of chapter 4 but i would love to see them returning. and playing from season 3 chapter 1 i didn't complete it. so brining all of the battle pass skins into the item shop would be a blessing.
Like, super styles only exist for the level up grind. It would make sense for them to be the only reward that doesn't go into the item shop. It means FN fans can still have proof they got the OG BP skin, and it still encourages players to grind the current BP. I mean, the fact that they'll probably charge the usual skin price for the skins added in the item shop is already a big incentive. Getting skins for only 1000 vbucks is massive. Comparing that, to the 2500 they'll probably charge for the whole bundle.
They need to slow down and push seasons back so they don’t have to rush one out by a certain deadline. They have so much more to worry about like rocket racing, Lego, and jamfest. They are trying to add everything when they have such little time. They are rushing to get things out to make more money just to not invest it in the game.

Season 4 player, and I completely agree with the title of this video. I am aware of what Epic has done, and I do not have the time to completely watch this video at the moment, but I would LOVE to see the old battlepasses come back, and maybe those that had styles just don't include extra styles or something, etc
I’ve thought on this quite a bit and honestly, I believe that they should bring back all the old battle pass items but an idea to satisfy both people who want it and people who want to keep the rarity is simply have the bonus styles of skins such as Omegas different colored lights be exclusive to those people, while allowing people to still obtain nearly all the styles except for the bonus ones. Considering every battle pass has had some form of bonus styles, it would mean that they wouldn’t have to make new styles for every skin, while allowing people to keep “rare” aspects of the skins and also letting people who couldn’t get it still get to have the main aspects of the skins. Overall this seems like the best route considering how simple it is while still likely being able to satisfy most people. Only downside i see with this route is just that people who didn’t get those bonus styles don’t have those exclusive versions even if they did have it og.
Just bring back those battlepass skins but don't bring the super styles so atleast the OG's have something to brag about and Epic doesn't have to make something new for them
I think bringing battlepasses is a great idea and even for the people who wanna gatekeep skins fortnite probably wouldn't bring back super styles or maybe even the bonus styles so you would still have your og skin with something that would tell others "I had it OG!"
I honestly think that the writing is on the walls and that battle passes returning is an inevitability, mini pass items have been returning since it started with the most wanted event, battlepass's starting from this season on returning, epic sending out surveys on old items returning, ect, and at the end of the day, it will be a good thing, epic gets more money and people have more reasons to give epic set money, of course, epic is a company, but with how epics popularity is wavering, in order to keep the popularity of the game up as it begins to shift to full metaverse, i believe they are going to release these items and gain a huge boost along side the new things, my deadline for these items returning is sometime next year, or if chapter 2 og/chapter 6 turns out to be horrible
Epic read this: Make it so you can at least choose to work on any battle pass you purchased but didn’t max out up to level 100. You paid for it just like everyone else. You could swap between them in the lobby and any xp earned would go to the battle pass you have equipped(must have been purchased during the season).
in my opinion, i think battlepass skins should TOTALLY come back. BUT without having the superlevels. this gives people who bought the pass to show off theyre og, with everyone being able to get the normal skin.
As someone who has completed each Chapter 1 battle pass besides Chapter 1 Season 2 (half-way completed) just bring them back. It doesn't hurt anybody besides the players who get upset about rare cosmetics returning, many who do not even own the items.
I’ve just always been a firm believer in “if ya snooze, ya lose.” If I miss out, that’s okay, but I understand not everyone feels that way. However, while I’m not the biggest fan of bringing back old battle passes, I do think there’s a way to please both parties. If an individual already completed the battle pass, they could get extra styles. And anyone buying it for the first time just gets the basic styles. For example: I played CH2 S4 but didn’t complete the battle pass. I got the She-Hulk, Thor, and Storm skins. If I was able to rebuy it, I think it’d be great if I got new styles for those skins, and then just the basic styles for the ones I didn’t get. Epic has always tried to do their best at pleasing everyone, and I think this would be a decent way to do it.
Epic Games says that it's breaking their ToS to Sell your account to someone else to stop skin trading, but wouldn't they understand that if they stopped making old BP stuff exclusive people would stop selling accounts because then people can buy it off their own account instead of buying one that has those skins?

I’d love for epic to allow old passes to be purchased and toggled on or off. If they just bring skins back to the shop, that’s totally fine. However I’m sure the community would love the idea of getting to grid out their old passes finally.
I think the best way to do this so it's fair for everyone is for example if you played during C1S4 but didn't get the pass back then, you could buy it now and do it in the present day. I think thats the best of both worlds.

