i quit caffeine and every aspect of my life improved. i can list a page of benefits. i can work harder and longer without coffee and i can exercise harder and longer without it. i have better skin, eyes, teeth and hair. i look 15 years younger. ive become like a teenage, tons of energy, on coffee i was a zombie walking around in a hyped up manner. also caffeine affects your reality, the way you see the world, once u quit it's feel like u were drunk before, the clarity is amazing. i disagree with the doctor, try to quit and experiment. you never really get used to the side affects of caffeine. some people are saying their grandparents are alive but they probably look like shit and sit down all day long, quality of life.
they should still be jogging at the age of 90 but theyre not. experiment people.. im 51, but play soccer in a club, swim, jog, go to the gym, mountain climb etc and on coffee i never had the energy

Yes, LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is often referred to as "bad" cholesterol because high levels can lead to a buildup of cholesterol in the arteries. This buildup can contribute to atherosclerosis, a condition where arteries become narrowed and hardened, increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke.
Controlling LDL levels through diet, exercise, and medication when necessary is crucial for heart health. It's equally important to maintain a healthy balance between LDL and HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol, as HDL is considered "good" cholesterol and helps remove LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream.

@@berns23100 I live in Gatlinburg TN and get my beans from “Gatlinburg Grind” a coffee house local to me. It is a “Single Source” bean. They get them from a local (Knoxville, I believe) roaster. I have tried Amazon, but the quality just wasn’t as good. The press from my local vendor is more aromatic and has a delightful complex flavor that the Amazon beans (which came from “Stone Street Coffee Roasters” in NYC) lacked.

Hi RD, I live in Alberta Canada, and was in Nashville a few months ago, I should have been checking out coffee roasters, lol! We have lots of coffee roasters here but I find they all taste the same. I was ordering beans from a roaster in BC, and they had Ethiopian beans that I quite liked but they are no longer in business. I have also bought lots on Amazon, but you never know what you are going to get.

Why not just drink Decaf coffee, which has the same polyphenol health benefits etc, just without the sleep and health disrupting Caffeine.

  • @CandyGirl44

Apparently the roasting process causes the beans to become carcinogenic? I've become so sensitive to caffeine since I developed fibromyalgia, I try a decaf every second day, and have to take double medications in the evening. I miss the energy boost a good espresso used to give me, but will now stay awake the entire night, feeling as if I've taken methamphetamines, despite strong medication, if I slip up and indulge!

I want to like this youtuber. His presentations on polyphenols, olive oils, and other topics, have been helpful to me.
I must say, however, that this presentation is flawed. About halfway through the viewer/listener hears, "Association does not mean causation". This statement is absolutely correct. As a person with training in the area of research, I can say that a research study which attempts to validate results with an "association" should be listed as seriously flawed. Dr. Gundry presents this principle as the basis for his refutation of another person's research and conclusions.
So back track to the opening statements of this presentation and you hear "coffee consumption has been linked to longevity all over the world' (paraphrasing, but this is his statement). THIS is an association linked to "causation". A research study with this association and conclusion should definitely be called "flawed" and could even be called deceptive. Corporations and marketers and lobbyists use this trick all the time. I would be very interested to see sources for this statement, because the advertising guys for Folgers could have come up with something like this. They may even sponsored the study. To decide on the merits of a "research study" you should FIRST check for conflict of interest.
The reason for saying "association is not causation" is that there could be multiple reasons for longevity in countries with high statistics for coffee consumption. What are the other products which these same groups consume at a high rate? Do they also consume the most kale? or cabbage? or...olive oil? Do the people in these groups also have a higher statistic for regular exercise? The high numbers for coffee consumption could be co-incidental. A study even worth mentioning would show management of all variables...including origin of the beans, roasting method, and added ingredients, such as sugar or synthetic creamer. A person who sits there making a general statement concerning the benefits of "coffee" should be questioned. It is not even valid to speak of coffee as "loaded with polyphenols" without qualifications. The large majority of coffee drinkers consume pre-ground coffee. With grinding, the entire bean is exposed to air. A bag of ground coffee might sit on a shelf in a not air tight bag for a month. In this time, all polyphenol content will be lost. Polyphenol content for whole beans varies widely, because various roasting methods have different effects on polyphenol content. I have thought that I should respect this youtuber. After listening to this, I do not.

Hi Dr. Gundry, please give me further information about LP little a , my doctor told me that it’s in my genes ( my LPa is higher) he wants me to take pills to lower it. I was able to keep my blood pressure in the normal range. And I want to stay away from medication . What is your opinion? I am 58 years old female

Statements that include 'may' or 'can' need clarification and quantification, otherwise they may/can just as well be read as 'may not' or 'will not'.
