How about that! Thrills are in the eye of the beholder and as I knew back then as I do today - this kid is going places (like Mars). Still rooting for you Alyssa!!!
Werner Von Braun's Tombstone says.... "And THe Firmament Showeth His Handiwork". Von Braun told us from his grave that the earth is flat, space does not exist and his life was a lie.
Alyssa Carson's exemplary attitude and mature outlook are a real inspiration. With the inevitability of expansive commercial activity in space, and the ever-improving outlook for permanent human habitation on the moon or Mars within just a few decades, more and more young people are coming to the realisation that a future in space is a goal they might realistically attain. The savvy ones (like Alyssa), also realise that competition's going to be tough, and that the first pioneers will be living the adventure (and facing the many mortal dangers) in full view of the world. They understand that it is just as essential to use to use every resource at hand, build a following, and craft a public perception which is, to fans at least, synonymous with the official missions on the horizon, as it is to satisfy all the strictly professional criteria of a career astronaut or colonist. Since the early days of the shuttle era, NASA and other agencies around the world concerned with human space travel have been come less interested in the exclusive few of those who had, in the necessarily narrow viewpoint of the time, "the right stuff", and much more interested in those who have "all the right stuffs". Those who work in space no longer need to be super-geniuses or test pilots, but competent engineers and scientists who have not only useful technical qualifications, but the social skills and personality traits necessary for one to thrive under the intense pressure of a life off earth, and the constant public scrutiny that comes with it. I believe I will be completely unsurprised if in the future I see Alyssa Carson actually became the first human to stand on the surface of Mars, and I think I'd be damn certain that she earned it!
A year? I dont think space travel will go exactly as planned. What if there are creatures under the surface that would attack a human but not a robot. So many things could go wrong.

I agree. I hope I am wrong. Personally spending like a quarter of a trillion dollars to send someone to Mars seems impractical. I don't think humans have earned this privilege. Back on earth its a daily thing for a billionaire to fight with someone over splitting a piece of bread. People still starving. When we can fix these types of problems here on earth then we can go to Mars and set up cities. Of course this candidate seems super smart and talented. I hope she makes it safely and gets back. But honestly this to me is totally unsafe and considering the machines we can send into space totally un necessary and costly as hell and very impractical and resources could be much better spent. Bill Gates can afford a billion pieces of toast for breakfast if he wants and people still starving. What are we going to do on Mars and if this bright talented 16 year old girl does not make it back then we sent her to her death. I don't know what would make me think society is ready for Mars but definitely I don't think we are and agree this is a one way ticket for this girl. No idea what she is going to eat and drink for 7 years total there and back and if the engines fail we never see her again. Yeah sounds like a one way trip. And way too much money. And people starving here. Society should not have these privileges. Edit: 9:00 but see that never happened. Matt Damon never went to Mars. It was a movie. Also in movies Matt Damon was a nice guy on Mars but in Interstellar he betrayed everyone. I agree with her sponsors should have nothing to do with her going or not. If she can go it should have nothing to do with sponsors. Sponsors "making Mars more popular" is irrelevant. Not against her having sponsors and being popular but this is about her life here not what sponsors think or wether people are "talking about it and its popular." I wish her the best but what people think should not matter. Its expensive enough without needing more popularity. 10:15 for sure that is awesome. I don't know if she's only affiliated with NASA or just preparing for it but there's a good chance that NASA won't be the first to send humans on mars. Either way good luck to her dedicationa and future.
She's not even been selected to become an astronaut, let alone picked for the Mars Mission. I think she is a great candidate, but likely needs more experience outside of just being an astronaut.
La NASA explicó q es un traslado difícil y muy costoso, y q en un futuro podrían hacer viajes con retorno a la tierra...ella no irá, siempre habla de su vida cuando vuelva...
Anyone remember the dog Named Laika.? Maybe Alyssa Carson is going to be the sacrificial lamb for NASA to gather information about the impact of Marcian atmosphere to human.
NASA had to put out a statement clarifying that they have no affiliation with her. Critics say her camp goes far in implying there is one, including using the name NASA within her social media handle and wearing gear that says NASA. She's been put groomed and put in front of the media since kindergarten stating that she will eventually go to Mars, with her dad making statements about how she knows she needs to forego marriage and children in order to make her Mars dream come true. She has completed lots of youth space camps... and done lots of media... she is not an actual astronaut at this point, but has gained a degree of fame for stating to the media throughout her childhood that she wishes to become one. They basically branded and sold a childhood dream.

Isn't she is the character "ALITA" battle 😇 angel .Yes she is the sources...
I helpe you have
Bold to say she will walk on Mars by 2030... They have a long way to go and a lot of things to solve.
I've heard about her many years ago.
Almost an assured statement like she'll be the first to step foot on mars.
I don't know if she's only affiliated with NASA or just preparing for it but there's a good chance that NASA won't be the first to send humans on mars.
Either way good luck to her dedicationa and future.
you go girl!
She's not even been selected to become an astronaut, let alone picked for the Mars Mission. I think she is a great candidate, but likely needs more experience outside of just being an astronaut.
yeah they need essentail workers not rich kids
I ❤ Alyssa Carson
I want to go too. Im really instrested in it but im from Pakistan
Anyone remember the dog Named Laika.?
Maybe Alyssa Carson is going to be the sacrificial lamb for NASA to gather information about the impact of Marcian atmosphere to human.
After Titan, I would not risk......
4th comment from sri lanka 🇱🇰
@Xuanzhi Chen are you serious
What is with her being not official yet?
Happy to go with her if I could.