Honestly Fortnite just needs to make a skin that displays your join date, and then they could just re-release old skins without anybody being excluded. This would also be a cool way for people who played in the older seasons but never got any skins, to show off as well.
There seems to be a lot of misconceptions on what "Exclusive" means and whether you can sue Epic Games. No, you can't sue Epic Games for reselling old exclusive skins. We all signed the TOS to play Fortnite, which gives Epic the right to change and alter whatever they deem necessary for whatever reason, whenever. Based on the contract we signed, we technically don't own anything. We don't own the game, we don't own the battlepass, we don't own skins. Epic is simply licensing it to us, which is why they can either revoke that license, or alter the licensing agreement. If you don't like your contract and licensing agreement with Epic, then you can simply stop playing. And the word "Exclusive" doesn't always mean what you would think it means. When a commercial for a movie says "Exclusively only in theatres", does that mean the movie is never coming to DVD and streaming, no. Other companies like Lego often say, "Minifigure exclusive to set", does that mean the minifigure will never come to another set, more often than not it will appear in another set eventually. Companies use the word "Exclusive" so much now so loosely in a lot of advertisements, trying to sue Epic over so-called "exclusive" skins would most likely not go anywhere.

I agree 100%, there were MULTIPLE battle passes that I missed out on or were too busy to complete because I had school and or I was moving at the time. And it's really frustrating that I can't ever be able to get and or complete any of those battle passes ever again.

As someone who took a fat break from Fortnite to focus on school from like December to the June of last year nothing hurts more seeing a fire skin in some gameplay and finding out it’s locked at lvl 180 on a battle pass you had no idea existed the pros of bringing back BPs out weight any cons (basically non issues tbh)
Yeah. I slowed down massively on Fortnite after C1S7, completely skipping the S8 & S9 passes, and not being able to fully complete SX (which made me kind of come back because I thought it was gonna be the last season if not a big deal) then barely played C2 at all, uninstalling then coming back in C3S3 so I missed out on years of passes
Not to mention I started as a free player in C1S4 and was literally one level away from Orange Justice before the season ended :(

What if the system was where once you complete the current battle pass, you get the opportunity to pay for any one of the old battle passes and level up with that until the season ends. Once the season ends though, if you haven't completed that second pass, you have to level up the new current battle pass to lvl 200, and then you can pay again to continue where you left off.

I hate FOMO so goddamn much, yet every corporation and their lawyers are abusing it to squeeze as much money out of anxious people like me. Also, there have been times when I have taken super long extended breaks from Fortnite, and I come back and see a player with a super cool skin, and I learn that it was from a battle pass that was in a season during my break and I just cannot get it because I wanted to play a different game. I’d gladly fork over money to Epic just to get a skin from an earlier season.

I earned the Omega stage 5 style, and honestly I don't care if Omega owners got another shot at earning them. I mean, literally the next season they changed the system to allow people to earn the styles outside of the season, so they clearly didn't like how they originally had it work. I do not see what the harm is in having this stuff be earnable again

@89carti I have every single overtime style ever, and I would not care if the overtime quests were always active for anyone who doesn't have the styles yet (like how tier 100 quests used to work). I never use them and don't think anyone would or should care if this change was implemented

In both season 8 and 9 they came out right before I was leaving home for a few days and wouldn't get back until after the season ended. For season 8 I got 2 styles and for season 9 I only got 1. I would really love to buy the styles I didn't get and that would fs make me use those skins more. I don't really see why people would complain about this, since they're still not bringing back old battle pass skins back for everyone but rather just letting people who already own the skins buy an edit style you got for free🤷♂️

Multiversus did the battlepasses right. They are pretty much a preorder, you get the items first at a discount. Then when the season is over they get put in the item shop at full price each item
That is usually how battlepasses in other game works
Klarque definitively has a really bad take about battle passes, especially his point about why people buy them, with that reason being fomo, argument that genuinely has zero validity now with the new battle pass that no longer has exclusivity anymore and despite that I still si lobbies full of Doctor doom, gwen pool, ema frost, war machine, etc etc etc.
As someone with every skin on my account I already wanted I couldn't care less about exclusivity, people should be able to get what they want in (aside of roblox and minecraft) the most popular game in the world, especially for how important collabs are to fortnite at this point

I’m on the newer players side that just started or don’t own the older skins, I think people who ONLY play the game for cosmetics need to go play dress up Roblox games at that point cause most if not all the collab skins and regular original Fortnite skins that people missed out on shouldn’t be locked behind some limited time bs pass. I own everything except s1 items with mako being an exception but nevertheless these items HAVE to come back.

