i’m replaying dai for the first time in about two years and he’s literally so obvious. like anything he mentions about the wardens just doesn’t make sense? like i saw it coming when i played more often but having also recently played origins and 2 how he talks about the wardens doesn’t match how they actually are.

I sussed him out at the beginning of the game when he couldn't answer about the Darkspawn in Valammar at the Hinterlands and during the Storm Coast when he didn't know who the Grey Wardens were tracking - THE FK YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THE WARDEN-COMMANDER OF FERELDEN IS ??? At this point The Warden from Origins (which was made Ferelden's Warden Commander at end of Origins or start of Awakening) is as famous as King Alistair and The Divine. There is no way if you are a Ferelden Warden (Yes, Blackwall is a Free Marcher but he seems to have joined the Fereldian Wardens) that you don't know who your Warden -Commander is. Sure, MAYBE you don't know who the First Warden, the High Constable or the Chamberlain are they are so at the top and hardly stay for long within a nation(In Peace Vigilance) or deal with issues below the Commander rank.
This was such a good romance and story 😭 If they had a bit more time to tweak some of the dialogue and ambient situations or brought him in later in the story so that it wasn't so clear he was not a Warden from the beginning, I think it would make the progression feel more organic but I am so here for the pain, betrayal, self-flagellation, and forgiveness! The eyebrows are a gift from heaven, the mods that remove the handle beard are an abomination, and I just love Thom Rainier with all of my angst-ridden heart!
In my first playthrough I never paid him much mind, so when he vanished after I beat the game i was very confused, and i agree, the mod to remove his beard is wrong, when i see him without it I just stare and internally scream "I DONT LIKE CHANGE"

In trespasser I grew to kinda like him. I tried to romance him in my current playthrough, but I eventually ended up editing my save and rebounding to Sera. I don't like how breaking up means were suddenly good friends or not breaking up means everything is great. Also I was a dwarf and the animation with him was terrible. While he is quite boring, he's not badly written. He's boring because he doesn't accept himself. In trespasser he's good. Too bad that it had to take 40 hours for him to starr being interesting. Also he's judgemental when he's pretending to be Blackwall, I don't like that either. No-one disses my Dorian without consequences. If Bull ever breaks his heart, I don't care that I'm one meter tall, I'll kick hiss ass.

I feel like the Blackwall romance was such a second hand romance, it didn't feel finished. I loved Blackwall and wished they gave him a bit more time and effort with his romance but I still enjoy the way it is now but it could've been so great.
There’s something so unnecessarily artistic about that shot in his introduction where the sword drops and the camera fixes on it while he moves into and out of frame. It’s magnificent, but so unlike the rest of the game’s preference for medium shots and close-ups on the face. I dig it.
I used the line: 'I never loved you' it cut me to the bone, and it made sense with my inquisitor who was just tired of the lie and fired off without thinking.
I really enjoyed this romance. Oh how I wish I could romance him as a man but it's perfectly fine as it is. I only wish they're more romantic scenes after the reveal of his character. But, I overall love Blackwall aka Thom Rainier.
I was really into the romance with him, but broke up totally during the judgement scene. It's not like he is a bad person and friendship-wise this would pass. But he left my inquisitor naked and cold in that stable after taking what he wanted. At first I was conflicted, but the more I thought about the lies he fed my inquisitor throughout and how many chances he had to tell her the truth, the more angry I just got. For me "Know your place" wasn't even remotely as savage as I wanted to be with him. I even dare say that as far as romance goes Solas is still a better choice, because he at least had decency to not sleep with a girl under false pretences.

He says he did not lay with the Inquisitor - or do you want the Inquisitor to have had sexual relations with Solas so badly that you have to pretend it could mean something else? my 3 favorite romances, female Inquisitor & Cullen. Male Inquisitor & Cassandra, female elven Inquisitor & Solas. those are my top 3, but i have a 4th, Blackwall. the main reason i put his under the first 3 is because, the beginning felt a little forced, but it eventually picks up once the relationship is officially established when he comes to her room at night. from then on that's when i felt like the relationship was being taken more seriously.
So Inquisitor basically uses her political power to save her boyfriend from jail. Imagine a politician in real life doing that. I can't imagine playing as a good Inquisitor and then abusing your power like that.
I love it when people bring this up because it's so true lol. Blackwell is a great character but he murdered a whole family for money and ruined his soldier's lives forever. The Inquisitor also abuses his/her power to get Josephine's family back in power and if you romance Dorian you can use your power to get his signet back or even threaten the guy who Dorian sold it to into giving it back to him. I guess that's what happens when a leader of a world power is 'elected' based on having a shiny thing embedded in their hand lol. Still love the game but man does the Inquisitor not have the authority to do what they do.
Blackwall was my LI in my first playthrough and I felt that my inquisitor would be out of character if I didn't turn him as a real Grey Warden. So at the end of Trespasser... oupsi!

Blackwall was actually my first choice when I played the game because I was still hung up on the Warden life, but I ended up finding him kind of moody and pessimistic.

