I have never understood why so many people hated him I really liked him, he is among the few I love to romance besides Cullen and Solas. I really like him thank you so much for putting it all up here I appreciate it makes me wanna play the game, I already beat Dragon Age The Veilguard three times.

Later he tells Cole tho that he does not use bloodmagic. He does not hate bloodmagic as such, just the use of it. He is like an archfey, he never lies but he does not tell you the truth.

I think he does frown on blood magic as most people think of it, which is as a way to mind control and bind people and spirits, as well as do blood sacrifices for power, which is what happens when the practice goes unchecked and is allowed to be taken too far. Makes sense that a man who values freedom and free will above all else would take offence to Rook's tone. Blood magic merely used as a means to an end to chanel and strenghten simple spells, or make communication as a last resort during an emergency is not the same as that, but most people tend to paint all people who perform even a little bit of blood magic all the same, which he does also take offence to in Inquisition if the Inquisitor argues with him that its all evil no matter what. He recognizes that there's nuance and is offended when others don't.

Where did he lie?

This was another tactic he was using to manipulate for what worked for him in the moment 😢

And he uses blood magic on Rook.

i don’t see a lie. solas doesn’t like blood magic. he’s definitely more emotional during the ritual than he is in a missable conversation

That is plot relevant in Dragon Age 4. what he chooses to tell the protagonist. And what he withheld. The god of half-truths.

I am so glad I am not the only one noticing his opinion changed. They spit on the lore and on the characters.

Blackwall was my LI in my first playthrough and I felt that my inquisitor would be out of character if I didn't turn him as a real Grey Warden. So at the end of Trespasser... oupsi!

my 3 favorite romances, female Inquisitor & Cullen. Male Inquisitor & Cassandra, female elven Inquisitor & Solas. those are my top 3, but i have a 4th, Blackwall. the main reason i put his under the first 3 is because, the beginning felt a little forced, but it eventually picks up once the relationship is officially established when he comes to her room at night. from then on that's when i felt like the relationship was being taken more seriously.