As someone who has every single battle pass, I say yes. I agree with you. I hate people who goes like “But I had it OG”, they only like the old skins bcuz they r are rare, not bcuz they actually like it. I have Black Knight and i think it’s mid. But hey if someone likes it I say yes, make it available for everyone.

It nice to see a content creator who isn’t just saying what Fortnite wants to hear despite knowing that’s the game is in shambles atm. I feel like Fortnite has stopped becoming a game and just a platform for to attract stakeholders. The whole game feels like it’s been stripped of its personality and feels very corporate. The biggest problems are the different game modes, item shops, Ui and the battle passes. The game modes are effecting the quality of the shops and the game on general. I dont know why they felt the need to add Lego to Fortnite when Lego worlds exists. There’s no point on reselling a locked battle pass collab skin if you’re never going to release the skin (Spider-Man). Fortnite has thousands of skins yet they choose to recycle the same 30 skins or 4 collabs every month simply because the other skins don’t have Lego styles. They are getting alot more greedy. Let’s be honest we all know the rarities were removed because of pricing. I hate that they are now putting base styles of items in the bonus section, this make it so you have to get to level 140 to complete the base battle pass. The super styles are plain trash. I have no idea why the old mythics aren’t back. And with the battle pass, let’s say someone in 5 years time who is a massive fan of the character storm, turns 15. They will be devastated that they can’t get the storm skin due to them BEING 6 YEARS OLD !!!. Epic needs to bring back old battle passes. There is so much wrong with the game right now that I doesn’t even feel like Fortnite sometimes. They need new management…

My main problem is me who is obsessed with Spider-Man can’t ever get it and some people who don’t care about spidey have him and never use him. I think the marketplace idea or trading is the best solution. The skins themselves never lose rarity and people who have old battle pass skins they don’t want can trade them for skins they do want.

Personally, if I was an executive at Epic, I'd have incorporated Halo Infinite's BP purchase system the week after Halo Infinite released. Maybe hire somebody to modify/rewrite the challenges so that instead of having to open 7 chests at Risky Reels, you have to open 7 chests at Reckless Railways in a single match. For the lore challenges/quests, just automatically reward them on a weekly basis instead of remaking the special assets that would be necessary.
I am 90% sure that an overwhelming majority of those who bought a battle pass from more than 3 years ago don't even play the game enough to notice if old BPs were put back up for sale.
There's plenty of BP's I've missed out on, on other games. If you weren't there at the time then you just missed out. If they sell a variant of the skin in the shop or remix the skin then fair enough. The point of a BP should always be that you need to grind to get the cool skins, if they're just gonna bring them back it cheapens it. Sure it's "just a skin" but these skins are only considered cool because they're no longer around anymore. I missed out on getting the Peter Griffin skin but I'd never want them to bring it back. Besides if they re-release BP's a lot of players are just going to have a boring time because they have those skins already. I'll be so pissed if they allow others to have the purple skull trooper.

I have an idea.
Just like how Festival, and Lego have their own battlepasses, make it possible for people to obtain older passes through Fortnite Reload, and only reload; like you are reloading a previous save a long time ago.
The pass needs to be chosen, and can be from any season, but youre only allowed to complete one at a time, so if you want some other battlepass items from a other season, you have to buy another pass.
This will make Epic a lot of money, and make newer players happy, possibly even older players too, that have yet to complete their older passes, myself included.
I started playing in season 5, chapter 1, and I am not against making it possible for the new playerbase to get a little something from the past.

One thing they could do is, if you had bought the battle pass when it was out, you can unlock those skins whenever you want, but if there is a bonus section for the battle pass, you cannot get it after the timer ends.