@Melody Ackerman can't be just that. I've seen bedroom scenes for other romances at the winter palace also. None of my romance have had anything other than a wedding during tresspasser
@Melody Ackerman while blackwall is a special case it's still wondering how these are triggered. I have played tresspasser through various romances/choices never has there been a bedroom scene. Not Cullen, blackwall, or Dorian. I've only ever encountered wedding scenes.

I despise him. I wasted my first ever play through on that liar. He took the name of a great man and his deeds as his own to hide from his selfish past. Then he tricked me, slept with me, and abandoned me. He wanted to take the easy way out and have his jollies first. I will always make him a warden. He'll live the rest of his days repenting for his actions and hopefully doing so alone.

Anyway it's surely a mod, because there's plenty of such on Nexus, that replace the vanilla uniform with various dresses, the idea isn't anything new.
What I'm wondering though is the naked Inquisitor. Is THAT a mod, or it's the only romance, where she's shown naked? With Cullen, there's kissing on the table while both wearing clothes, and the next scene is the Inquisitor already dressed up and just adjusting her boots.
Ok, that does sound weird. I'm not so desperate to see my Inquisitor naked, I'm just wondering, I thought every romance avoids showing her naked body and now I see it's not the case. XD.
@@Croftice1 I honestly have no clue 😶 but I think there's a similar thing with Cassandra, where she is naked and they show her chest.

@Alexandra Hefnerová Blackwall's isn't the only romance where you see your female PC nude? Iron Bull's has a scene like that as well, though you may have seen/played his romance with a male Inky.
my 3 favorite romances, female Inquisitor & Cullen.
Male Inquisitor & Cassandra, female elven Inquisitor & Solas. those are my top 3, but i have a 4th, Blackwall. the main reason i put his under the first 3 is because, the beginning felt a little forced, but it eventually picks up once the relationship is officially established when he comes to her room at night. from then on that's when i felt like the relationship was being taken more seriously.
The few times I've romanced Blackwall, I've created an older-looking Inquisitor. He strikes me as a man in his... forties?

So Inquisitor basically uses her political power to save her boyfriend from jail. Imagine a politician in real life doing that.
I can't imagine playing as a good Inquisitor and then abusing your power like that.
I love it when people bring this up because it's so true lol. Blackwell is a great character but he murdered a whole family for money and ruined his soldier's lives forever. The Inquisitor also abuses his/her power to get Josephine's family back in power and if you romance Dorian you can use your power to get his signet back or even threaten the guy who Dorian sold it to into giving it back to him. I guess that's what happens when a leader of a world power is 'elected' based on having a shiny thing embedded in their hand lol. Still love the game but man does the Inquisitor not have the authority to do what they do.
Blackwall was my LI in my first playthrough and I felt that my inquisitor would be out of character if I didn't turn him as a real Grey Warden. So at the end of Trespasser... oupsi!

Blackwall was actually my first choice when I played the game because I was still hung up on the Warden life, but I ended up finding him kind of moody and pessimistic.
but another thing, did you use a complextion mod because i think your character's complextion is great same with blackwall's, but it could be a graphics mod too which idk for sure and that's why im asking, and sorry for my last comment,just idk how I feel,but it is not about how I feel for your character,but it's yours feeling not mine.
I might have used a graphics mod, I only included the mods that I felt were displayed in the video, but maybe I missed one.

@Melody Ackerman can't be just that. I've seen bedroom scenes for other romances at the winter palace also. None of my romance have had anything other than a wedding during tresspasser
@Melody Ackerman while blackwall is a special case it's still wondering how these are triggered. I have played tresspasser through various romances/choices never has there been a bedroom scene. Not Cullen, blackwall, or Dorian. I've only ever encountered wedding scenes.

@@Stormangel2779 there are no bedroom scenes with the other love interests in Trespasser. Any that you have seen on the internet have been modded and do not occur in the DLC.

Blackwall was my first romance. He started to annoy me as soon as we arrived at Skyhold, and I dumped him for Cullen when I learned the truth :x
I despise him. I wasted my first ever play through on that liar. He took the name of a great man and his deeds as his own to hide from his selfish past. Then he tricked me, slept with me, and abandoned me. He wanted to take the easy way out and have his jollies first. I will always make him a warden. He'll live the rest of his days repenting for his actions and hopefully doing so alone.
I can see why you despise him. What he did to the inquisitor was wrong leaving her like that, yet i understand from experience how difficult it is to step in the light after being in the shadows for so long. The fear, the anxiety, the rage and disappointment you might see in the eyes of your loved ones. It is suffocating like you are drowning grasping for every bit of air you can, while being dragged to dark dethp of sorrow and, guilt. I do no want you to forgive him neither do i want you to stop despiseing him, i want you to understand the amount of strenght it took too step up on the gallows and saying what plagued him for years. He has risen above the sea of his own troubles .
See the romance itself as a waste, but thom rainer is strong , dutiful , kind , just , and honorable when it counts. He is no waste and neither is his redemption may he be thom or blackwall.
