I actually had a harder time uploading this video than I did playing it, and this final level wasn't exactly easy for me here! Either way, we enter this underground hangar only to find out that it Sigma has indeed taken up residence inside. So much for a peaceful resolution!
This was tough to get down right, but I managed to slowly get my brain in sync with Sigma's strikes and figured out when and where to make my own moves. I also like how the game requires you to be quick in the first round yet more precise when going up against the battle body. It was an awesome feeling when I finally got this final no damage run done.
Anyway, that's all for Mega Man X3. I wasn't expecting things to go as smoothly as they did, and maybe that's why this wound up being one of my favorite playthroughs to do. I hope you all enjoyed this series as much as I did when I was playing it. Peace! - เกม

Funny thing is. I escape so many times when i was a kid. Now ive been killed so many times.. completely forgot how to pass that anoying part..

This LP was incredible. TBH, even though X and X2 are better crafted, I have such a nostalgic soft spot for X3 that I prefer it to either, but the game is so terribly easy to break (considering the way bosses respond to their weaknesses) that it's hard to find videos of people doing anything but. Not only did you show off all aspects of the game so beautifully, from bosses to weapons, but your humor and way with words was highly enjoyable in the most groan-tastic of ways. Thank you very much for this :)

Terribly easy to break...
Out of all the Mega Man X Sigma boss fights, this one is by far the hardest both his first form and his final one. It was very hard to aim your charge shot at Sigma's final form, and I can't tell you how many times I died on this final fight.
I legit think his hit box is broken. I can never tell which shots will hit and which ones will just bounce off of his shoulders
I just want to let you know that this playthrough was really helpful for me! I never really gave X3 a lot of credit as a game until I watched you play it, and then I decided to give it another shot. I gotta tell you, it was a lot better than I remembered it being!

Just finished playing mmx 1-3 on the ps2 collection and your vids were invaluable for x3. I had played 1 and 2 back in the day (still have my mmx1 cartridge ) but never got to 3 so how you showed all aspects of the game helped me not only get through without tons of trial and error but showed the more minute details so I cloud better apreciate the game. So thank you for the amazing series of vids. And having said that I am completely blown away that you managed to get footage of a no hit run on both of sigmas forms because having just done it I have no idea how you did it even as I watch you do it. Anyway this is long enough so cheers!

Sigma was initially a reploid, the commander of the Maverick Hunters. The Maverick Virus, also refered to as the Zero Virus originated from Zero, and was created by Dr. Wily, along with Zero. When Sigma broke Zeros head gem (refer to MMX4 flashback cutscene), Sigma was infected, and eventually went maverick. However he instead must have found a way to harness the virus and as such became an incarnate hybrid of himself and the virus. All the bodies he inhabits are more or less shells for him.

I have to admit I kind of think they dropped the ball on Kaiser Sigma. It's not a bad fight, but you have this fairly large boss in such a small room, and while it makes it tricky, it feels like a waste to not have a larger arena to fight this big bad body in.

i think kaiser sigma was a great challenge that couldve been greater if they gave him a very powerful overdrive at half of health.

The ending kinda revealed MegaMan X 5. Because, if I am correct, that is when X fights Zero.
Mega Jared X it’s not kinda it did foreshadow although I wonder why must he destroy zero even though the virus was destroyed When his chip was destroyed by sigma when he was punched to the chip. But maybe what if he still carries the remain though that explains why there’s still Mavericks going berserk because of that virus

Ugh. Just "beat" this game, but Sigma's fight was so frustrating, with the usual needless "you start from the beginning of the stage and must go through all the dialogs before dying in a few seconds" bullshit, that I gave up and used quick save. Not proud of myself on that one, but seriously, why would they make a boss ten times harder than any other part of the game ?
I totally get that a final boss is supposed to be difficult, but this is ridiculous. MMX1 Sigma was fine. Hard enough, and you didn't have to go through a mini level before fighting him. MMX2 Sigma was a pain, but the fight gave you room for errors.
But this one ? First part was hard enough to be a final boss' second form. But you can manage to learn how to dodge it without ninja reflexes (I just jumped over the first 4 fireballs then dashed under the last one) and once you can do that, it's easy. But the second form, at what point did anyone in the dev team think it was alright to make the boss burn half your HP with one single missile ? And as a reward for finally beating him, what do you get ? A freaking wall-jump race.
And there's the fact that you have to start the whole fortress over if you turn off the console. I don't know anyone who would have the patience to beat all 4 levels in one go as a kid.
I really enjoyed the rest of the game, though. The OST is fine, boss patterns are simple, which is what I want from a megaman game, and there was plenty of hidden stuff to discover.

Yeppp. Learned that one the hard way. This is definitely the most pain in the ass MMX game to beat on SNES.