I just think in a world were games have been less special or unique than they used to be, its kind of special to know that certain items are only in the game for a limited time. Because the whole point of owning a battle pass is that when you get that reward it feels actually rewarding because you worked hard to get that. Agreed 💯 I, myself, missed out on a LOT of battle passes but I’m totally fine with it; those people put real effort into leveling up and getting every style. It would be nice to be handed those same skins and their styles, but I would feel wrong taking it since I didn’t put any effort into them. Even if I had to complete quests or whatever in order to unlock the older skins, something would feel kind of off about it. I’m not totally sure that I like the idea of battle passes coming back
I wouldn’t really care if it’s anything Chapter 2 and beyond, but just keep the Chapter 1 battle passes the way they are. I may have missed out on emotes like “Take the L” but I have to learn that I will never get those emotes. Honestly, you see nobody wearing the skins from like chapter 4, who gives a fuck if those skins return.

I believe the main issue with bringing back battle passes is 2 things, 1 how they say the items are exclusive to the pass and 2. because of the buying tier system with the time limit being shown on the top of the pass. I personally bought a lot of tiers to finish those older battle passes since I wasn't able to do the challenges before the season ended and the only reason I spent the money on tiers was because I was told these are exclusive. I think if they bring the old passes back they could get in a bunch of legal trouble that just isn't worth it considering they can just recolour or remix the skins in the 'og pass' coming out soon with the og mode and the shop too like they did with frozen renegade raider or magma rust lord.
They should bring old battlepasses back but give the "OG" community extra styles or bonuses so they get to keep their illusion of being special for owning something online and not complain about their return.

Leveling up battle passes and getting those skins is a big way to keep people playing. If they are just gonna sell skins in the shop later, what would be the point of even making battle passes at that point?

Because with a battle pass you only pay 950 V-Bucks and get the price back, and up until recently it would almost be doubled. And you get a bunch of skins too. The exclusivity isn’t what sells, I guarantee you.

I think you should at least be able to work on old battle passes that you didn’t finish. There are skins and styles I didn’t care for at the time that I now look back on I love them and they would be main skins to me if I had them, and I had the battle passes, and I liked them, but I hated the season so I couldn’t bring myself to play enough of it, like season X for example. It had an amazing battle pass to me, but the season was a little bland and full of mechs, so I didn’t play it much and I really regret that now

exactly playing for the current battle pass during that time period is the main reason a lot of people log on and play, so if they get rid of the exclusivity of grinding the pass and getting the items it’s gonna hurt the company and player count significantly by making and having people not care anymore if they’re just gonna end up bringing the items back
Not exactly true. Battlepass skins are free since you get the vbucks back through the pass. When the skins are in the shop they will be around $20 each. Thats over $100 if you wait to get the pass skins in shop vs free if you grind.
So basically people would care about grinding to save the money.
I did the math. Average Battle Pass skin is Epic so I'll use that for all but T100 and Secret who I'll use as Legendary rarity. For skins alone, you are looking at about 13,000 vbucks for all skins in 1 pass, not to mention average glider being 1,200 v bucks. Times that by 8 and you get 9,600 v bucks in glider. Average Pass emote is 500 v bucks. Every skin has an emote which gives us about 4,000 v bucks. Pickaxe is about 1,200 each. x 8 and you get 9,600 again. All of this, not including backblings, is 32,600 vbucks. This does not account for sprays, wraps, emoticons, wallpapers and banners. This equates to exactly $200 or £150. Or you can just spend $10 and get it all and your money back for playing the game

The thing with battle passes is that there’s always a crapton of collab skins, and the next season would start before or after you’d be bored of the current season, but by then you’d already put in enough time to grind out the battle pass because there’s bound to be a skin of someone you like due to the many collabs, which also explains why Fortnite isn’t dead.
I've always seen battle pass exclusivity as a "you snooze you lose" deal but if someone pays for the whole pass they should still be allowed to unlock stuff after the season ends. They paid for it.

I think that if you had bought a battle pass and didn’t finish it in time, after the season ends, you can still have a choice to re-activate it whenever they need with v-bucks, it gives people a chance if they know they don’t have time to play, just to buy the battle pass and later re buy it to complete it, wishing upon this as omega is my favourite skin in the game and I got to their 70 as I had school and a time limit to play on my computer, and before I knew it the season was over…
The community and the game itself is old enough for a change like old BPs to come back I feel. Not to mention with the metaverse shift.

