This movie breaks the movie rule "Cameraman never dies".
Proves he’s a bad cameraman.
he loses the cameraman invincibility the moment he talks
Especially if the cameraman is Erlich Blachman.
Found Footage films are the cameraman's kryptonite.
The cameraman was annoying.
It always amazes me how the chopper was flying right beside the clover monster and exploding bombs i mean youre in the air can go any direction away from that 😂😂
They probably weren’t expecting the monster to jump in the air and reach em like that.
@superdinotv3298 well, they were flying parallel to the monsters movement. If the pilot turned to the right and flew that way it probably would have been fine.
The only realistic consideration would be fuel and time to try and get more people evacuated.
They always fly around the danger Like a bee and get destroyed
@@patrickdix772Well even if so the way its positioned they’d be flying to literally the ocean, and if they run out of fuel they will fall into the water and drown
But they could have moved backward instead of following the creature
I will never understand why people choose to watch their demise instead of getting as far away from the situation as humanly possible.
Curiosity killed the cat
Denial
Fear works differently on people, some will run, other will be petrified and they're some brave enough to overcome their fear.
But a gigantic alien will surely make freeze most people!
Pretty sure in this type or situation a Evac pilot needs to have a visual on the entity and post back to command.
Well they were Millennials... 😂😂
2:15 Man that helo flew awfully close instead of creating distance as much as possible.
Dumbass pilot just doomed them all by doing that
Oh god shut up that’s not relevant at all
Every damn movie, I was like "dude, just fly higher. TF you go to aviation school for"
He wanted to die
Dont think they understood that thing could leap ... Also, when such out of the norm events occur, people are drawn to it as a major distraction, even if they are trying to escape ...
One of my favorite aspects of this movie, is that everytime you see the Military, they are just taking a fat dump on the monster. Just unloading everything as fast as possible... and nothing.
Our famous trillion-dollar-plus underperforming military.
"'Ooh, ahh.' That's how it always starts. But then later, there's running and screaming."
-Ian Malcolm, Jurassic World