Ah yes, and that third warp-out amid the explosion. Haunting. We find out years later that was Sigma who had planned ahead and created a Grim Reaper prototype, probably using one of those spare bodies in the incubators. After all he was a virus and he could spread to other bodies. That virus was obviously just a proxy. Or on that had divided off the original--notice how it shrunk at the end.
@TechnoMan482: Doppler was the first to apologize, but not the only.
As a result, that is why the virus is called the Sigma Virus, and why Zero is not only unaffected by it, but actually gains strength from being infected by it (Megaman X5).
Just like Pianchardo, I too prefer the Doppler ending over Zero ending as it fits more the dark tone of the X-series. The saddness of the pointless war that would eventually reach it's height with the Elf Wars.
I do love the Hyper Max armor + Beam saber
I had my Mega Man X2 and X3, 7, Final Fight 2 and 3 stolen from me. I had those games for over 15 years and literally cried when I found out. This one along with X2 hurt the most. Makes me sad just thinking about it...

I have to admit, I honestly prefer the Doppler ending for X3 rather than Zero's. Doppler atoning for what he did while actually seeing his fate just flows better than the notion of being able to install an antivirus on a beam sabre and having Doppler mentioned in passing while leaving his fate up in the air.
That aside, great run once again Bean, congrats. Looking forward to whatever you do in the future.

Hey guys, creating a Megaman X FanGame, called Megaman Darkworld.
The game has 12 playable characters, and 3 game modes: versus mode, story mode 2 Players Co-Op and 1 player.
Soon I will be posting an updated demo of the project.
During the parts of the credits where the bosses are introduced, what does 'rp' means?

took me 4 years to get the game back in 2000 since i first played it back in 1996 as i use to rent it from blockbuster. unfortunately i kinda beat it after beating kaiser sigma after 6 tries but only to succumb to the firewall chase and i never got back up there again until i bought it at the then funcoland in 2000 and finally beat it like within a week of playing it.
@Zeithri I prefer this ending because it makes a bit more sense. Of course, "He must destroy Zero", when he's not there already, but we all know that someone will rebuild him... Again.
And, why didn't Doppler appear in other titles? Because he died here, this ending has more emphasis with that. And how we put an anti-virus into a saber? xD
The only downside is Zero's theme, it's one of the best themes of X3 and for obvious reasons it's not there at the ending ):
Pending X4 is done in the future, I'd love to see a no-damage buster kill on Dragoon. To this day I still just can't manage to do that.. then again, I can't remember if that's just with Zero, or both X AND Zero :P
Zero's music theme is awesome.
There's a new ending where you beat the game as Zero and Dr. Cain's theme is played. Zero is fully playable right from the start so there's no need to worry about Zero having only one life. This is in a hack named Mega Man X3 Playable Zero.

Am I the only one that noticed there is an entire armada of kaiser sigma bodies in the backround? So... did anyone see to their destruction or did they just scatter into the breeze?
You know? The only thing that would have made Kaiser Sigma even harder would have been to make it so only full charged shots could hurt him. (lv3+) Or better still! Only lv4-5 shots could hurt him. So if you didn't get that buster upgrade you wouldn't be able to damage him at all. >:)
X6800 The first recommendation is ok, but the latter is just bad design.

Yep. In both cases, you'd get the Dr. Doppler ending.

In X1/2 sigmas fortress is completely destroyed. In X3...much like the game as a whole.....it's destruction only partially complete.

I'm pretty sure G Gundam aired around the same time this game was being made, too, so it's a possibility. Wouldn't surprise me since there are nods to other anime series in this franchise.

Impressive gameplay my friend. These hands are too old and doesnt have the fast reflexes anymore. Also I have this on the switch, the controllers aren't suited for fast reflexes games like this. The dpad sucks and the buttons are too big I find myself dashing into enemies when I dont want to. Nintenso sucks at making controllers. Lastly the joycons keep drifting the left and a terrible lag comes in when I try to play the games with detatched joycons. I shouldve gotten it on the playstation 4 or xbox at least the controls would've been better

I really hate the Sigma virus so much because it stuns the player and gets him or her killed! Who hates this part the most?
first of all, fuck this boss. this has to be the only hard boss from the x1-x6 bosses. when sigma throws the fucking fire balls and I get hit many times that I die like in a minute, not to mention when he throws the shield at you, the only way for me is the saber, the second part is much easier.

I gave up on this game because it's just... garbage compared to X and X2, which were fantastic. I can't tell you how many times I died on this boss, and I just had enough, hence why I'm watching a playthrough instead. 😭
You can beat sigma first phase by using saw blades. As for his 2nd phase... yeah i gave up too.
