I am about to make this quilt with an added border for my newborn granddaughter. I am trying to decide how I want to applique. It will likely be washed pretty often. What method would you suggest?
Hi Heather, yes, there is some waste, but not more than if I cut out all the applique units separately first. The big piece is in my scrap bin and all the tiny ones are with my crumbs. I'll use them. 😄

What is the general rule in thread color selection for needle turn appliqué? Do you try and match top fabrics or bottom fabric?
