    Funny thing is they don't need to set at all the ice cream reacts right away with the fruit roll up. It becomes crunchy almost immediately. That's the fun of it.

    The guy doing the Dutch Baby in the video also made Fruit Roll-Ups with mango sorbet and Tajine seasoning/chili powder. You may want to try that as well.

    I've made many marshmallows, and I adore it. I'd recommend starting by making marshmallows with just sugar syrup instead of candies for the experience. Yours did remind me of my first attempt, lol. The temp of the sugar is really important, and I saw someone else mention pouring the sugar in slowly while the machine is on. Even with experience, it's sometimes hard to know exactly when to pour it into a mold so it doesn't do that sticky mess business. Good luck!!

    FYI... you will get a better lift on the Dutch baby if you preheat the oven with the pan in it and then just pull out the hot pan to melt the butter. I make them all the time... they are an absolute FAVORITE. Also... with the high hydration of that batter you don't need to worry about gluten over-production... you can blend that sucker 'till the cows come home. :)

    • @divinelyengineered
      @divinelyengineered ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You also want LOTS of air in your batter so over blending helps aerate it!
      I think if she hadn't spilled the batter and let the pan/butter cool while she cleaned it up and reheated the oven, she would have gotten more puffiness.
      You also want all of your ingredients at room temperature.

    • @bethsoule
      @bethsoule ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@jazzyg1162 I would think since it's just sugar and gelatin the clean up would be easy, just let it sit with warm water for a few minutes and it would completely dissolve.

    • @abmin84
      @abmin84 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @Jazzy G when I worked as a chef, any time we made toffee or caramel like this, to clean up the tools and pots was easy because we filled them with water and boiled to dissolve the sugar. Works even with set toffee

    • @staceynoffke
      @staceynoffke ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I also recommend this. Gelatin does not like to set after hot temperatures. Letting the "sugar" drizzle down the side of the bowl while it's whipping helps cool down the sugar before it hits the gelatin. Be careful to make sure the hot sugar hits the bowl before it hits the whip though. You don't want hot sugar being flung around. Ouch! You may also need to weigh off the gelatin as the packets are not always accurate. After it's done whipping, you need to work fast to get the marshmallow in the pan.

    I think for the marshmallow thing, from what I understand of regular mashmallow making; you need to mix the gelatine into the water and then leave it. then when you have the hot jolly rancher sugar syrup I believe you need to start the stand mixer and then stream it, kind of slowly into the mixer whilst it's on and then keep whisking for the 10 mins. I'm not going to guarantee that it will work the way I said but, hope it works out if you try it again!! Love your videos!

    I hear a lot of people talk about eating more protein. In the last year, I’ve talked to so many people who have had issues with their kidneys. My Dr recently told me that I need to watch how much protein I’ve been consuming. If I had to do the last 10 years over, I would be watching my kidney values and the amount of protein I’m eating. Not a dr, but wanted to share my experience. I would recommend people talk to their dr about this.

    I assume jolly ranchers are made using some sort of extruder and chopped while warm. A mold would be silly.

    I'm excited to try the protien powder in orange juice. I also need more protien in my life and I love creamsicles. I kinda want to try the ice cream wrapped in fruit roll ups, but I'm not sure if it'd be my thing as I don't usually like hard shells on my ice cream.

    You could use the chocolate ice cream! But with strawberry fruit roll-ups. So you kind of have a chocolate covered strawberry. Yumm!

    a.) Standing
    b.) That pancake can be called whatever one wants, but it’s definitely not a German pancake (= Pfannkuchen)! A real German pancake is similar to crepes, just thicker.
    Entertaining and fun as always!
    Best wishes

      German Pancakes is just the name of the dish... It was invented in Washington, so it has nothing to do with Germany

      @@uribove so like French toast?

    • @uribove
      @uribove ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amenazanzibarwalla i mean in Europe it's not called french toast at all... In French it's called pain perdu aka lost bread, in Dutch it is called either lost OR won bread, so yeah 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @asc23channel
      @asc23channel ปีที่แล้ว

      @@uribove Sure. I know and get it. It just doesn’t make sense using an existing name of a well known dish for your new creation. It’s like calling a hot dog a hamburger somewhere else. In Europe when ordering American pancakes, you get exactly that, not a chocolate cake or so.
      Cheers

    Strawberry fruit rollup with chocolate ice cream! Like a reverse chocolates covered strawberry! Also, from a technical perspective I prefer standing while cooking. But you do you boo-boo! We will still watch!