Like most of my dates……….😅
4:32 how did they not notice a huge monster approaching
deaf
I hear you.....
Exactly. The ground would be shaking like crazy. Also, the last scene should be the reverse view of the cameraman going down the creature's throat, right?
@@JMYaden Camera man got cut in half when being eaten
And the monster didn’t even see hud. He could have ran away. You even hear them cast “hud come on! What are you doing?!!” And he just stands there like a goon. RUN! Don’t let it stare are you for a while. And why did it eat him? Was it hungry?
Kissing in the middle of the street while there's a giant monster 100 feet away from you tearing shit up....come on yall....
That's how we do it on Earth. Don't let some monster deprive you of sexy times ;),
Hot as fuck in all honesty
That's the part you find hard to believe?
You gotta take it where you find it. Never lasts long anyway.
@Vladimirlives13 /:I
3:14 Steve Spielberg got to see an early cut and suggested to JJ to have the radio go off and explain how the bomber was ineffective, and when sirens go off your in the blast zone.
Tj miller delivered hard with this role. I loved the depiction of his peril and absolute helplessness in this scene. Kinda comedic but really effective
The most annoying actor ever.
@@BekahMarie11 Thank You ! He is seriously the walking talking epitome of a Hipster Man bun wearing Douche. How that guy ever got roles is beyond me
Hear me out,I love Cloverfield. But,
4:49 IT DOESNT SEE YOU! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!
Word. I believe he had a good few seconds to make a run for it if he was fast enough and probably would’ve survived
i would have ran right under it and through out the back so it will not see me and hide
This flick hasn’t aged a bit. Pure terror
The helo moving close to the monster as it gets bombed instead of making a fast retreat is one of the big immersion breakers in an otherwise great movie. Would have been FAR better to have the helo disabled as its first pulling out, it struggles for a bit then crashes.
This monster is indestructible and unstoppable
Godzilla: *ahem*
Jaegers: 🗿
@@デストロイアtransformers fan is all I need to know😂
@@デストロイアgodzilla doesnt mean shit to this species. This is a baby version which is almost big as godzilla. An adult version is about 2km which made godzilla like an insect lmao
No there weapons were hurting it.
@@michaelsutherland5099it didn’t do much than make clover stumble and fall, and that’s only when they used bombs.
2:22 LOL
He heard him talking sh#t
Clover jumpscare
Hud getting eaten by the monster reminds me of Jurassic Park where the lawyer gets eaten by the T-Rex.
Except HUD didn’t deserve it.
@@sheilaholmes8455 my ears beg to differ.
@@sheilaholmes8455 Genaro may have been a jerk but he didn’t deserve death, I don’t think anyone really deserves death myself, Just a proper punishment.
Realistically, if a monster was to attack NYC, it would be virtually impossible for the military to evacuate every citizen out of the city.
But this a good movie, regardless of suspension of disbelief.
Yeah - air lift evacuation of urban city centers would take weeks to conduct and the military would never be able to coordinate such an effort in 1 night. If this type of disaster did happen, your best bets are to walk or shelter in place.
@@skinnybballer True, but it also wouldn't hurt to have a gun or two, just in case.
Not really, that didn't really happen in the movie
They were trying to evacuate Manhattn, not Newyork and they didn't success, the bridge got destroyed, the subways roads were full of mini monsters, the building had dead peoples in them and the military got head outs with citizen arounds
Majority of people more or less died in the 8 hours of Cloverfield attack
@@comyxcon4gaming860 Yeah because guns make everything better....
@@ajc1482 Better than nothing.
2:51 If you pause it at the right time you can see king kong
Holy crap I saw it !! Lol
lol I saw it too at 2:52
Maybe a foreshadow that the monster is in the same universe as King Kong and Godzilla.
@@lawrencetrinidad7003 it’s just an Easter egg placed there for fun.
@@lawrencetrinidad7003 no doubt just a homage to king kong
What I have never understood, is why the chopper didn't fly in the *_OPPOSITE_* direction from that which the monster was *CLEARLY* going. Why on earth did the helicopter pilot fly in *closer* to the monster when he was supposed to be evacuating civilians to a safe and secure location? What was the reasoning or justification for that choice? It was as if he deliberately flew the chopper close enough for the monster to reach up and clip him....which is exactly what happened. That just never made sense to me, and it STILL doesn't regardless of how many times I watch that it. It requires a much higher level of "suspended disbelief or plausibility" for this scene in the movie. I have no idea why the scriptwriters and director allowed this scene to go this way. It's not a believable scenario in any conceivable setting where it is clear that there is a feasible pathway to escape, that a rational human being would not immediately take it to avoid confronting a giant, death-bringing monster, or *ANY* other kind of existential threat. Thus, a real pilot in a real horror situation like that would not have followed the monster. He would have gone in the entirely *OPPOSITE* direction to safety.
Like the audience, even the monster couldnt stomach Hud
I wonder if Clover spit out the half of Hud that he bit off. I guess Kaijus don’t like the taste of crap.
I've never wanted cameraman to die more.
same. he would not shut the fuck up XD
Lmfao didnt even take them to to safety, just floating right above it
I remember seeing it in theaters, I was a junior in high school when it came out . And I remember grabbing my friends out so hard , my nails dug into him when the monster jumped up and attacked the chopper.
Come on, monster. Take all you want, but eat all you take.
I know right. No manners at all
Some movies make you root for the characters to die. This is one of those movies.
The creature wasn't all bad, but the director of photography surely was.
yeah lets not fly into the opposite direction of raging 300 ft monster
I still laugh because I remember my friends from high school who believed this film was a true story
LMAAOOO
I found this move in a dollar special bin at Walgreens. I liked it so much that I watched it once.
i loved this movie so much, when i first saw it in all honesty, i didn't like all the blood and creepy stuff, but now that i am way older, this movie was just perfect in so many levels, the camera action we got was a POV of the actual guy and his great escape from a monster in the city, and the military response and such was a chef's kiss, but i feel like the military should've done the same thing as they did with shin godzilla, which was the use of bunker busters, i feel the bunker busters could've pierced the skin on the monster and kill it from inside, but still, a perfect movie
I actually cheered when the monster ate the guy holding the camera the whole time!
I wonder why the military never used laser guided bombs that can penetrate bunkers. The laser guidance would mean it won’t miss and the hardened casing would give it a strong chance of punching through its tough skin. Instead they used unguided bombs that detonate on impact but even then the bombs from the B-2 knocked it down.
because huge explosions on a giant monster is cooler to watch.
Let's fly right above him and his 150 foot long arms, yeah! Makes all the tactical sense in the world!
I refuse to believe that at their altitude relative to the creature at the time of the bombing run, that the creature would be able to stand up and attempt to take a bite out of the helicopter, they were way above it’s head moments prior.
really wish we got to see more of the nuke scene. This movie is such a monster classic !
Godzilla be like: gimme the name
Being fair this was all accidental since the mosnter (Who is a youngling) Was simply confused about the situation at first, It thought the statue of liberty was a danger so it chomped off it’s head, It then was angered when the military forces started attacking it and later down the line it got lost in the concrete jungle, The beast was eventually taken down anyways.
That one guy in the chopper was completely hysterical. The woman only started to scream when the chopper was hit.
Cameraman:“Im the fastest and invisible.”
Cloverfield:“Nah that shit don't work here.”
Cameraman:“Oh shit.” 5:06
The scene at very end on video recording camera on Coney Island Park ferris wheel look carefully for the "easter egg". Note the satellite re-entering earth's atmosphere as a streak and splashing down in ocean. This was supposed to have awakened the "Cloverfield" monster from its hibernation on deep ocean floor. The "Slusho" t-shirt in beginning is a reference to the company in Japan (Rob is going to work for) searching for new Slusho flavors. Slusho Co. was harvesting/extracting their exotic new flavor "Sea Nectar" from deep sea mud. I think the company name was supposed to be "Tagruato"? Look up the easter eggs for Cloverfield movie and explains in way more detail of the story time-line not in film.
Cameraman never dies

