My Shrimp Reproduced for 4 Years, This Happened

- I made the new nano fish aquarium a few months ago ( • Perfecting the Low Tec... ), but I didn't stock it with anything. I wanted to wait and allow it to season/establish first. I knew that I'd have the best chances of success that way, especially with all of the shrimp. However, the wait is over.
Let's take an updated look at it all and get the animals into their new home. The shrimp and fish will love it!

I’m so excited for the shrimp and fish to be in this aquarium finally! I had to stop editing the video several times to just go and watch them swim around. I can’t wait to see how this aquarium continues to develop. Also, how many shrimp did you think were in the old setup? Let me know, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
Transferred 6 shrimp to my new nanotank some weeks ago. Can confirm using a net isn't the best option 🙂. First tank was heavily planted, the new one has mainly mossball structures, thin branches and a few other small plants. It's super fascinating to see the shrimp actually swimming around.
There probably were 147 shrimp if you count the ones you already put in the tank
You are so much FUN
You are so much FUN❗️
I guessed around 70 !
I recently moved my shrimp tank across the country. One thing I found out: there are always like 10x more shrimp than what are visible at any time. I found an entire breeding colony inside my canister filter despite having sponges on the intake and outflow pipes.
So real😂
... What? lol
That is crazy.
😮 I’ll have to check my canister filter!
Yep, now i have to check my canister too :D
I started with 30 red cherry shrimp 4 years ago I have 2 tanks full and currently supply a local aquarium sold close to 1000 in 2 years
Imagine you're just chilling and one day your home starts to be destroyed and people start disappearing. Then you find yourself just sitting in a black void with all your friends/family, then you get dumped onto a new planet.
That sounds a lot like the song Tool - Rosetta Stoned
Don't threaten me with a good time 😆
It would be great to get off this planet and away from everyone but my friends and family -- permanent camping trip!
Have you seen Dark City?
@@gatonegro187SHIT THE BED AGAIN
Haha ye funny 😂
When you dumped the shrimp into the new tank and the music started it was like a sigh of relax and calm. Why I watch this channel, thank you.
I was actually in shock waiting for the fishes to gobble them all up
I'm not watching this video until the title gives a hint as to what happened. I am tired of these click bait titles.
ha such a relief of air breath inded
@@TheKomentor Then don't, lol. I hate clickbait as much as the next guy, but most people don't like spoilers either.
there are tons of videos of people decorating aquariums, but most never follow up on what happens after the initial setup, so i really enjoyed this.
Same I agre
These shrimp have a better love life than me
Probably every wild animal has.
Everyone has a better lovelife than me...
Lol
You should see Sea Monkeys. Those things mate constantly. Sometimes, even threesomes.
you just gotta broaden your dating pool like these shrimps did, you got a single cousin or aunt perhaps?
Love it! I did the same with my aquarium a year back and found out that my 15 blue dream cardina shrimp had multiplied into 216!
New Serpadesign videos are my favorite part about Saturdays! It’s so cool to see how this setup has evolved and what this new version looks like 💚
I also laugh out loud when I see my snails "surfing". Your tankscapes are gorgeous, both old and new!
Another trick that works well for catching lots of shrimp is a plastic soda bottle with the top cut off, flipped upside down, and inserted back into the bottom part of the bottle. Once they're inside, they have a very difficult time navigating back out.
I've been watching your videos for years now. My youngest and I have made so many little environments throughout them that we give a jar away every winter to family. Thanks, man, for growing and sharing your adventure.
I have a 5 gallon tank exclusively with Blue Dream shrimps that have been reproducing for about 4 years. I started with 6, and now my estimation is somewhere around 50, but there are always tiny babies I cannot see to count. I've considered moving them to a larger home, but they seem quite content, and I don't want to ruin a good thing, so there they remain. Every so often, I prune their plants, clean the glass and maintain their filters, but other than that, they are very low maintenance. I love watching them; they are such lovely, graceful little guys.
I love your upgrade videos and seeing the old animals get amazing new homes, it really gives an idea of how far things have come
Yes. I second that
That's so many shrimp!!!! I can't believe you started with only 6 and now you have 143!!! Can't wait to see the increase in the next 4 years!!!
My 6 turned into 2🥲
Beautiful, I'm glad to know all the shrimp got moved over! They're so cute. I love this tank.
Tanner, I'm glad you seasoned it. It's so beautiful and striking. Your creativity is such magic. Hit that thumbs up people!
what does seasoning mean? casual viewer here
@@BabyCalypso it refers to letting the set up mature and establish (plants to grow, bacteria colonies to build up, parameters to stabalise etc)
thank you! @@cc-nb5fb
Very cool update! Love the new aquarium. Thanks for posting this and sharing your thoughts. And for the shrimp count!!!
lol that internal shot from the fish POV of your face peering in was great. It always shocks me how amazing these tanks look after just a few months.
those danios look so cool never seen them before
can you suggest me channel with ecosystem with ants also in it other than antscanada channel
3:10 had me laughing more than you'd think
It’s amazing how close your guess was! The new tank is beautiful. If I only had one tank to look at I’d pick that. The shrimp are really pretty. ❤❤❤ thank you for sharing this journey with us. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻God bless you and your family.
These videos are perfectly timed for Australian Saturday night chill out
I second that!
Watching you is an absolute joy. Your love, knowledge, and dedication to this field is beyond belief.
Thank you Tanner please keep it up
LOL floating snail made me crack
So crazy, I think that tank was the first video of yours I watched! I've got to admit it has been wonderful seeing the channel grow and for your continued quality and care. I have loved every single video you've put out - thanks for all your hard work over the years!
'Tank' you for taking us along Serpa journey 😊. It is so gratifying for me as a follower..

