  • The Utah Legislature has considered a bill or resolution regarding daylight saving time every year since 2009, but this year one of the bills may actually become law for the first time.

North America needs to be on Standard Time all year around. Permanant Daylight Savings will just mean that savvy people will simply start their day one hour later if DST becomes permanent. We need high noon to be at 12:00pm all year around and not just during winter months.

Daylight saving time forces people to start their day 1 hour early
If you normally wake up 7:30am
It will be changed to 8:30am
Now you have to wake up 1 hour early
Waking up early means waking up in the dark
      Keep standard time all year
During standard time we don’t wake up in the dark because your starting your day 1 hour later
      Wake up normally 7:30am
It will be changed to 6:30am so it 1 hour later

If this is really about kids, then they should be listening to scientists. Science shows that kids/teens brains are sleep deprived because of them needing to start school so early. It's hardwired, thus they should be starting later when it would be lighter anyway. So just end the clock change and push school's start time to a later part in the day. It'll be healthier and safer for everyone.
If it's somehow difficult to incorporate both, then just end changing the clocks and just keep it on the time that will always have earlier daylight starts. It doesn't change the amount of daylight per day anyway, it just is a fake way to supposedly shift when it happens. But in reality it's always happening the same way no matter what the clock says. They don't have some sort of control over the planet's rotation. All clocks are there to do is synchronize things. That's it. To keep flip-flopping them throws off the sync because people forget about it.

We sacrifice so much for the alcoholic night time people who run the government and all the companies. We should all live at night for them? We sure will.

End it!!! Heart attacks are increased as well as all the other risks mentioned. My kids will not be getting up an hour early for schools! I am the parent and have that right!! Ive already told my work place. I am staying on my biological clock!! I am not coming in an hour early. If they fire me I'll claim unemployment and emotional distress!!

      Not during the time change
It’s during daylight saving time because you are saving light in the evening which affects your health
Lack of morning light can impact your health productivity and sleep
Daylight saving time makes later sunrise which impact your health during winter
Standard time is best for health safety productivity environment education

This was from 2020, and it still isn't a law. And now they're trying to do it again.
Am I the only one who isn't falling for this "Let's make daylight saving time permanent" joke anymore?
Even if they do try to make it permanent, it won't be permanent for long, after they realize that it doesn't get light out until about 8am in winter. (And if they made standard time permanent, in the summer, it would start getting light out at about 5am, and start getting dark out at about 4pm.
I say, even though it's a hassle, stick to changing your clocks twice a year. It's the only way to have the right amount of daylight all year long.

This is America. And I don't mean "soaring eagles and hot dogs and rifles" I mean the landmass in the northern hemisphere, right between the North Pole and the Equator. Changing clocks twice a year makes sense for America's place on Earth, just like 11 time zones makes sense for a gigantic country like Russia

      I hear you - I hate when it’s dark at 4 pm - Once it’s dark
outside I don’t want to go shopping and I can’t do anything outdoors like pressure washing my porch or fixing a fence - yes I can do it in daylight but I get more done when I more hours to do it in- I like to hike and camp outdoors but there is less hiking time and I have to set up my tent 🏕 before it gets dark 😟
I love Daylight Savings time and hope we do get it permanently- soon !

It will always light daylight savings time because I’m a vegetable gardener and I could work in the garden until like 9 o’clock at night .
I never liked Fall and Winter for the time element- it got dark early and people seemed to disappear into their homes - I missed the camaraderie we had as neighbors. Energy level decreased - I gained weight - Spring was my savior 😂
My health is in decline now and I look forward to every inch of daylight even more - I do understand how people don’t share my love of DST though .

It means that your clocks will show later time
Having later time means we have to wake up in the dark
