This is character development right here. I remember you doing a vid on this on the exact same fight, except with the hp/mp swap materia (so you can pretty much spam limit breaks.) and now you do it without the materia. Bravo for that.

Sadly you have to use Hp-mp swap for limits bc Barret doesn’t have the speed to avoid some unblockable attacks (drain for example). But! the good thing about the run, is that it too is superrrrrrr optimized, and not just a limit spam to win montage 😅
@@RE_Prince_Vegetacool! you thinking of posting it? i’d love to see it. barret is imo one of the coolest characters along with aerith to do no damage runs on, due to their lack of speed. it makes you have to perfect block almost everything and i think that makes it more stylish, to just tank everything without taking damage. also i did cloud vs abzu no damage again, but this time without the hp/mp swap limit break spam. hell, i couldn’t even get the chance to use a limit. but for some reason i can’t post it.
@@pointless7 I totally agree, that’s what makes Aerith and Barret solo runs a little more intriguing to see! (due to their slow movement and even lack of dodge abilities haha). I will upload it next week, I want to start uploading more of my barret stuff 😁 and I’m def looking forward to seeing more of your solo stuff! 😎

The boss has a “drain” attack, that barret literally can’t dodge due to his speed. Red can. Only way to avoid damage from it with Barret is a limit

Never knew you can cast Cure spells onto this boss since I realized they’re undead creatures (thanks to some old FF games)! I never bothered on my first playthrough because I hardly paid attention to the command menu and also wanted to avoid spoilers and solutions early on. 😅
@@Aperez haha it’s a nice little nod to the OG fight! 😁 I think in the OG a single Elixir defeats him! I wonder how well healing items do against him on Normal or Dynamic mode

How hard would it been if you did No Damage with Barrett and Red? I'm guessing 5% you make it through? Otherwise, styling (with little damage taken) would had been fine.
I’ve seen some duo no damage runs of this, it looks fun 😁 it’s def doable, and of course much easier here bc more ATB to use with 2 characters. And you can always add elemental + fire for defense for 2nd phase skulls

@@CCMaria.Icemgic You want to have low HP to make the best use of Red Xiii’s ability “Reaper Touch”. Potency is inversely proportional to current HP. So it’s a high risk, high reward ability to use if Red is at low HP! 😎
@@RE_Prince_Vegetaso with higher HP would crescent claw be a better move for damage? I doubt I'll be able to no damage this but would still like to get as close as possible
@@sb2871 that would be the best for damage, only problem would be you need to be in vengeance mode for this fight, and using crescent claw while in vengeance mode depletes it
