    Misha again many thanks for the lap. It was something i was really looking forward to. And it was amazing!! See you in a bit, and then i will stay a couple of days, so a dry lap would be a possibility. I will also have an obd scanner, maybe we can play with the recuperation settings, and look what it will do with the batterytemp and more important have better braking. See you mate and keep up the good work !!

      That is something I was thinking, why did you set the recuperation to 0 even if you know the breaks might not be designed to handle track usage? why not use the assistive breaking from the recuperation, there is like 4 levels of recuperation, well 5 if you consider 1-pedal a recuperation level.

    Impressive performance on the track given the conditions, they are really good cars. As you say it's a shame most of the manufacturers don't provide adequate braking for heavy repeated use given the weight of EV's and because they are regenerative, there are very few aftermarket options at this time. Will hopefully make it across to the Ring later this year and if you have the time, let's see what my RS eTron GT can do!

      what are the brakes like on your eTron? id imagine theyre fairly beefy considering its audi. im pretty sure the taycan has similar brakes to the 911. fairly large. and the rs eTron competes with it, so i imagine it has a similar brake package. would definitely be a cool lap to see!

      @@XenonArcher personally speaking they're pretty poor. If there is one thing I wish I had specced on the car it is carbon ceramic brakes, had them on by RS7 and the RS eTron's Carbid brakes are not a patch on them, consistently inconsistent.

  • @Harhawink

    This is a mad car for it's price and practical 5 seater size (Comparable to 5-series, E-Class, A6 etc). Proper family car sitting down M2's 3's 5's, 718's non GT versions. And its not actually even made to be a track car since GT stands for Grand Touring. Well done KIA that's ridiculous how far they have gone in so short time.

  • @Jasta315
    @Jasta315 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    If I were to buy an electric car today (and could afford it), Kia ev6 gt is the one I would buy. Practical daily, and fun when you put your foot down. Long range is not an issue for me. I couldnt tell you the last time I drove more than 50miles in one day 🤷‍♂

    • @alamos8
      @alamos8 ปีที่แล้ว

      @FreeMobileGames4u Then the overprice of the EV can be bad for your kind of usage. You would save a good money with a combustion car, even accounting for fuel and maintenance. Once I calculated with a Renault Zoe 110 cv Vs Renault Clio 110 cv, and given price difference, for my usage I would start saving money after 169.000 km and about 15 years!!! Even taking into account some repairs in the combustion car and 3 plug&coild and 3 battery changes. And *not* takimg into account any possible (probably not) battery replacement in the EV. But that was amazing because the Clio was about 16.000 € and the Zoe was about 30.000 €.
      I have two friends (brothers) with such a Zoe each one of them, and they recently started saving after about 4-4.5 years, but that was because they do 100 km/day, they already have about 140-150.000 km.
      I know about another guy with a Cupra Born (204 bhp?) 46.000 €, and he says that with current high electricity prices, he manage to make 500 km with 45 €. If that is correct, quite close to a diesel car

    • @C0R0NAH
      @C0R0NAH ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So true.
      Problem is in agressive stance against comustion engine, non in EV cars.
      Where the electricity come yet you know where from.
      So back in the point i think a lot more would buy EV if they would not feel it like the only options.
      I would like see both simultary and I could bet EV would running more often just like you sad, you dont need ride futher.

    Friendly heads-up to others trying to track this car - it has brake-by-wire, so the pedal feel is artificial, and it uses the electric motors to offload the mechanical brakes, even in no-regen mode (you can also see this in the dash until the warnings start popping up, covering the gauge).
    The important (and potentially dangerous) thing in this, is that the pedal WILL NOT necessarily feel softer when the brakes start to fade, even if the brake fluid is boiling, as there is no mechanical connection between brake pedal and brake system!

    When im in the canyons I use regen 3 and i dont have to break learning to drive not hearing the rev of a engine, and 1 pedal carying motion through the turn, you have to trust modern tech and it gets some getting use to. It is a very good handling car and the power is insane. Its AWD and the power dosnt stop untill 163MPH! insane. I have had many drift cars and fast cars in the canyon soon as i took this for a drive I traded my brand new Telluride of which i love for this while getting a oil change and will get the EV9 as well. Now the speed is so much i have to only drive in ECO mode cuz its to much of a car... People around you have no idea your in a 585HP 0-60 2.99 secl 11.4 1/4 mile car. So they could run into you not knowing its super quick. Did i say faster then a R8 yet but not top speed of course.....lol

The consumption is so low because the EV6 can regenerate up to 300kw when the battery is heated up, and only after then, or the ABS is kicking in, it'll use the traction brakes.

      Tesla has opened the supercharger at the Nürburgring for all brands recently. You only need the Tesla App to use it.

      @@matthiaskunst8336 that's big news I Bet most drivers don't know! It's definitely not enough stalls for weekends though, regular visitors will charge there too

    Zie je wel, KIA heeft het beter voor elkaar dan de concurrenten. En voor ieder type auto krijg je weer een groep liefhebbers. Ik hou het bij kleine auto's maar gun iedere zijn trots op wielen,

    I own one of these and not a single person I have taken out in this car has not been converted.
    The power delivery and handling is amazing, don't disregard people until you actually drive one.
    to many many people have no idea how incredible this car is for the money.
    its just my daily but it will smoke most cars on the road haha.
    fyi my dream car is a 911 turbo but these electric cars are a lot of fun.
    and on the daily drive they are just so smooth and relaxing.
    plus I charge the car in the day from my solar power for free as im in Australia.
    what's not to love.

    I like your EV laps.
    Someone needs to install some powerful chargers close yo the track.

    Hey Misha! How would you rate this vs. the Polestar 2 Performance, ignoring practicality etc. just focused on lets call it "spirited driving"?

    Maybe since the new Kia don't have piston engines, they won't blow up after 30 000km

    It's so weird how the manufacturers continue to save a bit of money on the brakes - anyone considering this car wouldn't mind paying extra for better brakes.

    for me, this is closely infront of a Model Y Performance and WAY infront of a Mach E GT. The latter is really not good overall. Let's see how the IONIQ 5 N looks and performs when it finally comes out!
