Might want to explain a bit better what's going on. Where did the starter come from? When you say 'seawater' is it artificial or natural? When rinsing from the cultures to the feeding flask, is that freshwater. How long between subculturing? Temperature? Light requirements? Interesting stuff but not a great explanation.

I've used frozen rotifers before with good success I could imagine live is much better for them.

I’ve never bought frozen before but I’d like to try. Hikari sells them, maybe there are other brands too

Can you hatch rotifers without salt water?
Edit: in straight freshwater I mean.

That’s a great question. I’ve been doing a little research there. Personally, I haven’t used either. I do baby brine and microworms

There are many types of rotifers in freshwater ! They will not die in freshwater aquarium, they will live and fry there!