Great video I don’t know if you agree but you should make a video about account merging that they should bring it back because not a lot of creators talk about it I know tons of people including myself that have 2 accounts because of getting hacked or playing on mobile and then switching to ps5 or something like that and not being able to merge accounts I know they did have the feature for a couple months I think idk because I was on a break so I didn’t even know at that time or I would have merged my accounts just sucks that I have to switch accounts every time I want to play with a skin that I don’t have on one account
I have an example of someone who has earned all these battle passes and stuff like that. My friend has been playing for a long time at this point and there's a skin that he loved from chapter 2 season 1. But his account got hacked and when he tried to regain control of the account, he couldn't and was forced to make a new account. Even after sending a ticket to Epic and even proving that the account was his, they still refused to settle the issue. Instead deciding to leave the account locked.
So now he's lost hundreds of dollars of not only battle pass skins and otherwise, he is unable to regain most of the stuff that he had before because he's now on a new account. So the "oh you weren't playing well too bad" argument doesn't work for him because he WAS playing during that time frame. It's not his fault his account was hacked and locked.
Oh and if somebody tries to make the argument, "Well that's their fault for getting hacked". That's the same as the cancer patient situation. "Oh you got cancer? Oh well, should've done more to prevent it"
I honestly fully agree with bringing back ALL old battle passes, I have been playing the game since the very beginning and have seen literally everything transpire after all these years, honestly locking old skins behind in some season makes Epic literally zero money and there is no point because that Renegade Raider or Black Knight, sure it may lose it's artifical scarcity but at least then it wouldn't just be collecting dust and be doing absolutely nothing for Epic, it would make them more money if that's really what they care about. Epic Games makes the rules at the end of the day, you literally sign away your right to sue them btw when you agree to the TOS but no one wants to read that ;( no fortnite kids or much less grown ass men will sue over their little battle pass skins coming back and not like they have the balls, patience or resources to actually deal with the hassles, stress, time and financial expenses of a legitimate lawsuit, they will cry, cope, and seethe for a bit then keep playing the game and spend money on it all the same.

So saying nobody else deserves to have them just because you want to keep your "exclusivity" and "rarity" is really just... yikes. I have Sparkle Specialist. Would I care if someone who was one tier short in Season 2 got the ability to buy tiers and unlock it again? Absolutely not. I want others to have fun. And you should too.

I think that everything should come back, I like the 18 month exclusivity period, and the original owners receiving new styles, that’s a good way to please both sides

Yeah for sure, reintroduce the skins but add a special badge or icon or effect on the skin or something and it's the best of both worlds.
this, i think gatekeepers only care about the og status and not really care about the skins, maybe they can just make an additional style for every old bp skin that indicates that the skin was obtained on the original release, like an "OG" badge in the skin's chest (idk if i'm explaining myself correctly, i'm not very good at english)
No, again this WHOLE issue started because certain skins and items that people love are locked behind a limited time pass and the people that do have “og” skins don’t have any reason to want them back that’s their only argument but in the same breathe they put down others based on account rarity, I think the only type of exclusives that should exist in the game is the bundled exclusives that required a real life purchase like ikonik and galaxy.

The ones who like the skin's design and want to buy it can get it, and the people who are obsessed with having "rare" and "og" stuff are pleased
as a competitive player who's been playing for years, i don't see this as a bad thing, a good thing for me really. i don't have any of the older battle passes because i didn't play half of chapter 2 and all of chapter 4 but i would love to see them returning. and playing from season 3 chapter 1 i didn't complete it. so brining all of the battle pass skins into the item shop would be a blessing.
I still think they should have the super styles locked behind the BP, and you have to earn the other skin styles via a quest. Maybe just levelling up
Like, super styles only exist for the level up grind. It would make sense for them to be the only reward that doesn't go into the item shop.
It means FN fans can still have proof they got the OG BP skin, and it still encourages players to grind the current BP.
I mean, the fact that they'll probably charge the usual skin price for the skins added in the item shop is already a big incentive. Getting skins for only 1000 vbucks is massive. Comparing that, to the 2500 they'll probably charge for the whole bundle.
Halo infinite system would be perfect, everyone can get the the old skins by grinding the game like older players did

