- In today’s VLOG, March 16th, A bit of a free form vlog, we take Eva to get her injection then I record a conversation Anny and I had about her history in business and how she got started. I thought it would be interesting to let her talk about her past a little bit as we walked Eva in the park.
The JY_VLOG is a series of semi-daily videos about my life living abroad in China. What a difference 3 years make. Here you guys are, walking, no masks, now everywhere, masks. The entire world. I'm praying for those days to come back. I really enjoyed this vlog where you guys are relaxed and just being a family. All the other ones I've seen are of y'all rushing in and out of airports and being in quarantine!!

Omg I can't believe I watched this Matt seeing her poor little face whell up and cry like that :( I cried through all 4 of my kids getting there needles and it's so sad but highly needed with all the nasty infections and diseases available .... Eva looked like she quickly forgot about it though 🤗🤗 sorry Annys job isn't doing too good bit at least she gets to spend more time at home with you and Eva 🤗🤗🤗❤️

I am my own Agent and often get asked to search for other products on a wholesale level. I often think of spending my max Visa time in China. Next month I'll be at the Canton Fair, but I have previously been to Yiwu. My customers like the fact that I can monitor quality before shipment. I would love to make money sourcing for others while sourcing my own products. Good to hear this information from a nice Chinese woman that speaks great English. Thanks for letting Anny share her work experience!

Hi Matt and Anny, I have to comment on this video which just showed up on my home channel. I so admire Anny's industriousness! I am impressed that a woman entrepreneur can be successful in China. I can't help but ask what is it like to be so motivated to succeed in a Communist country? Are there roadblocks there that we in a democratic country don't have? I might be subject to propaganda and if that is true, please enlighten me. I'm open to any and all avenues of information. I can see, Matt, why you were enamored with Anny! Like this vlog very much! Thank you for sharing and may your work continue in its success so that you are able to enjoy your family and your life. Many blessings! So you know Venezuela's current turmoil has been going on for too long and much longer than you suspect. It started with Chavez who was in power for over 15 years until he died of some sort of cancer and then he had the brilliant notion of leaving a former bus driver to "take the wheel" (sorry, couldn't help myself) and within a year turned the state of the country into a massive pile up of wreck and as we speak the fatalities are still being ticked so know one knows for sure how many lives they've destroyed since they decided to "save" everyone from the evils of "imperialism". Not only is there no toilet paper but there is no medicine, people are dying because they can't medicate their ailments. The corruption is a epidemic on the grandest, deadliest scale it should be a crime against humanity. Hopefully the day they pay for what they have done is coming soon because it's too much to suffer without justification by any means. Venezuela was/is a beautiful country. It could be again once this dictatorship has seen its end.

Thank you Annie for sharing a story about your work and life :) You can buy the Mexican spanish Fluency 123 pack from Glossika.com There are over 3000 sentences that you can listen to while walking, etc. Also, you can learn spanish language vocabulary from memrise.com to make learning sentences easier. There is a spanish business pack where you can learn things like "casa matriz" 队部 Duì bù. Initially, I used memrise to learn to recognize and recall about 600 simplified characters and meaning in about 3 months. This facilitated learning sentences.

I recall my first injection was at my school. Poor us had no chance of getting surprised as we were getting shots one after another. A long line of bawling kindergarten kids.

Hmm seems like there are so many opportunities in trade with China. . (or there was in the recent past). My wife has a friend who runs a small clothing factory in Guangzhou. . I really should figure out a way to sell their clothing in Canada. . maybe I'll have to do like you and just pound the pavement with samples. The other business idea is to export stuff from Canada to China. I already know what sort of things are in demand. but our shipping costs are ridiculous. . partly because we are so far from China. . and it is so difficult to get payments from China with all their capital outflow controls they have in place. I wanted to send some dust masks to a friend in Beijing and there was no way she could pay me.... Anyways you inspired me to try harder to build some sort of trade business with China.

Does Any help foreigners find customers in China? For example I'm from Brazil and I have coffee beans, propolis etc.. and would like to export it to China.

Cool, lived in Nanjing 2013/2015 and when I back in Brazil some coffee farmers was interested in kind business but China don't consume too much coffee yet also I sold some propolis in capsules direct to consumer but when get there the price was a little high so just sold few.
Well, I have seen quite a lot Brazil food selling on Taobao, or jingdong, just simple question, how much you can produce? please reply
I saw those food there as well. I don't produce any kind of goods, my hometown's economy is basically coffee so there are many farmers around. Propolis capsule is a company make it, the propolis is green propolis, is quite special because the bee use wild rosemary that just have here in the south, so the propolis have special properties. This propolis already have in Japan but in China I did not see it.
About this Brazilian food I guess the chinese are here they buy and send it to china to sell them, like the powder milk from Australia and other place. I try to do this with some teas and introduce some coffee bag but Chinese dont know how to make your own coffee at home, is easier buy Nescafe or just go to Starbucks.
Generally speaking, coffee in China is still like a "status" thing. If you want to enter the China market, you will have to upsell your product as ultra premium or elite. Had a Colombian friend try to get in the coffee business in China and it was very difficult, but doable if you are willing to adapt. Best of luck!
I noticed 2 things here....
1. You're very good with these videos and I enjoy your stories.
2. From the very beginning it was noticeable how significantly farther ahead you walked ahead of your wife. I can never understand this. And when you talk to her, you're twisting your neck back.
And this is not just you Matt, this is noticeable with men all over the globe.
But why? I always think, if the lady were to need you, you're too far away to be immediately there for her.
Somehow this says something about the way men think, doesn't it.

Hey man, nice video first of all! I've question regarding being an import/export agent. I've a contact in China who is the company owner of a company that manufactures hydraulic products. He wants my help to sell these products to customers in my home country, what is the best way to go about this? Should I get a business visa when I come to China, or a work visa? I also would like to live in China while doing this, and I would get commission per product sold.
Oh, and finally, what would you say is a fair percentage to take as commission per product sold? I guess it varies depending on what area it is, but I'm totally new to this stuff, just got this opportunity a while ago.
