San Francisco Zoo to get pandas

The San Francisco Zoo is set to receive a pair of giant pandas under a memorandum of understanding signed Thursday by Mayor London Breed and the China Wildlife Conservation Association.

So the Zoo will spend $4 million to upgrade a existing habitat, then fundraise around $21 million for a brand new habitat.

Are you kidding me? There are so many animals right now in danger of extinction and the San Francisco Zoo wants pandas? First of all, Zoos are becoming a thing of the past. Second of all, these pandas should be in an environment much friendlier to them, where they can be free, not in some cage being stared at by people. That's why Safaris are great. You can see the animals IN their natural environment and you have to be respectful towards them.
