A Chinese international student flew from London to Shanghai and landed in Shanghai almost midnight, around 6 staffs in airport were waiting just for her and another passenger , they drove a big bus just sent two passengers to hotel around 2am after they finished all procedure. The staffs in airport worked very hard and wear the plastic dresses more than 12 hours every day. The student was moved and cried for their hardworking.

  • @XavierXie91

It's sad to see, but separating Matt and Anne is actually a very thoughtful measurement to prevent family transmission of the virus. Study shows a 2-5 days gap between a person got infected and the person became infectious to other people without symptoms (symptoms normally show up 5-7 days after being infected). So if Matt unfortunately got infected during the trip and Anne luckily didn't get it but they stay together, Anne would get infected from Matt 5 days later. This is also why the "soft quarantine" imposed by other countries has very limited effects compared to China's.

This vlog is EXTREMELY helpful and useful information. Infinite thanks for going through the trouble to make this! I'm an American international school teacher working in Dongguan, China. My wife, two year old son, and I self-evacuated to Kazakhstan, where my wife is from. We've been in Kaz for almost two months staying with my wife's family and are eager to return to our home in Dongguan. Yesterday We heard rumors via WeChat groups that the rules have changed and if we do return to China we will have to stay in a quarantine hotel instead of in our own apartment for 14 days. I believe this goes for ALL foreigners arriving to all cities in China. When my school reopens I'm sure we will have to go thru what you and your family are having to do. Thanks again. I know so much more now what to expect. We'd most likely be flying into Guangzhou. Have a nice rest in your quarantine hotel.

    • @xixinan
      @xixinan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Yes, It’s very strict in Guangdong now. It doesn’t matter if you are foreigners or Chinese, if you been outside of the country you will be subject to 14days of quarantine in a hotel. And after you finished the lock down and return to Dongguan you will have to register with both your local neighborhood committee and the city. But things are returning to normal now.

When big things happen, the gov should react fast and have big moves. The point is: taking strict measures is the only way to deal with it. Like China, and South Korea, different system but both countries did the same thing: isolation quarantine and serious tracking of the potential and confirmed cases. Freedom is limited but lives can be saved.

They are semi-serious about mouth protection but completely casual about the equally important eye protection. Us government can’t just lockdown an entire region like China can. They do not have total authoritarian control over the US people. The people have to be on board with the government to preform a lock down like China. This is what a free society does. Obviously it has its downsides in a crisis. But since the government wasn’t taking it seriously the people weren’t knowing what to think so many didn’t take it seriously. But let’s not talk about the downsides of an authoritarian government.

My wife and I arrived in late Sept of 2020. I am a university professor and my wife is the Vice Principal of the university’s kindergarten. We both left China 7 months prior when Covid hit, thinking that the United States would be a safe haven from the virus.
Obviously, we were wrong with Trump’s complete neglect and mishandling of the entire situation. For Spring semester, I taught my classes online to students halfway around the world. I thought that the University would eventually furlough all of us, as we tried a few times but just could not find a way to return to China. Then our visas ran out and couldn’t return anyway.
Fortunately, our university stuck with us, facilitating a way to get new visas (which in itself is another story), and eventually received passage from DFW to Detroit to Shanghai.
Our story pretty much mirrors yours at that point. People were moved along through the testing phase. The Chinese attendees were as always, professional and patient and helpful. We went downstairs to get our Covid test in a trailer outside. The person administering the test was gentle and skilled. No pain, just a tickle.
Then upstairs to get admitted to the country, and collect our baggage, then the bathroom, and then the long wait for the bus. Driver isolated from the passengers. Middle of the night. 2 hours later, arrive at the hotel, then another hour wait to get everyone processed. Then to our room. Then a knock, our breakfast was ready. Lots of rice. Soggy vegetables.
But we weren’t complaining. It was sad that we had to leave to come to China to be safe from a deadly virus that half of Americans refused to believe was dangerous.
Over two years later, we’re still here. Covid tests every 48 hours. Inconvenient, yes. But then again, we’re safe.