Another outstanding result Tanner! What a lovely 'scape!
I really like this sort of look back / update content. I’d love to see more of it.
Stunning setup and wow what vivid colour shrimp. Superb
Wow! Just so happy how well you did and made these habitats. Thank You !
for a year 143 is a few numbers, but what i like most is your new set up keep inspiring us more i wish you more success
I love the care you took in doing this.
And also enjoyed how you explained everything
It’s grown in so nicely! I rescaped my 70 gallon about six months ago and also did a crypt forest. Dang…..it is flourishing! Crypt forests are my new fav.
This tank is just beautiful! I have never seen so many shrimp in one tank! Wildly inspiring!!
What a milestone! So neat 😊
Looking forward to many more years!
So good, love the fish and the shrimp. Nice refresh as well.
Wow this build is GORGEOUS! Look at all the contrast 😍
Hey mate love your stuff! I’m taking great inspiration from your designs!
I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks for sharing!

There probably were 147 shrimp if you count the ones you already put in the tank
I came for the shrimp I stayed for the sweet narration. Two thumbs up!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful journey 🙂
Your videos are always so comforting to me. Love each one.
Hey tanner! This was an AMAZING edge, cant wait for the next video!
I would live to see your take on aquapontics. Combining fish and gardening seems so interesting.
It is, but in my experience, a lot of the people I've seen doing it (especially online) have very little scientific knowledge in both botany and fish husbandry.
I've been around for many years watching your videos and its crazy how much you've improved in tank design over the last 3 years. Thank you for all the amazing content!
I never comment because I’m usually (am right now) watching on my TV but I’ve probably watched for the last 10 years and It’s been amazing to watch your channel grow - but one of the reasons I love watching is that everything is real… and real takes time and hard work, it can be boring and definitely not always *aesthetic*
Basically I’m thinking about that tiny tank I packed away during a move…. I’ve never had shrimp… 🤔
So wonderful, as always. Thank you.
Aquariums always look so much better once the fish and shrimp are added. Love the design.
Your tanks are always an inspiration for me when Im starting a new tank or redecorating a tank. You do such an amazing work with them. Keep up the great work.
You make it look so easy. Always creating beautiful habitats.
Love this type of video !
And beautiful tanks too
This is so cool. I admire the patience of anyone who can so carefully curate these habitats.
The new set up looks fantastic. Now, can’t wait to see how you set up the old tank…. Just love your ensigns..
Tanner, you really & truly are *superb* at what you do! Your work never fails to blow me away 💯
So cool, thank you for the meticulous counting! That original tank was the design that finally got me to subscribe to your channel (I'm afraid of snakes, nothing personal). I'm a happy subscriber now and not as afraid of snakes lol. Can't wait to see how this one develops over the long term. Peace and blessings, Tanner.
Really enjoy your Chanel. Been a fan for a while now, and watching the progression is awesome.
So soothing to watch your video mate.. this was my first watch on your channel. but at the same time I felt a kind of angst inside me while seeing the tank getting emptied as if I was leaving my old home. Crazy life it is. Keep it up. Aum.
I'm so glad that you are succeeding with the full-time TH-cam job. You deserve it! Thanks for a relaxing place to get away from this troubled world.
I used to not like watching serpa design but now i catch myself binging his channel and re watching all his vids!
(love you tanner)
Man, I’m so glad this showed up in my feed! I’ve been a subscriber for a few years but haven’t had any show up in my recommended for ages. Glad to see you’re still doing well, and the video quality has only improved ❤ 🐠 🌱 🪸
Love all your content! I found you from your terrarium builds long ago and would love to see a new terrarium some time in the future. keep doing what youre doing though, and thanks.

That aquascape inspired me so much. Thanks for high quaity videos that are hard to find on youtube nowqdays
Wow! I am so blown away by how beautiful this is.
I adore how it turned out ❤❤❤
Its crazy how much shrimp you find when you dismantel the tanks. I put a group of 10 in a tank, two years later i had 160 some
Such a beautiful aquarium!
I love the current era of serpa design and I'm excited for the new era!
This video inspired me to start taking care of my shrimp tank again. It is so much fun to watch the shrimp eat!
I find shrimp just so fascinating to watch. They are always up to something.

Wow great video as always
Fun video. That's a lot of shrimp!
I love your videos. The worlds you create with these tanks is amazing ... beautiful... a balance to everything. I think one of these with neon tetras in it would be pretty.. love the shrimp.
One of my friends used your video as an example of a Pittsburgh accent, and i can't stop thinking about it.
Thank you for caring for the all the fish as much as you do! ;_; You're wonderful!
