    Gentlemen, 30K UTV's. Wow, some serious sporting and recreational equipment. The tire bonnet straps are awesome. However, we use 8 through the tire straps per vehicle and we tow weekly. Extremes, overkill, I think not. Peace of mind, 100%. In saying that, occasionally we go off-road when towing for several kilometers, sorry miles at a time and we/I personally put a front and rear safety chain on as a last line of defense using axle straps. Total of 10 points of tie down eliminating any possible mishaps or strap failures. Ratchets lubed weekly and straps inspected daily. In saying that, the quality of the straps in this video are some of the best ones I have seen yet. Well worth your money.

    After watching this video, I went to speedstrap and purchased a set of through the wheel straps for my little 2008 Rhino 700 FI Sport Edition. Thanks guys for all the information.

    I have the Speed Strap Ultimate Bonnet kit and I use them to tie down my KRX 1000eS in my Momentum 31G Toy Hauler and on my 8X16ft flat open trailer with railing.
    I am completely satisfied with them as my car does not move after strapping it down with the Speed Straps.

    I'm pretty new to all this and I want to make sure I do it right. I just purchased a RZR Pro XP 4 and went through the owner's manual. Under the Maintenance -> Transporting The Vehicle section, it specifically says to "Always tie the frame of the POLARIS vehicle to the transporting unit....Do not attach tie straps to the front control arm bolt pockets." Then it has pictures showing exactly where to attach the straps.
    Basically, the owner's manual is telling me to do what you're telling me to never do. Initially, I followed the guidance of the owner's manual, and exactly as you guys showed....loose straps after traveling on some rocky terrain. I think I'll end up ordering some bonnet style straps. The conflicting information surrounding this topic is confusing and frustrating, but I think following your suggestions is the right way. I appreciate these videos.

      The tire bonnet is the best way to go. If you don't use them, the best thing to do is tie down as close to the hub/tire as you can. You could hang your UTV from a crane off the ground if it were attached to the A arm near the ball joint or hub. They are incredibly strong. Just think about the loads they see when hitting rocks or whoops at 60 mph. Also braking forces are about 3,000lbs per arm trying to twist the arms off the UTV and they are just fine. Last, I don't care what Polaris or a dealer says, real world experience says NEVER tie to the frame that moves up and down while your towing. The straps may be fine for a while but they will always loosen up and eventually break on you. Hope this helps.

    one thing to watch when using the single over the tire straps: i've had happen where i tied down at a high altitude (9k ft) on a hot day of 90 degrees and drove home at a much lower elevation (1k ft). the tire lost pressure as they cooled and the change in altitude, and due to the low pressures it was already at (12-14psi), the over the tire straps were a little loose when i went to take them off. it probably wouldn't have happened so much if the tires were at 20-25 psi at 9k ft, but since mine were set low to begin with they flattened out as they lost pressure and temperature. definitely going to invest in the bonnets shown here.

    Lasso straps or through the wheel straps should be used on all four wheels and are the best way to go on any trailer, whether it be a flatbed or an enclosed trailer. Tire bonnet straps should also be used on all four wheels. The D-rings or connection points for the bonnet should be located on the floor directly in front and behind of each wheel. This means your connection points have to be located on the floor for the vehicle you are hauling. I have used both the through the wheel and bonnet straps on Utv's, Trophy Trucks, high dollar sports cars and race cars.

    I'm not entirely sold on going through the wheels. Some wheels aren't ideal and will cut through the strap(s). I like tire bonnets but you better use 4 of them (you should anyway) in case your tire pressure changes for whatever reason (leak/temp or altitudes changes) will create slack in the strap(s), so may have to check often. A strap with soft loops and hooks with the safety latch is what I prefer and i loop the hook back around to the built in soft loop or metal d-ring thats built in. safety latch will ensure the strap doesn't pop off if you do get any slack in the strap. I like to use the radius rods and a arms and pull straight (not X), ideally about 4' of strap between anchor points on machine and trailer, imo. I also don't agree with how Polaris says to strap the Pro R machines (above the shocks, compressing the suspension).

    In my toy hauler I have to cross my straps .....front right tire straped to back left D ring and so on. due to lack of D ring options (no d rings in front of machine when loaded ) and I can tell you it definitely moves . My regular trailer I can go strait and it doesn't move at all

    Yes!!!! Tire bonnets!! I’ve been securing my car that way from day one! They are the best! That’s why car haulers have been doing it that way for years!
    But I could never find one easily adjustable to different size tires. I’ll be ordering some of the speed straps especially if they have an E track version…if not I’ll use my E track loops.

    • @speedstrap3432
      @speedstrap3432 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea we don't have an E-Track version yet, just because we wanted it to work for everyone (if you have E-Track or just standard trailer D-rings) . Most guys just end up using Eyelets on their E-Track to connect to.

    Never tie down to suspension components & Make sure straps are not twisted. It’s always a good idea to have a strap running from front of sxs to front trailer as a safety strap.

    I currently use Shock Straps but am looking at your product. I am looking at the Ultimate UTV Tire Bonnet Kit, with two tire bonnets and two through-the wheel tie downs. I have a toy hauler my question is will I use the bonnet straps on the front or rear tires (not sure if it depends on the location of the tie down points). Sorry if the question seems dumb, thank you for any help.

    I was kicked from a rzr facebook page for criticizing someone strapping down multiple rzrs on a wedge trailer by a single strap through the middle of the units over the center console. The amount of people on this planet that should not be allowed to breed is staggering.

    I need HELP? I have a 2022 mule pro-ftx ranch edition UTV. The dry weight is about 2000lbs but plan on carrying about 2300lbs total weight. I am confused about what type of tie down strap to buy. 8k break strength or 2300lbs working load limit.

      Up to you. You can either buy 2 Essential kits and have TB for all 4 wheels, or use a a 'through the wheel' or standard tie-down on the rear.

    Little more involved to install the tie down points for wheel nets but the car WILL NOT move. I never felt comfortable using A arms as a tie down but that's just me. Spend the time and money to secure your rather large investment on the trailer.

    I have 7x14 v nose enclosed trailer and there is not much room beside the Teryx when in the trailer so I was thinking of using your straps that go through the wheels and to the D rings. My D rings are near the sides of the trailer, would that ad extra stress to any steering components by the straps puling the front of the wheels outward? Thanks and great video!!!!

    • @dreamactive9981
      @dreamactive9981 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Pro XP, Turbo R, Pro R have the same four point tie down spots Polaris added. But it is 100% better to use the tire bonnet setup from speed strap as well as through the wheel. This applies to basically any sxs and even vehicle. Just make sure you choose the appropriate strap size.

    At 4:29 it's not called a A-arm. It's a trailing arm. Also hooks are for fishing, it's called anchor points...

    • @jared9299
      @jared9299 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not a trailing arm either, its radius rods or thats what it appears to be wrapped around. kinda hard to tell its so dark. the trailing arms go from the hub towards center of machine. However, some rzr's, like the 900's do have rear a-arms rather than the radius rods. :)

    Yes Speed Straps are nice, but they are 3x the cost of other quality straps, and I can’t see using them at that price. Nice to see how to do it the right way, but this is also a hidden commercial. So don’t buy Speed Straps for the name only, unless the name is what you want to buy.