I lost my old s2-s18 account with all max bp, and I really want to play again with some of my favourite skin that are locked in old battle passes
They need to slow down and push seasons back so they don’t have to rush one out by a certain deadline. They have so much more to worry about like rocket racing, Lego, and jamfest. They are trying to add everything when they have such little time. They are rushing to get things out to make more money just to not invest it in the game.
Nooooooo, they need to get rid of all those other modes instead (maybe keep Lego) because everyone just plays them for xp. For the very few that actually enjoy them, it’s not worth their time or resources
At the very very minimum, my mom doesnt always say yes to vbucks, so i missed out on some stuff so i yeah i want it to be like infinite where you can grind for whatever pass you want. OR passes I DID pay for but didnt have time to grind
Season 4 player, and I completely agree with the title of this video. I am aware of what Epic has done, and I do not have the time to completely watch this video at the moment, but I would LOVE to see the old battlepasses come back, and maybe those that had styles just don't include extra styles or something, etc
I’ve thought on this quite a bit and honestly, I believe that they should bring back all the old battle pass items but an idea to satisfy both people who want it and people who want to keep the rarity is simply have the bonus styles of skins such as Omegas different colored lights be exclusive to those people, while allowing people to still obtain nearly all the styles except for the bonus ones. Considering every battle pass has had some form of bonus styles, it would mean that they wouldn’t have to make new styles for every skin, while allowing people to keep “rare” aspects of the skins and also letting people who couldn’t get it still get to have the main aspects of the skins. Overall this seems like the best route considering how simple it is while still likely being able to satisfy most people. Only downside i see with this route is just that people who didn’t get those bonus styles don’t have those exclusive versions even if they did have it og.
Just bring back those battlepass skins but don't bring the super styles so atleast the OG's have something to brag about and Epic doesn't have to make something new for them
I think bringing battlepasses is a great idea and even for the people who wanna gatekeep skins fortnite probably wouldn't bring back super styles or maybe even the bonus styles so you would still have your og skin with something that would tell others "I had it OG!"
I honestly think that the writing is on the walls and that battle passes returning is an inevitability, mini pass items have been returning since it started with the most wanted event, battlepass's starting from this season on returning, epic sending out surveys on old items returning, ect, and at the end of the day, it will be a good thing, epic gets more money and people have more reasons to give epic set money, of course, epic is a company, but with how epics popularity is wavering, in order to keep the popularity of the game up as it begins to shift to full metaverse, i believe they are going to release these items and gain a huge boost along side the new things, my deadline for these items returning is sometime next year, or if chapter 2 og/chapter 6 turns out to be horrible
Epic read this: Make it so you can at least choose to work on any battle pass you purchased but didn’t max out up to level 100. You paid for it just like everyone else. You could swap between them in the lobby and any xp earned would go to the battle pass you have equipped(must have been purchased during the season).
in my opinion, i think battlepass skins should TOTALLY come back. BUT without having the superlevels. this gives people who bought the pass to show off theyre og, with everyone being able to get the normal skin.
As someone who has completed each Chapter 1 battle pass besides Chapter 1 Season 2 (half-way completed) just bring them back. It doesn't hurt anybody besides the players who get upset about rare cosmetics returning, many who do not even own the items.
don't forget that eye patch wolverine is locked behind one month of crew pack. They do say they can comeback, but they never have done so yet.
A function to unlock any previous battle pass but only be able to work on one battle pass at a time would be perfect

I’ve just always been a firm believer in “if ya snooze, ya lose.” If I miss out, that’s okay, but I understand not everyone feels that way. However, while I’m not the biggest fan of bringing back old battle passes, I do think there’s a way to please both parties. If an individual already completed the battle pass, they could get extra styles. And anyone buying it for the first time just gets the basic styles. For example: I played CH2 S4 but didn’t complete the battle pass. I got the She-Hulk, Thor, and Storm skins. If I was able to rebuy it, I think it’d be great if I got new styles for those skins, and then just the basic styles for the ones I didn’t get. Epic has always tried to do their best at pleasing everyone, and I think this would be a decent way to do it.
Epic Games says that it's breaking their ToS to Sell your account to someone else to stop skin trading, but wouldn't they understand that if they stopped making old BP stuff exclusive people would stop selling accounts because then people can buy it off their own account instead of buying one that has those skins?

I’d love for epic to allow old passes to be purchased and toggled on or off.
If they just bring skins back to the shop, that’s totally fine. However I’m sure the community would love the idea of getting to grid out their old passes finally.
I think that people who originally owned the battle passes should get an additional style. Much like how skull trooper did when it was rereleased
I think the best way to do this so it's fair for everyone is for example if you played during C1S4 but didn't get the pass back then, you could buy it now and do it in the present day. I think thats the best of both worlds.
They should do what they did with the scull trooper. When they bring the original skins back, just give the OG buyers a special version of the skin.