Mitchell McCallum WHO and scientists are not sure where the virus came from! You think you're smarter than these people! Please provide scientific proof of the origin of this virus! How to prove the origin of a virus can be proved by scientific data! It's not by your mind!
By comparing the genes of the new coronavirus, researchers at the kawasaki biodata company in Japan created a tree of mutations that allowed the virus to reproduce. The virus genome sequences MT039890 - human Korea - Korea and gvihib 0000000 - human China - hubei - province - wuhan - city have many samples-specific substitutions in their sequences, the researchers said. In this study, the virus genome sequence "mn988713-humans-illinois-chicago, USA" was found to have multiple ambiguous bases at the locus of contracted information. Interestingly, ambiguous bases can be interpreted as a mixture of TCC and CIC groups (table 4). This fact indicates that "mn988713-humans-america-illinois-chicago" contains at least two different viral genomes. When the next generation of sequential data is released, we can verify this hypothesis. The researchers collected virus data Shared to the GISAIDEpiFluTM database around the world as of 12 February, including 93 new coronavirus samples from 12 countries on four continents. Through whole genome data parsing, the researchers found that the collected 93 samples including 58 kinds of haploid (haplotypes gene types, that is, a number of chain decided to close the same traits genetic makeup of genotype), with super spreaders haploid type as the center, the researchers will be classified into 5 groups, they constitute a network virus evolution. The five centers are haplotypes H1, H3 and H13 of 3 ancient super spenders, and haplotypes H56 and mv2 of 2 new super spenders, respectively. Among them, H1 haplotype is the most and its derived haplotype is also the most.
At present, the haplotypes of patient samples in China associated with the seafood market in south China are H1 and its derived haplotypes H2 and h8-h12. There are three sources of the virus in guangdong, including an H13 not detected in wuhan, and five sources in the United States.According to the researchers, it is certain that the new coronavirus in the south China seafood market was introduced from other places and spread rapidly in the market and spread out of the market. At the same time, the current spread of cases comes from at least three routes. Two significant population expansions of the novel coronavirus occurred before 12 February (8 December and 6 January respectively).

The virus wasn't created in a lab it is created by chinese people eating animals that shouldn't enter a human and the sanitary conditions in chinese markets, it's simple but you guys will create all these logical contortions to disavow the role chinese people played in the creation and the spread of the virus.

I still think you made a right choice, and yes, even with a lost bag, it's still a WIN. My original mentality on going back to China is that as long as I land on Chinese soil, I would be safe. As even I were infected, the Chinese medical system is well trained and primed to handle it correctly. When I see Annie and you were separated, I really feel bad about it, and start to worry about myself. However, it is the correct way to handle it. The in-family transmission probability is reported as high as 80%. In the worst scenario, god forbids, your daughter would not want to see both her parents get infected. This separated quarantine is uncomfortable but necessary, for both of your family and the whole society. It's amazing to see multiple cultures all dealing with the same enemy. It's surreal.

well it isn't the first time - HIV hit the whole world and 32 million dead - including hundreds of thousands Chinese. It's just that we wanted to associate HIV with concerts and charity shows instead of quarantine ...nobody asked for USA accountability or call it America HIV. Sad that some grown adults need to be reminded viruses have no nationality and they don't follow any human order.

@@wkdravenna Really? HIV? H1N1? Mad Cow? Spanish Flu? All Euro-America originating. HIV alone as a US-origin pandemic (not its genetic origin of Africa) in the 1980s killed 32 million world-wide. H1N1 killed 500k; Mad Cow killed 180k. On the other hand, SARS killed less than 1000 (still too many). Covid-19 hopefully fewer than 100k.

This wasn't meant to be a debate of who "owns blame" for this virus, but since we'rehere now... if you believe if a god, then some god is to blame. If you don't, then welcome to nature and evolution of organisms.
No country is responsible for this virus.

Heard today Italy finds the loss of smell could be a sign of infection. Even a brief, temporary loss.

This video was like a suspense movie. Had me at the edge of my seat when ur bus driver was falling asleep. Praying everything will be normal one day again but I don’t think things will ever go back to how they were.

That was so intense! At least you are safe, hope you got books, music. Need something like resistance bands for exercising, I find them really good for getting the heart rate up and the lymph moving, cleans the fluid away, maybe you can get some sent in. Eva has been an angel, I guess she picked up the vibes, along with already being well balanced. Good luck, stay with us if you can. Australia. shut down but not locked down, nothing like in China, no-one wears a mask except myself, plenty of masks on Ebay.

What a stressful couple days since leaving the US. Glad you guys made it to Ningbo, but hate you are separated. That just makes no sense to me.
Poor Eva...so funny but not really when she said "I don't like this room." She's so adorable and such a little trooper.
Hopefully this is last stop before you guys can really go home. Hang in there ❤