@@angelretz yeah 🤣
I like how the people were regular and trying to survive amongst choas and panic unable to fight just able to run
This is why I like this movie. Everybody loves Godzilla always saving the world or whatever, but nobody cares about what’s going on beneath their feet.
That helo pilot got the curiosity issue 💀
4:45 is this the same creature we see in the rest of the movie? it looks waaaayyyy smaller
one of the best movie amongst the best ones
1:12 before the monster just sounded scared and lost, but here it actually sounds angry.
Best part of that movie was Hud getting chomped on, he drove me nuts with his ranting !! 😆
That movie is really good
so Instead of flying away from of the monster
You Fly on Top and Make a Loud noise to be targeted by it
Nicely Done
Dumbest shit ever with the chopper just hovering next to where the monster is instead of flying away from the spot
It just me but were ever they are the monster is there. How he moved so quickly. Love the love story line of Rob and Beth🤍🗽
One of the most harrowing films I've ever seen... !!!
Um dos filmes mais angustiantes que já assisti... e um Filme bom demais!!!

I love the comments section picking holes in the realism of a movie about a giant monster destroying New York. 😅😂
Anyone in 2024 want a sequel

Never have I wanted people to die in a movie as much as I did this one - literally the most annoying cast ever

A friend of mine noted that Hud wanted to do Marlena but Clover did them both…
It's not a surprise that young people are crazy with such films.
I'd of loved to see the Cloverfield incident but in a US Marine perspective, like a helmet cam or something
I dont understand the hate towards this film. Short, intense, and provides a first person view ... very hard to find such films like this. Suits horrors very well.
Is it me, or does the Cloverfield Monsters look like the Monsters in a Quiet Place?
i remember, years ago i got motion sickness when watched this movie
Remembers this is only a baby, it’s actually looking for its mother (adult cloverfeild) it’s scared and squandering
Hear me out. Found camera footage movie but the monster is Godzilla
Maybe it’s just me but Clover MUST have jumped to reach the helicopter, right? First, that was a bite and even those forelegs don’t look long enough to have hit it considering where everybody was.
I saw one of those the other day. Didn’t know it was an alien
They should have called godzilla or Kong to finish the monster
Im kinda sad because tht cloverfield is still a kid
Mythbusters , EP. 12424: "Can the cameraman die?!"
Let me just say in a clear and calm voice..FLY FUCKING HIGHER AND FAR AWAY! Thank you.
thank goodness he screamed that they hit it with the bombs as i almost didnt see, wouldnt of known they hit it unless he yelled
This moster coming from their hell 😮
I believe a powerful lasers cant bring down this alien.

That is a big old Cloverfield

I've seen this movie, that was not the full ending of the movie. There was more to it than this ending.
I once watched Cloverfield without realizing i was watching it
Talk about an angry baby 😂
Happy fathers day dad🎉
Fun fact: he's just a scared baby looking for his mother
Well this just got dark.
Was a decent movie
2:25 bro had to jinx it
A monster like that can only be defeated with lazer technology, if nukes and bombs don't work, bombs explode but lazers have concentrated energy, a nuke is just energy that's been condensed and exlodes when released but a lazer is constantly keeping it's energy focused in one spot so they should have tried that.
MMMMMM.....JUICY!!!!!
